So the last survivor will die 100% when the hatch got closed?
I watched the video twice and it seems like that the survivor will die no matter what once the killer closed the hatch. The killer/survivor could basically go afk cuz there is no point to try right?
Tbh, it sounds like a punch into the face for solo survivors again. The idea of McLean back then was much better, cuz it took skill on both sides instead of luck who founds it first.
Well, at least hatch standoff and holding game hostage will (hopefully) be history now, finally.
But the mechanic around the last survivor is hitting solo survivors to much imo, I was really excited about a skillful chase with the last survivor

Yes. No longer free hatch for you.

As I understand it, once the hatch is closed, the gates will be powered.
23 -
When he closed the hatch, the exit gates got powered, therefore the remaining survivor can try and open them.
14 -
It powers the exit gates.
5 -
The gates are powered once the hatch is closed. 0:29-0:32 of the video. You're welcome.
6 -
Oh really? Alright.
Then I see another issue: the killer could stand in front the hatch holding the game hostage or not? And once the survivor approaches he just closes it and gets his chase and wins 100%? Or am I mistaken?

What u talking about? Are u tilted or something?

Do the gens.
8 -
But the gens can't be done, they are blocked or not? I'm confused lol
0 -
the are blocked IF KILLER CLOSE THE HATCH
0 -
So nurse and billy can just bounce back and forth between the gates at high speed until the timer ends. Some of these maps are stupid for having the gates appear so close to each other that any killer can patrol it rather easily.
10 -
Darn, had never issues with understanding a video lol. Either their wording is to complicated or I need a rest.
0 -
You are mistaken. If the killer is camping the hatch then the survivor can work gens. If the killer closes the hatch then all gens are blocked and the exit gates are powered. The survivor can then open an exit gate, but there is a 3 minute timer so they can't just dink around.
0 -
They're only blocked if the killer closes the hatch. And if that happens, the gates are powered, so you don't even need to repair them.
They could do that before as well. The difference is that now it has a timer.
0 -
Yeah they could do that before, but eventually they may get sloppy - any fool can maintain that for 3 minutes. They also had 3 places they had to watch with the hatch.
0 -
If the killer blocks the hatch you can bait the hit or work on gens
0 -
So you'd rather wait until a killer gets sloppy, which could take dozens of minutes, maybe even hours?
0 -
you clearly didnt watch the video twice. goodness me
1 -
I'd rather not play - not solo anymore anyway. It's too common for solo to find themselves stuck in this situation.
3 -
Well nurse/billy just got a buff.
I hope they buff wake up so it's actually useful for opening the gates.
4 -
Dont hide and run for find the hatch before the killer
0 -
If killer closes the hatch you then get two possible exit routes. Its a good thing.
0 -
Unless they like putting the exit gates so close together they are easy to patrol. Since the timer doesn't start until a gate opens anyway this is still a means the game could be 'held hostage'. I personally liked having three possible exit routes.
3 -
If the killer closes the hatch... it should F that survivor.
Especially if no gens got done.
Does a survivor that was apart of a team that got 0 gens done really deserve an escape anyways?
2 -
That's always been the way. The last person alive can be the one who did diddly squat for the whole match and is benefiting from everyone else's work by getting hatch.
0 -
@darktrix good news! Now you don't have to! Instead the entity can Kill you so you can play a round where that doesn't happen
0 -
Yay...
1 -
The timer starts when the Killer closes the hatch. Did you even watch the video?
0 -
Nope they can get one of the two exit gates open. Think about this. They don't have to do any gens and still have a shot at escaping. Killers are happy about this. Lulz.
0 -
If anything Quentin perks will probably become more useful for players, such as wake up.
2 -
I might just become a killer main... not looking forward to waiting three minutes just to die because the gates are close together.
1 -
Wait a minute... what is "The idea of McLean back then" ?
15 -
Where do you get that the hatch will appear with 0 gens done?
0 -
From where they explicitly said it in the video?
2 -
Yes, explain yourself. He doesn't have ideas.
jk don't ban me.
0 -
killer closes the hatch means the doors get triggered.
you can no longer repair gens plus the 3 minute timer starts, but you can open the gates and leave.
i think thats how it works

The survivors not getting a free escape and have to work for it? Crazy talk right? XD
1 -
I've never seen anyone go to such mental gymnastics in an attempt to defend needlessly insulting people like RSB is here over labeling people virgins.

@Mclean
If I’m not mistaken I believe they are referring to the idea when the survivor is hooked and killed, the last survivor survivor aura will be revealed for x amount of secs. Also blood warden becoming base kit for end game.
0 -
Maybe a survivor takes one for the team but even so, it can be countered by having perks like Adrenaline, if the hatch is closed, exit gates can be opened, allowing for the end game boost.
0 -
You did an amazing job. From the bottom of my heart: Thank you very much for the end game changes <3

To surrender, or to force some endgame perks to activate.

To trigger bloodwarden.

The scenario of a killer guarding the hatch but not closing it is a little bit complicated. It really depends on the map placement and stuff what you can do. E.G. you can look for a gen with a lot quick accesible hiding possibilites and finish it.
Now even if it's a high mobility killer and they rush to the finished gen, you have a good opportunity to sneak past them towards your freedoom. Another opportunity is to 99% all gens, which still needs to be done far away from the hatch. Finish them and manage to sneak past the approaching killer. Opening a gate.
Well to be fair, actually doing a gen and hoping you can somehow sneak past the killer, if they approach is actually the only strategy if I think about it. In situations, when map design or the general situations make any "sneaking" scenarios impossible, you already lost. Maybe try it. Get found and killed and move towards the next match.

Survivors: Rather than use certain sets of perks or something new to help combat the new difficulties of the game, complain.
It's not that hard to just play differently, it's more fun that way, for killers too.

To those saying otherwise, there is absolutely nothing in the video stating that the exits are powered once the hatch is closed. It may be true, but it is not stated in the video. You can watch it as many times as you like, specifically the 0:30 through 0:40 segment, but it doesn’t say what many of you are assuming.
