What if only bodyblocks count towards MOM
My friend kinda mentioned how he has been using MoM for bodyblocks and it got me thinking.
What if the only way to get tokens was to take bodyblock hits? Then as killer you can avoid it by not hitting them while carrying, and as survivor you want take hits while the killer is carrying. Maybe even include protection hits too. That would make more of a specific use perk, as a body block perk. DS is the anti-tunnel, so I think something like this makes sense. It would work against all killers equally too, no exceptions.

I think this would be good, it promotes helping out your teammates

Or it only activates when you would body block. Aka when you would've received a WGLF stack from body blocking essentially. A body block perk I can get behind but ANOTHER chase extender I cannot.

I support. It even has a counter then in Mad Grit.

I think this is a wonderful idea for the perk. It will also make Ash feel more challenging. As a character people talk about him being so tough but since MoM is a bit easy to obtain there’s really no risk with it.

This change could be nice, I’ve also used it for body blocking so this wouldn’t heavily affect me. Mad grit might also actually be used.

Seems like a nice change, it also fits in with his perk flip flop more.

GREAT idea. Doubt the Devs would go for it though :/
2 -
do you mean you get the stacks like you do now, but all you gain is a “free” bodyblock? If so, that would be an absolute garbage perk. Not a single person would run that.

How does this sound?
METTLE OF MAN:
Evil always finds its way to you. Whenever you take 2 hits while the killer is carrying another survivor, Mettle of Man will activate. If Mettle of Man is activate while the killer is carrying another survivor, the next hit that would otherwise cause you to enter the dying state will be ignored. A successful Mettle of Man will reset upon use but you cannot gain any progress towards activation for the next 5/4/3 minutes.
Increases your chances of becoming the killer's obsession.

No, you take 3 body block or protection hits to activate it, then you get a free hit. Those kinds of hits are harder to come by and more risky, plus it applies equally to all killers.

Sorry this might be a double post as my reply seems to have disappeared after editing, but I understand what you are saying. I was questioning what blueberry meant in their reply.

Great idea ive also tried gaining tokens with bodyblocking against huntress etc (killers that csn counter it)

Yea and it makes it equal against all killers since no killers can use their power while carrying.
2 -
Well if you take a hit and it says "protection" it would count too. So it would work against m1 and powers as long as you are taking a hit for someone.

Yes this is an idea I would get behind, I think it's a very good one. Makes the perk interesting and useful for certain playstyles.

@Nickenzie Actually. Pretty decent.
(but would probably be used by SWF a lot)

Nice freaking change. Hope devs see it and implement it into the game :D

It's not a bad idea, but unfortunately people would only use it for the sake of being toxic. Even if being toxic isn't the survivor's intention, I can assure you that that's how most killers would perceive it.

Then those killers have psychological issues they need to work out. If someone is trying to use a perk it's not inherently toxic.

This is what MoM SHOULD have been.

I can guarantee you that 99% killers would thank the devs if they changed MoM into this, a bodyblocking perk, instead of what it is right now.
The other 1% still plays at R20.

I asked my friend about this idea and he liked it but we came to the conclusion it should be 2 hits instead of 3. I'm still for it though because it's 2 body block/protection hits.
1 -
2 protection / bodyblock hits = sponge 1 hit regardless of health state + exhaustion
Or
3 protection / bodyblock hits = sponge 1 injured to dying hit + exhaustion
Plus: The perk can be used multiple times in a trial, both options
Lose the useless aura reading in both options.
How about that? Sorry if I'm repeating or not giving credit to whoever may said it before

I like this a lot. Hopefully it changes to something close to this idea.

That would make me use it. I'm always throwing myself in front of others.
Sometimes it's even on purpose ~_^

sounds too situational and could be detrimental to your team. you'd need to stick near the killer while they chase someone and wait for them to go down to guarantee you can take a hit. not to mention most of the time taking a hit won't allow the person to wiggle free, so now you're injured and that time spent could've been put towards a gen. I'd just use a perk I know I could get value out of without hurting the team.

Yeah would be a good change for all the killers out there because survivors will just flock around the survivor that is being chased and wont do objectives.
Will be a joke of a perk that only swf will use.

You already can use it and do that if you want, you don't need any change for you to use it that way.

1. I should say this but DS isn't anti tunnler since you don't know who has DS until used so really makes tunnelling harder.
2. If you are constantly trying to take hit while survivor is being carried you are not doing gens and wasting time healing so it would hardly be used and waste time in the game

then I’d finally have a use for mad grit!

You’d be surprised how many people would body block with it anyways.
0 -
Yea it deters tunneling if you see an obsession. Someone could DS you. If you tunnel you either have to slug or eat DS. It's existence is what makes it anti-tunnel.
Taking a hit for someone is actually pretty easy. It adds a level of counter play for all killers and makes the requirements the same against all killers. You should be wanting to do it anyway, because there are a lot of instances I see nowadays where killer hits 1 person while carrying and they end up dropping the guy. If it succeeds it can buy you a LOT of time.

If body blocks were the only thing that counted it would be worthless
0 -
it should be worthless
0 -
yes.
there needs to be something the survivor has to do in order to gain his MoM stacks other than just screwing up 3 times.
also, that way the perk would work the same for every killer and no longer be a huge middle finger to each killer that is not billy.
i think this is necessary. not because the perk is "op" or sthg like that, but because i think it is simply bad designed.

It’d be worthless because you’d have to actually earn it? lol

Terrible idea. As in god awful idea. They might as well delete the perk instead.
