Why do you hate the PTB pig nerfs?

ShyN3ko
ShyN3ko Member Posts: 1,616

EGC timer: 3~6 min

RBT timer: 2,5 min

BW timer: 1 min

My opinion:

It destroyed the end game pig playstyle.

So the devs force me to not play end game pig.

I hate this aspect.

Killers should have freedom.

It definetly crushed my end game Pig build, for sure. My concern is that these changes are only going to remove some killer diversity. I expect to see more Hillbillies and Nurses if they continue to unnecessarily harm the middle tier killers.

I don’t hate it because I don’t keep my traps for endgame. Don’t get why 150% of all Pig players are suddenly playing end game Pig. In days where everyone is complaining about gens getting done too fast it’s strange to see this many people who can’t wait for survivors to get the gens done so they can finally start playing.

Plus, my favourite aspect of the Pig is still her ambush attack to outplay survivors in chases. Much more fun and more interactive than RBTs that you just put on and then let them go to get them off at some box. And that ambush has just been buffed earlier this year, which changed way more for Pig play than the current PTB changes.

it was a rly little buff.

And the buff made 1 addon useless.

Now I have only 3 "good" addons.

And its rly dumb to lose the killer power, because end game is active.

Because devs killed all of her potential to be a top tier killer because they want to give survivors easy escapes.

If It was up to me I would remove the entire End-game Collapse if that brought back the RBT killing survivors if they try to escape by the exit gates.

It's not that it ruins her, it's just nonsensical. This whole update is pointless though.

It doesn't affect my Pig builds...

It affects my Pig in general.

@rha it is not necessarily about end game builds. If I'm facing a coordinated team, it serves me to hold back traps to try to delay end game by trapping 2-3 when 1 gen is left. The group will either slow the last gen, or try to divert my attention from those getting traps off. I'll jump to boxes near the gens and push them off, but try to take down the one with no trap. This is a great way to slow down their escape.

I don't know what strategy I'll have to use with Pig's traps until I'm in game. With the new changes, I have no choice of strategy with the traps. I have to use them before they get on the last gen or lose them. That is unfairly limiting my options with that killer.

It's like taking away Trapper's traps when all but one gen is done, or Nurse's blink. Makes no sense.

Taking something away from a weak killer without considering any kind of buff to her early game.

It destroyed end game pig yeah, and almost makes Monitor mandatory on her because of her huge 32 TR imo.

It's just completely unnecessary. Pig would have been fine with the end game collapse. I think they are trying to fix something that isn't broken.

I forgot they nerfed her with that previously. Honestly I hope she gets at least a compensation buff before it goes live

Some additional thoughts of mine: The Pig nerf has made it so that all traps that have not been used by the time the last Generator is finished are useless. Therefore, the best strategy against the Pig, who is supposed to be a Killer that is good at slowing down the game, is to go hardcore Gen Rush because the faster you power the Exit Gates, the more traps that will be made useless because they are still in the Pig's inventory.

    Agree? Disagree?

I dislike it because it’s just one more thing survivors DON’T have to worry about.

Survivors feel so unearned escaping because the game keeps holding killers back from their true potential.

Also ######### would Jigsaw’s apprentice let their victims go without them cherishing their life? NO! And Piggy was excellent to use to finally stick it to those nasty swf. And now they have even more power while killers feel increasingly more toothless.

the two changes were survivors can leave with a trap that isn't activated and survivors in her terror radius have their trap timer paused right? the first change doesnt effect my playstyle, as I typically try to win games before the gates are powered. the 2nd change I'm happy for, it was the same problem as legion (admittedly, not to as much of a degree), where she could cheese chase mechanics for free, undeserved kills.

First: I love end game pig.

Second: I dont like the terror radius nerf.

    Because I can cheese survivors.(crouching)

So if you want tunnel survivors, you can still do it.

It just hurt the timer, because survivors get ~30 seconds for free.

People say that pig mains moonwalk when there power literally is the has the oppsite purpose of tunneling. Think about it logically if you have someone trap and you know for a fact they wont be doing genes then why tunnel instead you could be chasing someone else and get a trap on their head. Tell me have you ever see a pig at high ranks moonwalking pre ptb.

They nerfed a killer who was already weak and needed buffs.

  • ShyN3ko
    ShyN3ko Member Posts: 1,616

    Exact.

Moonwalking as pig is a dumb strategie.

And the terrorradius nerf did nothing.

It just hurt the RBT timer.

Because I have a crouch button for cheesing survivors.

@rha I agree 100%. Its rare that i ever have RBTs available at the endgame. I use them during the game to slow down the generator progress. I also know where the survivors are going at that point, as they are scrambling to get the traps off. I dont think the new changes affect my playstyle at all

Took a weak killer, made her weaker, didn't compensate her elsewhere.

  • SlothGirly
    SlothGirly Member Posts: 1,146

Her endgame potential was nefed so hard that it affects her mid and early game too, the TR change means that she cant even hold presure againt survivors who have an RBT on their head, furthermore on maps such as the game or lerys it will now be near impossble to even threaten surivors who keep their traps on their head between gens.

The problem is that this "collapse" doesn't fix any of the issues it was originally designed for. Having 3m (that can be extended to nearly 6m) doesn't really "speed up" survivors lagging behind in matches. Also adding the ability to close the hatch doesn't really matter since it is now even easier for survivor to get/use it. Then you have the Pig as an example that got hit with endgame nerfs due to this new endgame.

Look I'm barely invested in this game anymore (hence lack of posts/game time) but it still baffles me how the developers still don't take enough time to get community feedback BEFORE rolling changes like this out. They seem to try and "balance" everything to make everyone happy without really asking what people want. Before anyone starts saying "they do listen/people are all toxic and never happy" what I'm trying to say is the PTB is not enough time for them to take feedback and make community changes AND, as past PTBs have proven, next to nothing ever gets changed anyway.

I really hope BHVR has success with the launch of their next game (after DBD) and wish them the best but I pray they have learned to take things slower and to get their games foundation solid/bug free before they take on too many half baked promises.

I hate it because it's hand holding for a small segment of players. It's ok for there to be a skill curve in a game. The players who can't get an RBT off in 3 minutes were never going to escape anyway. It's inconsequential in the situation they think they're rectifying and unnecessarily punishing for the killer.
