NOED Balance Idea

NOED is something the DbD community has, and will always, argue about. One side will always be unhappy with any change, thinking it as Survivor sided or Killer sided. That being said, I don't expect people to like this idea since it could make me seem like an entitled survivor main in the eyes of the killer mains. I just want to voice an idea I had and would like feed back telling me why it could and couldn't work

I personally think an easy way to change NOED to be more balanced is by changing how totems work with NOED and possibly other HEX perks

Rather then only lighting up when the gates are powered, it could give off a soft light that gets a little brighter when a gen is done, then to it's full brightness when all gens are done

So in the beginning it would look normal and once a gen is done, you would only notice it if you knew what you were looking for, and so on

This can also be the opposite for Thrill, it would start to lose it's light for every dull totem broken and be left with a small light by the time it's the only one

Lullaby could also be included in this, growing brighter as you get more tokens

    no.

that way it would literally never activate.

NOED is a punishment for survivors who failed at their secondary objective. it can be prevented from activating at all, just by survivors cleansing the totems instead of genrushing like hell.

imo, NOED should light up any remaining totem instead of just one, to punish survivors who didnt give any ######### about totems and allow players who took down 3 or 4 to deal with the perk easier. we could also say it reveals all totem locations to all players.

that way it serves as a punishment to players who failed the objective and the ones that came close to fullfilling it wont have such a hard time taking it down.

Buffing NOED is not the way to go with this. Survivors don't have enough reasons to destroy dull totems. Survivors breaking totems for 1 out of how many perks in the game? NOED cushions killers for not playing aggressively enough to win by the time gates are powered. Like Sprint Burst cushions survivors that get found by the killer while hiding.

That won't fix anything, that will buff NOED, which it doesn't need in the slightest since tier one now has the inta-down

What I prompted to change makes it to where survivors who are already looking for the totem to spot it easier based on it's closeness to activating

The brightness would be very hard to spot if you didn't know what to look for, then it would get a tiny bit lighter as another gen gets done

With the new totem hiding places and maps like Swamp and The Game, this would be perfect so that survivors aren't punished for the killers mistakes

Also, think about it, if the survivors don't have the time to check totems because the killer is doing as they should (playing aggressively enough to get hooks and downs). Then why should the survivors get killed for the killer not being able to find/catch them long enough for all the gens to be done? NOED is a bit OP unless the killer is bad enough for survivors to have the time to cleanse totems on the way

NOED is a trash overrated perk a waste of a slot not saying it needs a buff but would much rather use other perks

New totem hiding places? What new totem hiding places.

I can't remember the last time i got hit with a NOED.

The totems are laughable, they did add some new ones but because of their rules of totems must be X distance apart you can still calculate which AREA they are in.

It will take me couple mins to find them all even without small game if you have a friend helping you can get them all before the killer even gets their first hook.

What you are suggesting is a massive survivor buff plain and simple.
