Is Stridor more harmful than good?

Since it doesn’t really increase the range of grunts but rather makes them more audible and possibly screwing your sense in the process. Is it basically just used to counter Iron Will?

Thinking of using it for Spirit.

I found it helpful on Spirit. You usually cant hear injured grunts up to max range and it may drown in chase music or other sounds. Having Stridor basically increases the audible range and counters iron will. Although i have mixed experiences with Stridor vs Iron Will. Fengs are so silent at 50% volume, that they may aswell have iron will. Davids are countered by stridor.

Takes some time getting used to, but i can track a lot better with it on Spirit, so i'll take the perk for the results.

Helped me a lot of times when survivors were hiding around me in bushes or behind some obstacles. It really makes a difference hearing them breathe.

I thought Stridor would be good on spirit, but you do have to relearn volumes! I de selected and went for surveillance instead!

I wouldn't say it's harmful but it's a really poor perk to be honest.

It's not nearly effective enough to be worth using.

It may not be an S tier perk, but still its nice for tracking, especially if you get blinded (or fatigued).

But tbh i still dont use it that much because there are so many more powerful perks out there.

Just as Weederick said, Stridor is helpful on Spirit. That extra bit of hearing can make the difference.

Personally, I think Stridor could use a buff.

    To me yes.

    Got real-life Stridor.

So in that case, it'd be more harmful as i could slot anything else in there and i'd profit more.

With the sound changes making it near impossible to hear anyone seperated from you by a wall, stridor is basically pointless because you still cant hear them. If they changed it to revert the sound change I think it would be a solid perk.

Would you say Predator would be better for her instead of Stridor?

In most scenarios, Predator/Bloodhound are better generally, but if the survivors are not injured and not sprinting a'la "Urban Evasion" the aforementioned 2 perks do nothing.

Stridor can help you track in phase walk regardless of the survivors status but i don't think it's effective enough to push out the other 2 perks.

Think it depends on your tracking style and the killer you are playing.

Spirit can make the most of the perk since she physically cannot see survivors in her phase walk, thus hearing becomes a must.

Myers can make some use of this since your low TR lets you stalk them by sound without necessarily giving your position away (honestly Nurses Calling is just better)

Billy is an odd one but with how loud that chainsaw is you would be surprised how many grunts I've heard while moving across the map. Its a great way to know you just passed someone you may not have seen directly and allows you to suddenly stop and find them.

I personally find it easy to mark targets by sight (use to play a ton of FPS games) and its not too difficult to determine most likely hiding places. If you are someone who prefers sound tracking try the perk out!
