Discouraged about the game's future.
I play some f2p games on my tablet like Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. I don't spend money on them because every unit that comes out that is the "greatest of all time" will be passed up by another in just a few weeks. It's not worth chasing those hard to get units with cash. Why do I bring that up? Because I and the community as a whole get sold a bill of goods each time a new chapter comes out and we buy it. But with some, like Legion, you can earn in game but others, like the Pig, can't. You have to buy them. So if your new, you can watch the spotlight trailers to get an idea of what killers you might wish to buy. Now the Saw spotlight misleads about what the RBT do. See the screenshot. I don't think this is malicious because I think the developers are good people that are trying to help the game. But how far will it go till these killers you have to pay for are unrecognizable because of nerfs? It's worse than the Freddy nerf because his spotlight trailer still fits. The Pig had a whole mechanic of her power that was in the spotlight removed. I wouldn't call it false advertising but it is troubling. If this keeps happening what will be the incentive to buy future ones? It feels like if they are good they will just get nerfed or have parts removed from their kits. This isn't a "killer main" complaining. It's a consumer and a fan of the game worried. It's making me more reluctant to spend money, and I really like the upcoming clown and spirit skins. In all honesty, my friends and myself haven't played in three weeks after playing just about every weekend since the PS4 release. I haven't played any killer either. Things have to change with the game but removing a mechanic that is advertised... feels wrong. Why not make the first box you search during the EGC always have the key? Heck, even reactivate searched boxes... I'm just so discouraged and worried about the future of the game that has brought my friends and myself so much fun.
There have been good things happening in the game but I just wanted to express my thoughts on the state of the game right now.
Also @not_Queen Please tell Mathieu it might just be me but I miss him doing the narration on the spotlight trailers. He is the voice of DBD to me. You can tell that he is enthusiastic about the game. I miss that.

Like the Plague notes.

The future for DbD hasn't even reach the finale yet. Just you wait. Things can, and most definitely will, get worse.

That dc's meta is killing this game also.

@Ihatelife That's a big reason my team started this break from playing. That needs to be addressed more.

I'm not suprised. I played today for like 8 hours and in every match there was at least one DC. I'm tired of this crap.

The life of this game has always been filled with many ups and downs. Things have been bad before, and will be bad again in the future, I'm sure. Right now is no different. Things will get better..for a while, anyway. Seems to be the nature of this game, I guess it's just something you can have to accept and get used to. I do agree on Mathieu doing the trailer narrations though. I remember the first trailer he didn't narrate, I was expecting to hear him, but then I hear this new guy, and I'm like, "wait, who's this guy? Where's Mathieu?" I wonder why he no longer does them? In any case, I hope he will start narrating them again, it's really not the same without his voice.

@TheShape78 Yeah most multi-player games are like this. My team where a dedicated Battlefield team before the series fell a part during BF1. Just what is happening feels too much like f2p tactics. Nerf the old and then release something shiny and new to replace it that you have to buy. I don't think its gone that far at all, but removing an advertised mechanic isnt a good road to go down. And I care too much about the game to not speak up.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses his narration. It was the Legion spotlight was the first without him, I think... maybe that was a sign. They probably wanted them to sound more cinematic or maybe he is too busy. I agreed, it's not the same.

Yeah fam you're the only consumer. Everyone else won their Dbd game in a raffle.

It's worth noting pig came out just before the second anniversary, so they absolutely knew holding the game hostage was a thing.
They needed a "win" so they made the egc and nerfed anything that got in the way as an afterthought.

@The_Bogeyman You do know DBD was free on PS+ right? But that's not what I meant at all. I mean that the loudest complaints get the attention. I'm not "crying over a patch or nerf". I'm talking about a product that was purchased. And my worry about where the game could be heading. That's all. There's no need for any snarkyness, friend. I just care about the game.
@EntityDispleased Nope not at all. I like the EGC quite a bit. I don't like the removal of an mechanic that was in the spotlight trailer, an advertisement, being removed. Especially when I believe there is ways to make the Pig's traps work within the EGC. So I'm nether shocked or pissed as you said. Just discouraged. That's all.

Heh yeah PS4 is the one devs care about most and has all the loudest complainers. Cool you care about the game. We all do fam. Saying you're a consumer ain't separating you from the peeps who are loud complainers. They're consumers too.

@The_Bogeyman Why try and misconstrue what I was saying? Yes we are all consumers. I said, "Because I and the community as a whole get sold a bill of goods" pointing that out. The comment you are dwelling on is not to the players. It's a riff on the idea most companies don't listen to the people who buy their products. So it was a joke on that. I don't think Behavior is that bad but some seem to think that. But really I'm sure they are wading though tons of complaints, as always, so I was trying to come at this from a different perspective and ward off the common comments of "salty survivor main" or "salty killer main" at the same time. So I guess I'm just a "salty customer"? That's a change at least.
