Judgement is a Sniper
I won't be commenting on if this is good or bad design or whether it fits DBD or not I'm just stating some observations from watching a ton of gameplay the past couple days.
I think the reason Judgement has been considered so hard by so many people so far is because she's like Nurse in that she does not play normal DBD. It's kinda been established already her chase is fairly weak and you kinda have to fiddle with the camera to get it to work short range at all. However I think the trade off for this is Judgement being the game's first true sniper. Yes killers like Huntress and Artist can also snipe but I think unlike them not only can you snipe with Judgement I think that's actually the point and how you're supposed to play her. I genuinely think a strong strategy with her is to just sit in the middle of the map (on high ground if possible) and just start firing beams at gens around the entire map trying to snipe people. I think this is intentional design when BHVR gives the beam 60 meters of range so if you're in the middle of the map there's very few places you can't reach. This I think gives her excellent map control and strong 4v1 to trade off her 1v1 being kinda trash but I think a lot of players are not gonna like this because it means you're not really supposed to focus on 1v1 chases so much (for the record I personally like it and think it's kinda funny).
So if you get on the PtB and struggle a lot because you're trying to chase don't be surprised. This is just something to think about and try because I think BHVR might have made something unlike what people are used to.

For real, I can't wait to see all the floods of people saying she's F tier while playing her like she's the same as any other killer.

surv players hate anything that forces them to play off meta

I am excited to Test her in PTB. I have been looking forward to her for a while now and I will likely p100 her. Sometimes you just know

When I realized she does worse in close range and can snipe across map, my interest was actually piqued. Definitely not practicing the 180 close hits, I don't want to worry about that and it could make me worse overall, but the long range pressure is something I'd like to see for myself.
Though I can already see people complain about aura read on her.
That said, I still haven't gotten a concrete consensus on banishing. Is it better or worse than hooking due to the survivors getting buffs? I probably should have watched more games to get a better idea.0 -
From the gameplay I've seen she kind of reminds me of artists hitting people with crows across the map, except it'll be an instant injury. I'm curious to see how she gets on as a ranged killer with a minimum range deadzone. Certainly a little different.

Who said anything about hating her? OP certainly didn't. Personally I think it's refreshing to see a killer with a very niche playstyle for a change, instead of all the traversal plus range/dashslop we've been seeing recently.

I love leaning into killer gimmicks so I was planning on doing exactly this. I was hoping to see how well my classic Weave+ Franklin's combo would fare on them.
As a survivor I might have to bust out 11 and get this killer revealed as much as I can awareness is going to be a huge factor in dealing with them I think

My understanding is you want one survivor in exile at all times to keep your zealous state up but you don't want more than one survivor in exile at a time because one person freeing the exiled survivors frees all exiled survivors at once. So if somebody is in exile and you down another person you probably just wanna hook them.

So this does not work at all. Survivors can see the beam as it is being aimed, even through walls, which means even on indoor maps the only way you are reliably hitting people on generators is if it is their first game against the Judgment. The only exception is if you are in your empowered form where you can adjust the beam very shortly after its shot, but the turning scales with the distance of the power, meaning if you use it to snipe, you won't be able to really turn it whatsoever.
In short, no you can't just sit in the middle of the map and hit people, you will lose.
(This does, however, make the killer a disgustingly strong totem defender, so look forward to that standard hex build on every single one)

It also ramps up in speed very quickly so if the killer is in zealous and spaced correctly it seems not so easy to dodge especially if they send it in a slant or at least not a straight line. I'm not saying send it max range but slightly outside the TR it seems pretty effective and a lot more manageable than trying to 180 flick every shot short range which controller players just will not be able to do.

I've only seen gameplay from the likes of you, so I dont have a full understanding myself but I'm hoping to go for a chess style where you play around the big picture, be liberal with chases but with the auras you "miss" and hit somebody not in chase. I'm hoping the unpredictability will force people to pay attention to me the entire game.
My plan to do this was to setup Weave Attunement which may work since like Henry or Unknown people are a little more confident moving towards you

they made her unfun to go against, boring range ability and counters almost all survivor perks and flashlight

Sadako deja vu

Yeah like I said though, even at 32m range your ability to control the beam while zealous is almost done. The control scales with distance, and 32 meters is pretty far. I'm not saying you'll never get a long range hit or anything, its just not at all primary strategy that will work.

The problem is even people on generators not being chased can see the giant beam being aimed towards them. Like there is zero mistaking the killer aiming at you once you go against it.
-3 -
Never felt so vindicated in my life. Can confirm this is more or less what I've been doing too although I do send people to exile rather than slug

Her chase is not weak and she is by far the best killer in the game if they release her in the current state.
I suspect that if they do nothing, in about a year people will be complaining about her being too oppressive once people get the hang of her.

This killer unless they change it isnt for controller player base. Im on pc but from what I seen and heard I van clearly say trickster or xeno are much more viable for people playing on controller then she will be.
Like on some vloser range you have to do 180 which no other killer requires and hitbox of he attack is realy small compare to other killers with kind of simular power like artist. She has big potencial but will be stomped by her not being so viable inteality. Im not sure how big part of community is playing on controller but I would bet it will be around 1/2, majority are playing survivor but those playing killer well they can forget about her.
Its quite poetic isnt it, a killer created by community for the community to enjoy yet it wont be in reality so viable for big part of the community.

A year? Those posts will appear within the first month. Hell, the first two weeks.

She is good till you get close like 14 meters and less and then she is just 4,4 killer who can use power but has to 180 flick to maybe get hit thats super hard and she gets slowed a lot by doing it and has huge cooldown for following with m1 attack. Basicaly killer you cant play on controller.
On paper she looks god tier but thats just on paper, what matters is hod it works in real game. People complain on every killer I dont remember killer that didnt got hate like even uknown was called op because he can hit you through objects some make him look here like new nurse or springtrap which few people called here “has no counterplay” or that he is new ghoul etc.
Every time new killer comes he gets hate in some degree, you will never do/create something that sill like everybody thats it.

Justice rains from above or smth idk

I prefer sniping over hyper mobility, it kind of reminds me of artist but a better version of her? At least you can react/position accordingly to a sniper, whilst Nurse is like if she is good you are hit regardless.
There is still mindgames at long distance and I love that about the Judgements design so far.2 -
I play on controller and can 4k on her fairly comfortably as long as I focus on long range and midrange shots, close range is hard but get somewhat easier if I'm using prayer kneeler. Console will be fine as long as they actually want to get good at the killer.

Thats the thing long to medium she is deffinitely strong but on close range unless you run certain addon (cant remember the name but I think its the one you mentioned, its the one otz has in his vid too) you dont get these shots easily especialy not on controller where doing sharp and fast camera turns that had to be very accurate like 180 flicks not to mention survivors still see the pillar before it can damage them.
She needs some adjustment for this or it would be very bad killer for all players that dont use mause and keyboard and even then good survivors will be super hard to hit. You can chase them as m1 killer but you are 4,4 m/s which is even worse then regular 4,6 m1 killers like trapper.
She is good but on close range she will be garbage so almost everybody will play her range just closing distance but not going close and spaming the pillar till they down you and exile you which I bet survivors find very annoying just look at vecna the first he is almost the same but he goes close he works mid to close range but she is totaly new here she works best at long to medium range and on close range she sucks a lot maybe more then hag due to her size.

Artist would be super good as sniper if only her counter wouldnt be so bad, all the survivor has to do is to jump into thr locker and poof crows sre gone plus she cant damage you inside.
On close range artist is actualy very strong, she csn use her crows to totaly destroy loops snd force hits just zone killer on roids.
Only few things make artist bad even without that hands addon that spreads crows as some infection and is usualy must run, thats first multiple floors plus elevations so maps like gideon or swamp ones are very bad for her and second is the thing with lockers that they remove crows instantly which is still stupid because she has to hit you twice to damage you through objects for each health state.
Im still wondering why lockers remove crows instantly like she is strong but not that busted and takes some skill plus is in top 5 least played.
But how devs are solving this issue??? Easily, by giving her good skins which will deffinitely bring more people to play her especialy when they are paid ones.

I mean she definitely needs so close range option because I don't think the 180 thing is viable regardless of M+K or controller because you have to take your eyes off the survivor to do it and by then they may have broken LoS so you're essentially just guessing and even if they don't they can just run into you and still have time to vault or pallet drop after you cast in a loop. So I don't see it as a controller issue it's just an issue with the killer in general. The only viable closeish range shots are the horizontal ones where you stay slightly back and those are completely doable on controller.

Why when I reading the title i heard the tf2 sniper into theme?
0 -
The time on it its limited plus it needs to be done fast to not loose the LoS on survivor so Its very limited against people that arent very predictiable and run in straight line.
Survibor can easily doge now and hsve enough time to get to the window or pallet before she gets from cooldown back to her speed its way more punishing then missing with henry or other killers.
Like I said Im not controller user but from what I seen on Yt on some people playing on it and then against MK users doing it well the difference was huge its like comparing xeno main on MK against ceno main on console or trickster the difference in speed and accuracy is there and makes huge difference in success with this killer.
Ofcourse you can have different experience but I know how hardto nearly impossible sometimes can it be to hit people that are good with m2 from pyramidhead, henry and imagining it with this killer that is even harder probably his close m2 hits are one of hardest things in entire game without being some frame perfection tech so I dont think it will be easy like they maybe leave as it is but I see here krasue/artist problem like it will be too hard for majogity of people and unfun so they keave this killer to rot in the corner which isnt that great.
Personaly if they leave it as it is I will play it just for achivements and then leave it forever like pig untill they change it.

Let me put it this way.
I am a nurse main with almost 5k hours. I main nurse because she is by far the best killer in the game, and i want to win games. I don't say this to brag but i don't count "win streaks" or anything, but i legitimately cannot remember the last time i lost a game as nurse (maybe once a week or 2 i get a draw).
With all of that, if the judgement releases as is, i will become a judgement main.
I don't think the content creators are correct and she is not that difficult to play. She's definitely going to be more difficult than nurse, but it isn't some crazy mechanical skill that takes years to master. I suspect i will be winning games with her like i do nurse in a month at most after i have perfected my build with her.
2 -
Look nurse is not easy but its easier then henry (vecna 2.0) and many other killers even the mechanicaly easier ones because she playes on different scale a totaly different game where loops and obstackles change meaning.
Judgement is way harder especialy the closer you get, I dont denny she can be or be more better then now people think but from what I saw now she looks strong but very unreliable more like sniper killer that doesnt hook (which has impact on perks too).
We will see when she comes live what she will look like but now I have this opinon about her, good at range but terrible on close chase probably worse then 4,6 m/s base killer like trapper only thing that keeps her up is her range potencial and ability to bypass hooking so many strong meta perks like ds,shoulder etc.

I have all characters unlocked in the game but hearing how bad this killer is on controller I see no reason to buy her.
Sad it's a cool killer design it would be much better if this was just a dog skin for Houndmaster instead.
