Mettle of Men is the new DS.
Mettle of men is really broken. Unless you are billy, leatherface, or huntress with insta-downs they get a "get out of jail free" card and there's nothing you can do about it. I thought that with the DS re-work we would finally start balancing the game, but this perk is even worse then old DS. Least with the old DS you can dribble too counter it, but Mettle of Man has no counter and no downside too using it. Pair this with Borrowed Time and no one dies. I came back too this for Ashe and too see how his perks affect the game and it is not good at all.

I call bait

And actually Huntress's skill will trigger it too (laugh
maybe Devs think it didnt work with the Nurse , then it goes perfect.

Low tier bait try again
I reccomend "MoM is the reason I am leaving this game"
4 -
No not even close.
Doesn't work with
Billy's Chainsaw
Nurse's Hit After Blink
Micheal Meyers Exposed
Leatherface Chainsaw
Wraith Hit After Uncloaking
Trapper When Stepping Trap
Spirit Hit After Phasing
.... Etc Etc Etc
It's so situational so it doesn't even come close to what DS used to be.

For the record, MOM not workign on the Nurse is a bug.
1 -
I dont know about it being that good, as even with nurse it's just means a longer chase, but that might be because most people are using it yet.

And my Claudette loves it with BL, OoO and DS.

You must adapt to change. I started learning huntress after MoM was released.
2 -
1) u can't always m2 survivors, especially not smart survivors who know that u try to avoid MoM with m2
2) it's a bug, fixed soon
3) u can't always be EW3, u can't always use unlimited EW3 addons (besides how bad that addon is)
4) look 1)
5) look 2)
6) yeah, cuz u can absolutely control survivors stepping into your traps. It's 100% up to the survivor.
7) look 2)
There is no etc etc.
Huntress and Plague can semi avoid it, that's it. Great counters lol

Also you say there are no down sides but once you heal your aura is always shown to the killer until they down you.
I havent used the perk but it seems that it only prolongs your downing.
1 -
@TheRoyalOwl the aura doesn’t affect me since I run OoO.
0 -
True but most people dont run those types of perks as they can be quite risky.

It does work with chainsaw ect if you are in injured state. It negates every hit in injured state that would put you in dying state.
Either it was bugged when I tested it or you should test it for yourself.
Nurse Blink hit is a bug. Exploiting a bug isn't a counter.

The stacks need to be basic attacks, but what puts you from injured into dying can be whatever. Once 3 Stacks are on MoM, when you are injured you can be hit by a Hatchet, Chainsaw, whatever, as long as it would put you from injured to dying, it will negate this Hit.
So you are correct on that.
But I would not call it "exploiting a bug", because you cannot expect people to not play Nurse until it is fixed.

So MoM have a harder time to get stacks against M2 killers, but as soon the have MoM active the basically have invurnability mode on until they get hit. They even can tank NOED hits for their buddies.
Edit: that leaves you with instasaw Billy as the only viable killer after the bugfix in the entire game.
And camping becomes the only consistent counter against MoM for non M2 Killers.

It's not as strong as DS, but it is extremely powerful, especially in the end game in which killers are already extremely weak.
It's an overpowered perk for sure.
Survivor mains:
RaNcOr aNd NoED iS Op BeCaUsE OnE HiT.
Also survivor mains:
PeRk wHicH mAkEs YoU SuCCeSfUlLy DoDgE a HiT wItHoUt AnY sKiLL rEqUiErEd Is PerFeCtLy baLAnCeD, bUt PlEaSe NeRf nOEd, iTs so Oo OoOoO oVeRPoweReEed.
These arguments doesn't make any sense, they never did.
Basically in 1 year you can only play the tutorial, because every killer has already switched to survivor.

@mcNuggets ... Where did you get "Rancor is OP"?
I'm really curious.

It's worse than the old DS. At least you had a chance to prevent it from activating as all Killers. You cannot prevent MoM from activating if you are an M1 Killer. I'm not really surprised though. Too many Survivors refused to get good after the loss of Decisive Crutch and whined their asses off.
As for nerfing it, I would make the Killer's swing go through the Survivor or act like it hit an object instead of playing the full successful hit animation and maybe increase the range where the Killer can't see your aura (not sure by how much though).

Having your Aura revealed is no downside if you can run the Killer around for ages. It can also be prevented for the longest time thanks to a 99% heal strat.
2 -
If you can run the killer around for ages than what's the point in using the perk in the first place?
0 -
Because it's yet another safety net perk, like DS. The problem with those perks is that people who don't need them are the ones who get the most out of them.
1 -
It's not that bad, Jesus! The quicker you hit them and down them, the quicker you get rid of it.
Takes 3 hits to get and after the fourth one... It's gone. Play more aggressive. Plus the downside to it is when the survivor is healed the killer can see their aura from a certain range.
So no more hide n seek. Stop complaining about the perk and try to play better. I genuinely do not care if they have it or not, because I down survivors really quick.
Oh, this survivor has MoM... Guess what I just downed them 5secs later.
1 -
I ran MoM for a dozen games just to see how bad the hype is as I dont see it as that powerful.
It maybe popped once or twice, and only ever in stupidly altruistic bs.
Unless you go out of your way to use it, or the fabled less than 10% sweaty 4 mans run it all together, its REALLY not as bad as people want it to be.
Didnt go off against legion or plague because the injuring beforehand. By the time it was active i was dead on hook.
Tried one game even pairing it with DS to ensure I could try it out. Got Morid.
Even as killer, it's more of a," oh, they did that. Okay I'll just hit them again unless theres someone else standing next to me".
I just dont get hiw everyone thinks this is so broken overpowered when at best its situational and risky.
1 -
In other words, it only went off when survivors played stupidly. Instead of being punished for it, survivors were rewarded and the killer was punished.
And you wonder why people don't like this perk.
2 -
In other words, its not as abuseable as people want to think.
I didnt mean stupid potato plays. I mean like 2 hooked in the basement and we went in knowing full well we were dead.
If a 100% potato has it, chances are it wont activate, or if it does they wont escape with it...
We could argue that borrowed time only activates when the killer is playing poorly (camping) or that NOED rewards killers when BOTH sides play poorly.
We could argue that left behind rewards survivors for the rest playing stupidly.
It doesnt change that it's still less useable than those.
It also doesnt change the fact that it rewards the killer with an aura. Or penalizes the survivor by showing theirs. Depending on how you want to word it.

I completely forgot about the 99% heal strat. I would either prevent the Survivor from healing past a certain threshold (around 70-90%) until the perk is used and have your healing progress bar reset upon the activation of the Endurance effect (when the Killer hits you and you light up, not when you see the effect's symbol appear on the side of the screen). I'd love to see the look on the Survivors' faces when they realize that they wasted all that time healing only for it go away after I hit them.
