EGC: if u had a choice...
As it is now OR
When last gen completed 3 minutes.

I feel like it'd be more intense if it kicked in after the last Gen is done. Certainly worth a test in my opinion.

As it is now.
The EGC is not designed to help with kills, it is simply designed to end the game in a reasonable time frame while allowing some plays, this it does.
It pushes trolls out the match and helps solves the hatch standoff, this is what people asked for.

This. The fact that this reduces the ability to troll is reason enough for me that the change is well worth it.
I think end game builds are going to be a lot more popular with survivors and killers, too. Maybe broaden the meta. I see a few popular streamers using the perk Hope and I'm considering giving it a shot.

As it is now. It feels fair, at least.

@Orion While it does seem fair, it could still be changed to when the final gen is done and kept fair simply by upping the time that the EGC is active, say to 4 minutes? As it stands 3 minutes from gate open is alredy alot of time, which is fine, and in the current game state it doesnt take too long to open gates, I would go so far as to argue that 3 minutes could be fine starting by gen finish. But to my point, EGC is to stop survivors from lurking about the match once gtes are open, but the sooner the EGC begins then theoreticlly the sooner survivors would leave.

This could be pretty dangerous when you start adding perks into the mix, though. Say I'm playing hag with Remember Me, NOED, and Blood Warden and the gates spawn somewhat close to each other. Since I'm using an end game build, I already have traps set up at each gate. If I play defensively for the first minute or so and prevent them from opening the gates, down one or two along the way and slug them, then hook someone with only a minute remaining on the timer, Blood Warden could basically give me four easy sacrifices.
If all the survivors knew what they were doing, they could potentially leave the survivor hooked to slow the timer and avoid Blood Warden, but if even a single one doesn't fully think it through and unhooks them, everyone's basically dead. I could stop playing and face a corner and still get four kills.
It's a little more safe when it's tied to the gates themselves since there's an opportunity for escape. The end game should encourage you to leave, not necessarily get the killer kills (though it will if they refuse to escape).
For what it's worth, this was actually tested previously.

The problem is that survivors can't leave after the last generator is powered. They still have to open at least one exit. That's why the timer doesn't start sooner. I think as it is now on the PTB is perfect: not too short, not too long, and activates when the survivors actually have the option to leave.

I personally think that having it be more time but after the gens would be cooler. But right now is fine too.

Have y'all tested exit gate regression to prevent loop holes such as 99%'ing the gates to avoid the timer? It could regress down to the last milestone or something.
It's just something to prevent survivors from avoiding an entire mechanic. After all, if you keep this then your EGC mechanic is all in vain since it can be easily bypassed.

The killer can open the gates to trigger the EGC.

This is something that was tested, but it also caused some other issues. For instance, if there's only one Survivor remaining, it becomes even more difficult to open the gates if you have to hide when the Killer is coming your way only to have all of your progress regress. Ultimately it was decided against since the Killer can open the gates on their own, so you can always forcefully open the gates if the Survivors are trying to take advantage of that.

This content has been removed.

That depends.
If they revert ALL pig changes, then as it is. Because that would give survivors a fair chance at removing the traps and escaping the already open doors.
If not, then last gen 3 mins is better. more exciting. They have gutted the end game perks for killers so this should be fine.

Even in this case.
The killer need to play 3 perkless before end game to do it .
And rely on door rng to success.
And the timer would be slow when the first survivor got down,it would be 6 minutes so the killer can't wait until last minute to hook the survivor.
And even if she success to hook one survivor in the last minute.
She still need to rely on survivor act stupid enough to get four kill.
And don't forget the risk of survivors escape without save the unlucky guy.
If the killer can deal with all of this,I think she deserves four kills.
I know it may be a risk thing to made it begin when all gens done.
But here is PTB,why don't give it a try?
You have already buff the open door time and nerf remember it for it ,why stop?

EGC as it is is fine. it needs some minor tweaks to get the best out of it. Which is something that's going to take a couple months of live data to figure out. I look forward to perks that effect it, on both sides. Left Behind will hopefully get reworked now.
I am going to keep stating loudly that they should revert all changes on Pig, and get some hard data on her power level in the EGC.
