The freddy rework
So I guess its officially coming huh? All the time I took to learn this killer and make him viable all worthless? Well, all I'm hoping is that this rework will reward us who mained him and took the time to learn him. This rework better be good

I don't have any idea how they can make him top tier.
Even if he becomes upper mid tier I will be happy. They said next month they will share more information though, so we will have to wait for a complete rework a lot.

If it's an improvement I'm fine with a completely new power. Current power is alright but there are far too many ways to exploit Freddy. I'm sure it's going to be great as they took their time with it and this is basically Freddy's last shot so they have to get it right. I'll patiently look forward to next month.

@Kilmeran sym rework was needed. They couldn't just buff her. Freddy is something different, he could be made much more viable with a few QoL buffs. However, I will be open to seeing the results if this rework, it could be something completely better, more enjoyable and fun. But if it's not, then I fear my favorite killer will be ruined

@PhantomMask20763 I was referring to the matter of the Sym rework actually doing nothing to make her viable outside of the same Bronze-Gold ranks, i.e. the low ranks. While at the same time alienating most the Sym mains out there.
Unless Freddy's rework actually increases his viability toward the higher ranks (and not just with the select few who can already make him work up there), it's just the same damned thing.

Lie is a strong word, but they're not above backpedaling and being misleading.
The optimization patch is a big one, same day release promised with pig followed by a month delay for 2.0.0, the constant "hatch/ds/freddy reworks are totally coming" promises, their mishandling of the deranking thing recently (where they promised an official comment in a dev stream and nothing, except to deny deny deny any issues with FW breaking rules) etc. Etc.
Just gotta wait and see.

Until the results are shown. It's all just talk, till then, expectations remain the same. Should be good nonetheless, if it isn't, then that rework time will be a complete waste. Only time will tell, because a devs vision compared to a players at times are different. Just like the first idea of nerfing Freddy in the first place was a "good" idea, meanwhile it wasn't. I very rarely saw Freddy Mains beeing even able to master half toxic Players on Rank 8's. Since im playing this Game for 2 Years and longer I never really NEVER saw Freddy Mains on Rank 4 (red rank).
Freddy is LOW tier. His power NEEDS just to be better. Dont tell me anything else and not hurr blurr people because some People think its only hard to master. I've been in so many Community Party's like literally EVERYONE which is nice in this game and EVEN just only half great in this game, knows how to dodge an Freddy Main super Easy.
People are actually paying Money for this weak Killer, thats why they all want a COMPLETELY REWORK not only any QoL changes.

I feel kinda sad because there is no doubt Freddy can be considered weak but from what I've heard from some Freddy mains is that he is actually viable if you learn to master his power. Just hope for all the Freddy mains out there that the rework is actually good and fun to play as would be sad otherwise.

Oh no, the first DLC they announced that would come out on the same day had a one day difference, all subsequent updates & DLCs since then have come out on the same day within hours of each other.
"The constant Hatch/DS/Freddy".
DS has been changed, they're showing us something for next week about end game which is probably something to do with around the hatch, as well.
"Mishandling of Deranking" It quite clear the devs take their time in doing things, you know like DS etc, you think everything should be done instantly and have band aid fixes instead of full, thought out updates.
There is no "disconnecting" rule, the FWs aren't doing anything that other players aren't, there is clearly a threshold of DCs that will get you banned, if you play a lot your threshold is probably significantly higher.
It's quite obvious people on this forum think that small band aid changes should be added every week instead of dealing with the issue in it's entirety in one big update.
How has anything you've said been back peddled or mislead?

I love playing as freddy and I do really well most games with him. Am I the only one who hates fighting against him as survivor? My entire team almost always dies. Do you guys have any tips for facing current freddy?

The rework happens, and he becomes so OP people ######### and moan about it until he gets legion status, and then even the veterans who made him viable pre change wont want to touch him.
It's a shame that so many people refused to learn him and cried rework. I've seen NASTY Freddys.

2nd- I play both, mainly survivor, and rarely freddy.
3rd- I said prediction for after rework. Not current.
4th- how long you've played doesnt mean ######### if you dont pay attention. I've played for almost a year, and while I dont know EVERYTHING I know enough that I wouldnt be able to determine what someone else does and doent experience. Stop trying to gatekeep.

As a (former - I don’t really play Overwatch anymore) Symmetra main whose rework completely alienated me from Symmetra and the game itself, I really hope this isn’t the case with Freddy.
Freddy is accessible and right up my alley as someone who is disabled and can’t make use of precision killers, as well as someone who adores his aura reading capacity.
Please don’t do Freddy and us Freddy players dirty like what was done to Symmetra.

@Carpemortum I don't think that will happen. And the current Freddy is so weak, he is helpless against aggressive survivors. He really needs his rework. Let's hope for the best. :)

@pemberley I still play Overwatch, though a hell of a lot less nowadays. Been there since midway through Beta. And yeah, her rework completely screwed you guys over. The icing on the cake was that her rework (and even the minor buffs since then) did absolutely nothing to make her any more viable above Gold rank than she was before. She's still a niche Hero that will get you reported in the higher competitive ranks.
I've no doubt that Freddy's power and play style are being changed on a "Symmetra" level. But if he isn't more viable at the higher ranks, than it's the same thing for nothing that Symmetra went through.

He can be BUT he can't pass right now any R8's or less toxic and/or half toxic Players.
