Why you should keep the Forum.
As people are obviously aware, this is an official forum for DBD. The fact that there is not tens of thousands of people is the reason why you can respond to anyone. I understand that Discord has a lot more people than DBD Forums but suggestions will become irrelevant. There will be thousands of messages at once, you will not be able to see any ideas.
Maybe this is strange but this forum almost feels cozy, to talk about suggestions and even though we didn't always agree it was great. Discord doesn't have that same feeling, it's too open. Like your inviting lots of people into your house that you don't even know.
Maybe you devs could leave it open and come back weekly to see what is going on. If you don't want to keep this open because of your team then you can leave. Keep it open for the people who do. I hope this isn't the end, you could even give to a streamer so they could keep it open. Seems a shame to get rid of a active DBD server, you will only push players away.

This Discord server has few channels, and the timeline moves quickly, so it’s not really suited for discussions. People send each other short messages, and in the meantime, someone else chimes in, so it’s easy to lose track of the conversation.
I decided to use Reddit for discussions like this. It might actually be a better place for this than Discord.

I will miss being able to sit down with a coffee in a leisurely way to browse threads, check up on ones I've posted and just vibe and express ideas/debate with people on here.
It's such a good format for giving feedback and suggesting ideas. Discord is atrocious for that. The messages just get instantly buried and it turns into a long fast moving stream of meaningless fluff.

Everytime an official community moves to Discord, it's just never the same. Everything is lost over there. The channels get flooded with side chat and other nonsense.

From what I gather, it looks to function a bit like a traditional forum only much worse. Like it will be our own little quarantined zone away from all the usual noisy chatter. I don't know. I'll probably stop by out of curiosity (more than anything else), but I'm pretty much done when it comes to participating in any future discussions after this place is gone. I honestly don't see many of the currently active forum refugees migrating over to Discord, either.

That is what I meant by Forums having a cozy feel. Much more quiet and simple 👍
