Chainsaw flick
I still see people talking about a chainsaw flick which was possible in early days. I am curious what that chainsaw flick is. I play dbd almost since release and still didn't realize that there was something like that
If anybody can tell, please.
Have a good day/night

When people talk about chainsaw flick now they are talking about that increased turning angle you get in the first second of the chainsaw sprint. This allows you to make a 90° turn which sometimes allows you to get players in a loop. That's the flick these days.

If i remember correctly, back then the flick was that you could turn your camera quickliy during the chainsaw attack at the end of the sprint and still hit survivors . not too sure about this tho.

Yeah, know about this kind of flick. People always talk about a flick back in the day which was strong

Ah okay. Well thank you mate. At least I know what it kind of is now xD

That's it more or less.
As it is now, when you end a chainsaw sprint you can somewhat look left/right but your attack hitbox is locked in front plus vanishes near instantly. If you don't run directly into a Survivor before letting go of M2 then you will not land a hit. Making it more possible to dodge a hit in general and Billy often could glance off of a Survivor.
Flick was when you could move your hitbox at the end of a chainsaw sprint. There was no dodging the chainsaw back then. If Billy got close, you got hit as he could end his sprint and turn into you. The hitbox also lasted MUCH longer back then and lasted almost the entire animation. You couldn't simply walk around a barrel, wall, or tree to dodge the hit as flick allowed Billy to somewhat follow you around it leading to some questionable hits. It got worse if he ran a long bar giving his chainsaw more range.
I fully miss having that flick, but I also fully understand why it had to go.

I imagine the endgame chat:
OMG HIT THROUGH THE WINDOW WHAT THE ######### IS THIS #########????? FIX THE ######### HIBOXES I WAS 2 METERS AWAY FROM THE WINDOW WHEN I GOT HIT.

Okay, I think I know what it is now and also used this trick back in the day. Until now I didn't know how it was called lol xD

No they don't you can still do that kind of turn now,
The chainsaw flick was when you ending your chainsaw you could turn your camera moving the chainsaw into survivors and it would kill them, but now it just goes through there body and doesn't do anything, cos they removed it.

People who keep saying that flick still exists are showing to me that they have no clue about what they are talking and can be dismissed.
Billy has curving only, that's it.

That's not the flick, that's just the increased turning the hillbilly gets at the start of a chainsaw sprint. The flick was something that happened at the end of a chainsaw which allowed you to quickly look to the left or right. It basically made it so you could hit someone that wasn't in front of you.
Short version, good luck dodging a chainsaw. Even if you made a sharp turn around a corner, you would still get hit.

That's exactly why I said they meant the curving shown in the video instead of the flick, because the flick doesnt exist anymore. I've had survivors telling me that I abuse the flick and when I ask them if they know what the flick was they say I get the speed boost at the beginning of the chainsaw therefore they mean the curving.
My point is that some people misunderstand certain stuff like when people say that auto aim still exits but they confuse It with the fact that the game corrects the animation so that it doesnt look like you are hitting the air instead of the survivor. It's just a common mistake.

They also like to confuse "Facecamping" with "being present on the map" 🙄

so dodging around a corner wont work for a chainsaw....
But you nerf pig.
