Endgame Collapse Hype
Finally, something new for the game. I'm honestly excited about it. No more matches where people straggle behind creating extremely long games of hide & seek. No more hatch stand-offs. No more taking the game hostage. I think this may just be a great move towards a healthier gameplay experience. How do you guys think this will affect Dead by Daylight?

Well now survivors can be lazy and not do a single gen and still be guaranteed someone's got a shot at escaping. Way better than the old system where they had to get at least 2 gens done before someone had a shot at hatch. Sounds awesome. Hype is real.

I'm glad it makes the end more playable. Don't like guessing if that last survivor is hiding to troll me or is legit trying to find the hatch. At least now things can be wrapped up, either it be good or bad.
2 -
Great job devs! This looks absolutely stunning. Can't wait for PS4 release.
4 -
How do you figure? The survivors still need 2 gens for the hatch to appear when there is one survivor left. Which now the killer can close the hatch.
NOED is already a strong endgame perk. Running that with this new endgame makes being hooked in the basement a death sentence for sure now. I am consurned how this works with blood warden.
1 -
Also, Pig's reverse bear traps are going to force the survivor to stay in the trial during the endgame collapse.
2 -
The bear traps and Blood Warden are two of the things I'm most excited about with this new update. I love the idea. It's great. Killer can close the hatch, but that powers the exit gates, so that's fair, survivors still have a chance. Just less of a chance. 3 minutes is a long time, especially if the timer slows or pauses when someone gets downed or hooked.
3 -
What? I will have to re-watch that. I hope not because even as a survivor main that is bull #########.
1 -
@rexydon I think it's compensation for survivors that just get absolutely destroyed by the killer early in the game.
3 -
@Incirion I can't wait to test it all out. It's a refreshing change in my opinion.
1 -
@rexydon doesn't matter if the hatch spawns or not, because the killer can close it and force the survivor to open an exit gate instead.
@Saint_Ukraine This might actually bring me back into playing killer. In the video there's a part where the collapse begins when all 4 survivors are alive, and there are 4 gens left. So I think the killer will be able to open the door at any time during the trial. Which means if the survivors are being particularly douchy, you can force them out without a d/c.

-
@Saint_Ukraine at 36 seconds into the video, it's following a dwight, 4 people left alive, 4 generators left to be repaired, and the collapse begins.

These changes look good, I'm hyped. I really wanted a timer for the end-game. No more taking the game hostage, finally! 😊
2 -
@Incirion Well, they mentioned that closing the hatch starts the endgame collapse as well, so I would assume that is what happened. And the exit gates are powered after the hatch is closed, I believe.
0 -
Yea, but how was the hatch OPEN if all four survivors were still there, and alive? @Saint_Ukraine
0 -
@Incirion they used the dev console. That situation can't happen in the real game
3 -
Well that's boring. Guess I'll still just d/c if I'm not having fun.
1 -
@Incirion I don't think it would make much sense for the killer to just open the exit gates whenever. What would be the point in that? What killer would want to be able to just give the survivors a win?
0 -
@Saint_Ukraine Giving the survivors the win if I'm not enjoying the game and want to move on to the next one. So I don't have to spend 10 minutes waiting for the survivors to do the last generator.
1 -
@Incirion So the hatch is luck based now and no skill at all.
Whoever happens upon it first wins pretty much?...
Can't even deny the rng face off anymore with 2 gens requirement going.
0 -
@Bbbrian2013 If killer finds the hatch first and closes it, that powers the exit gates, so the survivor still has a chance of escaping.
0 -
@Incirion Not at all. Play billy/nurse/legion and equip whispers.
You'll know what gate they're near by the perk being lit up. If it turns off rush to the other one.
Repeat for 3 minutes and they won't have an opportunity. If they're ever spotted in the process they're dead.
Especially if remember isn't reworked that'd be brutal.
0 -
I suppose that's a possibility.
0 -
but they have a CHANCE
2 -
im soo hyped for the change:)
2 -
This seems like a really good idea and looks amazing. No more holding the game hostage :D
2 -
@Bbbrian2013 I believe the devs said they'd be reworking remember me and other perks due to this new endgame phase being implemented.
0 -
I'm very excited for this change. It fairly addresses the end game issues for both sides.
1 -
I like this end game collapse except for one thing, why is bhvr rewarding survivors for not completing gens, being super altruistic, or being potatoes in general, by giving them the hatch at any gen, so that means survivors can have a free escape at 5 gens left.
0 -
I agree:)
0 -
Yes it's a nice buff for both pig and BW both were in need
1 -
It looks awesome, and I honestly can't wait. Now all we need is Feng Min's bunny hoodie and we'll be all set =)

Taking the game hostage really isn't a problem on PS4, I'm assuming you all play PC. The real problems in PS4 are exploiting game mechanics, camping, tunnelling etc.
0 -
@HURRI_KAIN Killers do that on PC also. That isnt "exploiting game mechanics" those are legitimate strategies to secure kills.
0 -
Interested in it overall minus the Killer body blocking the basement stairs being confirmed sacrifices aspect. They didn't think that one through.
Simply basement hook someone early game and body block the stairs when they are rescued. You now get 2 kills even if you stand there for the rest of the match. Poor design.
1 -
@DaGreenBolt It's not free. The killer can close the hatch, and the survivor will still need to open an exit gate in order to escape. If you're good enough at gate patrolling, you should be able to get the survivor.
0 -
@VexTheHex so don't go to the basement and get body blocked. It's really THAT simple to avoid this outcome.
0 -
You clearly aren't thinking it through. Run Iron Grasp or Agitation. Basement hook the first catch. If anyone goes for the save, stand in the stairs. Even if this is before any gens are done, you now get 2 free kills. They can't leave.
0 -
@VexTheHex I wonder what they'll do to stop the killer from body blocking basement.
0 -
Hopefully they do something. It'll be a pretty huge blow to the game play. Sadly the loudest players on the forums are Killer mains, so this issue will likely be swept under the rug. But this scenario is too easy to pull off and too toxic (?) to slide.
And to be clear, I'd overall excited for this mechanic and to see how it plays out. But this issue is pretty game breaking if it slides in.
0 -
@VexTheHex and in this situation you've described, the killer would leave the game with less than 10,000 blood points. Can you please tell me why this even sounds anything remotely like a good idea? If someone gets hooked in the basement, don't go to the basement when the killer is around. The end. Get over it.
0 -
@Saint_Ukraine Hopefully nothing, because it will stop the very legitimate strategy of body blocking to wait out borrowed time. If you get trapped in the basement and the killer chooses to waste his time standing there until the game is over, then that's the same as getting face camped. They won't do anything about that, so why would they do anything about this?
0 -
@VexTheHex I imagine people will just start telling others that they should just leave if someone gets hooked in the basement.
1 -
You clearly don't pay attention to our community that loves to wack people on hooks, DC at anything they don't like, teabag at exits, and do anything to annoy the other side. This strategy will be used just as the old days of face camping existed. Players will exploit things and this isn't even remotely difficult to exploit.
Hag Mint Rag. Insidious. Wraith. Nurse/Billy mobility. Spirit/Legion lesser extent mobility.
It's an issue, I'm not "getting over it." If you're not looking into exploiting the issue, then you should have ZERO concerns with it being fixed. The end.
0 -
@Incirion It just seems like a lame way to punish a survivor for being altruistic.
0 -
@VexTheHex @Saint_Ukraine It is an issue, but it's also an issue with a VERY SIMPLE COUNTER. I have issues with their "fix" to this, breaking other things.
0 -
@VexTheHex A similar concept already exists: The Pig's activated RBTs. If the pig bodyblocks a survivor somewhere, the survivor will also die because of the exploding RBT.
2 -
And they've done absolutely nothing to fix this issue. Because it isn't an issue. Because "If you're going to die, it's not holding the game hostage, it's securing a kill"
