We know players encountered different issues when playing the Black Banquet Event, and we wouldn't want you to leave the feast still hungry. We'll be providing 5M Bloodpoints to all players, redeemable in your in-game inbox. Thank you for your patience as we worked on these issues, and we hope to see you in The Fog!
Why would you ever play the event as killer?
Besides the quests, of course.
There is simply no new mechanics for them, no buffs, nothing, only insanely strong mechanics that only work for the survivors. The only thing the killers get are some small dessert buffs once the game is pretty much over.
Like, why would anyone queue up in a mode where you're simply at an overwhelming disadvantage? lmao

Yup. Either instant event queues or 5 minutes regular mode queues. On top of cakes being rarer for now… its just insane. Still waiting for people to abuse the unbreakable pallets on gideons to trap a killer behind one of the god pallets for 30+ seconds.
12 -
Yeah, I just noticed that with unbreakable pallets, you can literally trap the killer forever in the basement and therefore hold the game hostage if you want LMAO
10 years of dev experience btw
11 -
Fortunately its a timer of 60 seconds but still. You could just run to one of the god pallets on one of the doors that open if a gen near it is completed, run to the corner against an m1, get injured or have some form of endurance and drop the pallet leaving them in that area for a while.
-1 -
In Midwich there is also a spot where you can trap the killer. Regardless, even without these spots, having places where you can't break pallets just means that you won't be able to get the survivors ever, unless you're Nurse or Henry. And that is only one of the banquets, the other 2 are also broken af.

I like abusing the poison on Springtrap, Legion, ect. And killers like Jason, Artist and Springtrap can stop people using cakes mid chase.
-1 -
Why would Survivor play? The most aggressive Killers are in the event queue and the only thing that's fundamentally different is putting food on a table. 🤣
-30 -
But like, the poison doesn't do anything unless the survivor eats it, and if you're on a SWF it becomes pretty easy to track which food has poison, in which case you just put it on the table or eat it while the killer isn't around, so the slow doesn't matter.
Idk, it all just makes me feel like you actively have to make an effort to lose as a survivor in this mode (in normal mode too, but that's beside the point)
4 -
You know you can just throw the poison at survivors right? And it lingers on resources you throw it at.
I'm just finding it boring all around. The survivor powers sound strong on paper but are so short lived as to not truly matter much. The full table setting is strong but is so SWF coded its funny. There is basically no reason to poison anything, just throw it at people and its an auto chase win.
4 -
I haven't tried playing killer yet, so I'll keep an open mind, but I was underwhelmed when I read the description. The survivors have a bunch of stuff to do with special effects, and the killer even power is just, "Try to stop them from using it."
3 -
I've already had to face several ghouls and clowns and its not fun getting hit by the poison ngl. The meals actually make going against the top killers quite manageable but I can only imagine how rough it is for lower tier killers.
-1 -
For Killer, honestly the worst event I've ever seen (5k+ hours killer main here). Just so surv sided and an aggravating slog for killer mains.
Will not play this event. Hope I can get some normal games in….

Or trap him in a area that he cant leave. On the game map near basement the two pallets can be left unbreakable and the killer will be Trapper if there not a TP killer. This happened to me when I played springtrap

killer event is just ghoul, just the broken ghoul, ghoul after ghoul, this event is tremendously boring playing as killer and when u play as survivor is terrible because always u face agaisnt a ghoul. This event is terrible. Ohh i mentioned the VERY RARE CAKE OFFERING? instead COMMON? was to be a celebration and not a funeral.

Worst event for killers in history being the 10th anniversary is something… Not only cakes being very rare in the bloodweb we also have to accept the fact that survivors have free cheats and there's nothing you can do about it. I spent almost 5 million bp on Jake and got like 38/39 cakes and in some matches I feel like I'm not getting as many bps I used to get. Survivors can easily abuse their infinite powers while you wait a long time to get at 1 poison and decide if it's worth to keep it to use in chase or poison the food (if you can because they added like 200 dining carts everywhere). I also noticed survivors are abusing the portals A LOT connecting loops to portals and vice versa and some of them go down on purpose under the portals so killers will have a difficult time trying to get the pickup prompt because it's the same prompt to use the portals. Idk man… I actually lost hope and I don't feel like playing this event at all even as survivor…

Ok go ahead and play killer in mode and see how enjoyable it is

Answering the OP, the only reason I ground through event matches as killer was specifically to clear the quests. Now that I have them done, I'm not touching the mode with a ten foot pole.
I'm told the event is supposed to have more than one broken global effect, but I had six matches in a row that were all the Invisibility/Teleporter one. Silly me for being excited and bringing out my favorite M1 killers, the entire match was chasing someone until I get my first hit, then the zoom off and turn invisible, then hide in some corner to reset. I try to shift focus to defend a gen, they prerun, and if I try to take the chase, poof. Invisible.
This has been a very miserable experience to play. 😥
[Edit addendum] Further salt in the wound, half of those six matches the survivors were t-bagging, clicking, rapid enter/exiting lockers the entire time to rub it in, so they knew exactly what they were doing and how un-fun it all was for their opponent. Absolute sore winners.7 -
There isn't one. I did the quests and after that I signed out. It's miserable. All the reasons above of course being viable, but most importantly to me is that the queue seems to have nothing but SWF bully squads trying to clip farm perma-pallet blocking a killer, or trolling nonstop.
Nonstop flashlight clicking, locker hopping, emoting, teabagging, and unlike in normal 1v4 you can't really punish them for it because they'll eat their food and heal, or get a free DH, etc etc.
They succeeded in making an event that looks marginally fun for survivors, and good for them. But I expect the surv queue time for the event will end up skyrocketing once the killer mains burn through the quests to get the limited rewarded. Limited rewards means it'll happen quick, and then it'll be forgotten about as another mistake.3 -
I'll just do the quests and stick to survivor for the rest of the event.
2 -
I don't mind there being busted Survivor mechanics as long as Killer had busted mechanics to match.
Which, while the Poison is mildly interesting and unique (even if not terribly useful), pales in comparison to the amount of things Survivors can do.
-3 -
I'm enjoying it, but I'm playing trickster and Unknown. so pallets etc don't bother me too much i just need to get it nice hits.
-3 -
My god, this is delusional, man. Survivor get god mode with so many buffs and killer get half of clown's power. Also, most of the casuals will be in the event - as it is always.
Really?

Maybe they could bring back the remote hook and the remote pallet break. It would make the event more bearable for killers.
-4 -
I just think he is ragebaiting tbh
3 -
Poison bottles are fun to use even if they are very repetitive
3 -
Just do what is required and just sign out no point playing that mode

I haven't seen a killer queue bonus in over 6 months. Good luck with those windmills.
1 -
Believe me, it's not. There are some in this forums capable of the most absurd takes to defend their side.
0 -
I wasn't disagreeing. I was saying there's no point for either side to engage. Besides, the event queue is full of petty players that don't actually want to play the event at all.

Can you answer something for me? How many of your trials in the event mode are ending in 0 - 1 kills?
2 -
I can answer that for you, he posted in another thread to me, he is getting wins but he is complaining anyways lol
2 -
Exactly lmao I get that one-sided events suck, but it gets old always having to pretend that Killers are always the most affected by everything.
0 -
I mean I'm literally playing trickster and having the time of my life as killer, the poison is really cool I'd love something like that as a perk some time.
That and it's fun trying to find survivors who are in stealth for me, like a bit of hide and seek, I just think killers don't like a challenge… thern there is the ones who "accidentally" get stuck in Gideons and Midwhich like "Help me stepbro I'm stuck". It's a valid thing to complain about, but who gets stuck there despite being aware of it.
4 -
For sure. Sometimes it's hard not to play the world's smallest violin after being slugged 'til bleed out and seeing the anti-slugging measures shelved forever. 😵 Not that it's even about that but come on, you know? 😂
2 -
I've been liking ghostface during the event. Most people try to bully you with the tables and end up not doing gens haven't lost yet.
1 -
Most matches 3-4k's even with random perks and killers. If you get a good team that abuses the food then yeah its most likely not going to be a 4k but even still in those usually got at least one or two. Still have to admit I am not really enjoying the matches as the event just forces you to play more seriously can't really relax when survivors can negate your progress by just stuffing food on a table.
0 -
I always get around 20 cakes per prestige. I think thats fine.
-2 -
Its fine but people are being greedy and wanting way more. I got about 30 per prestige.
-3 -
If you are going to talk in my place - which you shouldn't and you can't - at least DON'T TWIST MY WORDS
1 - It was just the screenshot of 2 matches (4k), but one of them was someone trolling - saboing a hook on death hook. You are ignoring the 6 survivor matches with 3 to 4 escapes i had.
2 - I'M NOT PERSONALLY COMPLAINING. I'm playing mostly survivor this event. I've just said BHVR should listen to the complaints. There are some people who only play killer or mostly play killer and they want to have fun in the event. This event is absurdly one sided to extent of creating very unfun scenarios for killers and BHVR should pay attention to that.
Please, don't talk in my place. Its annoying and disrespectful.

I find SF enduring bamboozle legion with iri pin and poison hilarious. Watching them fumble around being unable to run after a frenzy+poison is choice. The table only heals mending, they stay injured afterwards

I play forced penance in the event, the broken's strong enough to stop them repeatedly resetting and bodyblocking. I've also (never thought id say this) been enjoying ghoul in this event as the ability to dash around and get a free hit on anyone is pretty helpful. and as you said the deep wound stops instaheals via table setting. It allows me to play a bit more chill when im against causal survivors, and the more bully esq survivors i can play sweaty.
I mean forced penance does nothing against casual because theyre unlikely to bodyblock, point and case. The rest of my build is usually bbq, discordance and i switch between pain res and PGTW. Definitely a stronger build, but not optimum and still allows me to slow it down if needs.

Honey it's up to you to clarify not me, I ain't speaking for you just saying what I saw.

Most modifiers tend to give stuff for the killer side, or at least you can make an argument that it's even. Lights Out is the one that favours killers the most. Chaos Shuffle is balanced, but you could make an argument that since survivor meta perks are stronger the ones killer current has, this mode makes killers stronger than on normal game. 2v8 is massively survivor sided, but having an 8 person survivor lobby makes it so that the odds of one or two bad survivors being your team very high, so it is not as bad. Last year's Halloween event was very even, survivors get a smoke bomb and a different dimension to bring the killer on chase, and killers get a projectile that *damages*.
This anniversary event survivors get universal heals, endurance on command, Sprint Burst on command, full invisibility on command, the ability to fix broken pallets, immortal pallets, haste that makes you Huntress speed, universal action speed buff, and other stuff. Killer gets a projectile that slows. Dude, it is just not comparable.
-5 -
Well there is also the ability to poison the food or objects but they did not even give aura or something to indicate that it gives any value. Main reason why it feels like a waste to do as you don't see any value as the killer of doing it.
-1 -
BECAUSE IT'S THEMATICALLY FITTING TO EAT HEADS AS DEMODOGGO. MY BOI IS HAVING A FEAST. YOU COULD SAY A WHOLE BANQUET!
-2 -
thats the biggest load of dung i’ve seen.
2 -
I think most of the effects are tolerable to go against, the only one I think is awful is the teleport/invsibility combo. Watching others abuse the hell outta the invisibility is kind of aggravating.
-2 -
I see your point, but given the state of the game, I'm still left asking the same question: what do the trials look like? Because personally this doesn't feel very different from how unplayable the game becomes when a new Killer drops (minus the fact that the event isn't producing wipe after wipe). It just affects one side over the other this time.
Now that's not to say that you have to like it and you're not allowed to call BHVR out. I just don't see how it's the end of the world either.
1 -
devs dont care they only run in circles on survivor and add new outfits. Killer in general is trash and gets pummeled by swf its been needing a fix for years, but we needed this and pallet density? its gross
-1 -
You need to play super aggressive or lose, survivors power through mostly every game if they aren't afk or playing brand new.
survivor mains really just need to get a clue
0 -
Still don't understand the hate for ghoul. After having his pallet vault and pallet break power cool down, he's a m1 killer once he has you injured IF YOUR POSITIONING IS GOOD. He mainly excels against survivors who like to hold w to make distance into a dead zone rather than playing a nearby loop.😕
