Insidious still broken after almost 3 years
Insidious
Unlocks the stealth ability.
By standing still for 4/3/2 seconds, you reduce your Terror Radius to 0 metres and thus become stealthy until you move or act again.
So we just ignore the fact that those 2 seconds are actually more like 6 seconds? If it was actually 2 seconds some Killers might consider using this perk for more than just hook camping.

So I'm not crazy? It always seemed like the timer is accurate but I had to "sit still" for a second or two to let it start. I haven't used it in a long time though.

What other uses than hook camping would you expect. You can technically already use it for a gen ambush, if the map and circumstances allow it, but in general a perk which requires you to stand still to activate is even with a two second timer a too big time waster with a minimal outcome compared to other perks.
Besides that, yeah if it's bugged they should fix it. I haven't used it for quite some time. But I remember one year ago, when I did a trapper basement meme game, that it already triggered, while setting traps. Timing seemed to work back then.

I can't answer that question but the timer is definitly longer than 2 seconds :-)
I'm thinking of mindgames with Pig (fake ambush), Spirit (fake phase walk while out of LoS), Wraith (fake cloaking) and Hag could probably make use of it aswell.
With good timing it could also be used to avoid Borrowed Time when you see a Survivor going for an unsafe unhook while you're still near the hook.

your terror radius doesn't instantly dissapear, it shrinks quickly, that's why it takes so long

Yep it's still bugged, and its still one of the most useless perks out there

I never used this perk before, but from what I have seen, it looks like 6 seconds

It's not bugged.
Devs have explained why it does what it does currently.
They want Insidious to make it look like you're going away.
Insidious takes 2 seconds to activate.
Once it does, the Terror Radius starts shrinking over the course of ~4 seconds.
That's what you see on your Insidious Perk icon ingame.

Are you sure of that?
It definitly feels like the TR starts to shrink once the perk is actually done clocking and not DURING that process.
E: No doubt it shrinks your TR but I'm doubting the statement that it does that during the clocking of the perk.

That i do not know.
Maybe you can get someone to test it out with you in Kill Your Friends?

Good killers dont need insidious to camp

I like to use insidious with Myers. First you fill your Evil untill you are about to get to tier III. Down a survivor with two normal hits, hook it, hide and wait for the rescuers. When they come, get to tier III and beggin the bloodbath. I once got to down the other 3 like that. Silly survivors.

Honestly, I would like for Insidious to be given a aura reading ability. Like a distance of 4/8/12 meters. So that it can be used as a actual ambush perk.
As it stands, it is only really used to camp, which is a shame, I see great potential for a jumpscare build.

@RoKrueger I used to think you were the killer personification of evil on this forum but this is actually partly beautiful as an idea, wouldn't consider using it for camping as I don't camp and never thought insidious was useful as a result but imagine this on an unsafe/walled/low visibility gen (with discordance of course), amazing. Would be difficult to pull off and require immense stealth but sounds like a fun challenge.

Would be more viable for Freddy in this current state since you would be able to see where the person is going, but definitely the timer feels longer than 2 seconds and it needs to be fixed if it really is broken.

It’s great for making AFK look like a strategy tho.
But really I think it’s a great perk for doctors. Pretending to be a decoy lol.

Camping it's a strategy... :))) a bad one but still . it's true that sometimes being camped makes us dc or just to take a break from the game , but it's a strategy. i like to call it "chicken strategy" :)
