Casual survivors that cant juke killer is a reason for anti tunnel perk.
New ds is just ridiculous. If you want an anti tunnel perk at least make it anti tunnel not 60seconds immunity perk. It s so ridiculous that devs are trying to balance the game around casuals. What s next? How about a killers perk for survivors to not be able to touch same gens?

Like Corrupt Intervention?
It's a well-known fact that the developers do not balance their game around the high ranks. It's a party game.

The reason for an anti-tunnel perk is because the killer tunnels. 60 seconds is long but can be countered by slugging.
I love the new ds, tunneling and camping has been a problem in dbd for so long and finally there is a perk that helps the survivor in this situation.

A unhooks B, Killer downs B, Kills A with a mori, and hooks C, B gets DS.
How was Killer tunneling?

The new DS would be a lot better if it got deactivated when the killer hooks another survivor after the DS user got unhooked. How it currently works, it also punishes killers who don't tunnel but down survivors fast.

The moment he downed B. Should be obvious.

Like you said, that can be countered by slugging. When a survivor makes the selfish decision to unhook a teammate before I've even had a chance to leave, i feel bad putting them right back on the hook. I'll slug them and go after the selfish one.

DS is fine now, calm down mate,

Um, no. Killers who tunnel a survivor down from the start are the reason for the perk. Seriously, it kills me how few get that this is a casual game that relies on both sides playing solidly in order to maximize the experience. Think about all the changes they have put in.
1. PIP system changes. It relies on a killer who spreads the damage out. Survivors are not likely to pip if the killer camps or focuses on 1 survivor. Does not matter if you do all 5 gens and open the gate and escape. Zero pip at best. Survivors need a killer who will engage them all and pressure the map in order to pip. Killers need survivors who can last a little bit in a chase, and who will rescue other survivors from hooks. If every survivor drops after 10 seconds of chase and dies on the first hook, the killer is not going to pip.
Both sides need to be solid and of comparable skill in order to maximize the points.
2. Legion changes. It is clear they intended for Legion to pressure the map and spread out DW, keeping survivors off gens and healing/mending. Original des8failed spectacularly due to a lack of foresight into how good at tunneling Legion is. Lazy killer's dream.
I can go on, but in the interest in brevity, I'll save you from reading a novel here. Tunneling is useful at times. I refuse to use it early in game, but if the game is hitting the ten minute mark and it can swing either way, I might take out that survivor that was seriously hard to catch who just got off his 2nd hook and is running in my direction. With him gone, I might secure this match. At that point, I'm confident all the players have had some fun, and I know I've engaged them all by now because that is my playstyle, I pressure the field and capitalize on mistakes. I run Trapper because he is fun to set the field with.
Tunneling as a full strategy...no thanks. Fish in a barrel is more difficult to kill than using that strategy.

Sometimes it's unfortunate as killer because you dont mean to find them so fast but it happens. If I do get hit by ds I don't care because it's my fault for chasing them so soon after the unhook. I try and 3 hook everyone as best as I can but if I down someone 3 times really early in the game I'll just leave them and let them be healed.
I had a game the other day where someone was unhooked infront of me with corrupt purge. Downed them both instantly and even though I had a mori I felt bad and left the unhooked survivor on the ground to be healed.

OMG
Ds wasn't balanced before the nerf, now it is.
It's still extremely strong however.
Survivor perks in general are totally overpowered so why do you even complain?
Get some skill and play the game.

I have only got hit by new DS twice so far lol

Old ds was weaker but thats not complaining thread perk is fine but the problem rather is it does the job for you. You cant handle tunneling just take ds.

@mcNuggets where was i complaining

I've seen D'S like twice since the nerf... just dont tunnel off hook and you're fine?

If all three of them went down in less than a minute then I don’t know why you’re complaining.

On behalf of all survivors Thank You

Yes! This so much, both sides playing 'fair' in order for all to have a good time, even if you lose. I went against Meyers with Scratched Mirror in the hospital, and it was one of the most tense matches ever! He didn't camp, or tunnel, and I died but I still had a blast. It's not a professional-style game, it's meant for fun, thrilling gameplay on a more casual level (casual as in friendly, party play, not people who don't play many games). Like playing Hide & Seek, you want everyone to play by some 'guidelines' in order to have a decent match.
And again, you expect a bad one every now and then, getting camped or tunneled out of the game really early on because people rescue you within seconds, but if it happens too often you really want to stop playing. But it's not the game that's the problem, it's the players. This has the best potential for any game of this category, and we want it to be the thrilling experience we're looking for, not hook simulator with some DCs and some shady tactics. I know there are a lot of valid styles depending on circumstance, but to ruin someone else's experience intentionally is just not the right thing to do, in any game. There's a counter-argument that this is how they have fun, but that's not how multi-player games ought to be played, in my opinion. We're all here together, killers and survivors, and we want our beloved game to thrive and gain more players, not lose more because of the toxic behavior (referring to communication as well, we all need to lighten up and not take things so hard. No one should ever get a death threat or told to kill themselves, threats of cancer/etc just because you died, escaped, or didn't win).

@TreemanXD why killer s punished for playing good? I can down survivor in less than sixty s hook him and then pick up survivor that had ds and gets punished for that? I had it happened to me several times. First of all tunneling is effective strategy for killer why he cant tunnel ? Because casuals cant juke killer? they re bad ? You even get exhaustion perk active after you got saved next step for you is to juke killer or just stay longer at chase. Why people want perk to play for them? With this go on you may as well equip 4 perks that play for you and go afk. Then lets give killers same perk that prevents 3-4 survivors from sitting on different gens because it effective and ends game earlier.
