Is EAC still banning people for modding the game files ?
By that I mean is it still a bannable offense of modding the Pictures of the Survs/Killers in EAC's eyes or is it just that the programm lashes out sometimes onto accounts and bans them for the reason "I thought you are hacking!" ?
And if you would get banned that way, would there be a possibility to get debanned ?
I am not using them myself, I just wanna win an arguement :D

actually，it always will be banned.
but I also remind you，in old times of the game，the sav data losing is common，many people just have no choice but to mod and thus been banned and not debaned.
so BHVR is rude.or should i say，they just dont care bout your reason，if you are banned，the only choose is to get a new one

As the mods always write, they won't actively ban you if you do it, but if EAC bans you for that, they won't help you.

I guess you're meaning if EAC bans you for changing the perk pictures or survivor/killer pictures in game? Then no, but if EAC one day feels like it wants to ban you for it, then the devs won't help to unban you. It's the same with MLGA, it's not something they would ban but if EAC decides it suddenly wants to ban you for it, you're out of luck. It's "do it at your own risk" kind of thing.
If you're meaning modding game files as in hacking then yes.

Devs don’t care if you mod the files to change the pics for killers and survivors but if their automatic ban system bans you then they can’t unban you

No one ever has been banned for that, you can search it on Google and there aren't issues with that (custom survivor/killer pictures, perks, killers powers and items/addons icons). I have the Geistra Sky Pack for a few days and I'm not banned.

There's is a. Whitelist wrote by eac that shows you what can you modify and programs allowed. PNGs are not shown, but actually is stupid protecting PNG files and that's why eac doesn't ban people who changes their character pictures or perks skins.

It's possible you will be banned. EAC doesn't actively scan for it, but if and when they decide to, there's no going back.

I asked EAC about the icon packs/the possibility to get banned if I change the perk icons, this was the email I got back:
"Thank you for your question.
Easy Anti-Cheat is only interested of the use of third-party tools designed to grant an unfair in-game advantage over other players.
If you are unsure about whether the tool or an action in question may be considered forbidden by the game, we recommend contacting the game developer directly to confirm that first. As the anti-cheat provider our main focus is on the specifically crafted cheating tools, but it is always possible that a game has explicitly forbidden individual third-party tools or game-file modification.
