Ghost Face is coming to DbD. News soon.

You missed the point. What I said was that Ghostface and Myers show themselves from distance and build up dread in their victim. Their methods are different, and their intentions as well. But their objective is roughly the same; making the victim feel in danger before finally attacking. Legion is, on the other hand, brute force and straight up reaction to external sources.

Yes I did notice, but its more fun to play along and enjoy the ride.

They mentioned dbd, talked about still working on it, but I created this thread because of the fist picture that is new

OK.
I called Ash being the next licensed property in the game.
If we are to see a Lionsgate property, I call the Driftwood Family, from
House of 1000 corpses
Devils Rejects
3 from Hell - which is being released this year... co-incidence?
0 -
Yes, they don't share their identity and kill people as any other actual killer, so now for example Jason Vorhees is copying legion?
0 -
No lol Jason is The Trapper.....do you not see it?
0 -
Don't you see that no-one is getting the same view as you?
0 -
Myers wears a suit he got from a gas station.....no, legion and ghost face, high school, teens, staby and runs around, of course no killer wishes to be out there in the open...Myers, well he cant die....ghost face...ugh yup so again they are not similar

I'm a bit worried about what power they'd give them. A phone call power sounds pretty boring. I mean, what power would a Scream killer have? I honestly don't know, maybe a stealth ability of some kind?
2 -
Meh, they aren't great movies imo, but if we can have a clumsy killer that trip on a couch and fall over...I'm down, at least it will be funny right ?
1 -
Not my #1 pick, but I can't judge just off that.
I have faith that he'll be a cool addition.

I hope this is true (I know the devs were approached by the owners of the mask in the past) and look forward to a new Killer, but Scream is such an overrated movie franchise IMO.
The first film was good. A nice blend of scares, surprises, and comedy. But the 2nd one wasn't anything special and the 3rd one was terrible IMO. I couldn't get through the 4th because I found it too boring.
I don't think I'll get too excited unless they give Ghostface in-game voice lines or unless their power and perks are REALLY good.
1 -
^ Literally this.
I would consider ghostface maybe #6 on my most wanted killers list (not very high for me), so they gotta wow me in order to make me buy him.
3 -
Ew, out of every killer they would add Scream?
Though, it's nothing more than speculations.
0 -
I wouldn't get my hopes up really.
2 -
It all seems plausible. Personally I'd prefer something else, or another original killer (because damn their designs are awesome, IMO)
That said, Ash was a great addition. Something more like that is always cool for the killer side.
1 -
Are we getting Sidney?
0 -
Gosh, I hope not. Scream's so overrated. Might as well start adding FnaF killers and Slenderman then.
0 -
It would make sense to add Ghostface to DbD. Let's not assume that he is coming for sure, but after reading that tweet it sounds like it's possible.

I don't know, Ghostface dosen't seem all that interesting; he just seems bland to me. I mean think about it; would you rather go against a killer that carry's a butter knife around and hides behind phone calls or a towering 7ft tall guy, wielding a massive machete, that has supernatural powers like brutal strength and teleportation.
I mean hell, even Micheal Myers seems more threatening then him, and that's saying a lot XD
Now if your talking licensed killers; i would definitely go for Sadako or maybe even pinhead; but ghostface? not really my cup of tea..

Please for the love of all things holy, let this happen! Everything listed here seems WAY too convenient for it to not be happening. I grew up with the Scream trilogy, always loved Ghostface. In fact, he's in my top 3 movie killers...#1 Michael Myers, #2 Ghostface, #3 Jason Voorhees. I've always wanted him to be added to the game, though I'm not sure how they would explain his presence in the lore, or what his power would be. The only way I think the cell phone could be implemented is by replacing the heart beat heard when the killer is near, with a 90's style cell phone ring tone.
I don't understand the hate this community gives Scream/Ghostface. If it wasn't for the first Scream film in 1996, a time when the horror genre was pretty much dead, then it's very likely we wouldn't have had a resurgence of horror films. Plus, Ghostface is pretty much an icon, up there with the likes of Michael, Freddy, and Jason. This game already has my favorite movie killer, Michael Myers, but if they add Ghostface, my life will be complete :)

Just remembered this today and did some twitter searching. I can't find either of those tweets anymore and the person who was supposed to do the announcement (TheWorldofRSB) has said nothing relating to Ghostface.
Struck down by the marketing team or something? Maybe it got pushed to a later date.

I am super hyped if ghostface comes in.
2 -
Most the time they are giving hate just to troll the people that want it. I agree with you 100%
1 -
Too right. Ghostface is a boooooooring killer.
0 -
I have a thread on this too.
There's actually a LOT more tweets from Torbert about this. He says things like "Wouldn't everyone love it if Ghostface came to a succesful horror game?" and a bunch of others that got deleted.
Add into it, BHVR has an active agreement with Lionsgate already. The other half of the Ghostface copyright.
3 -
well i only care about this ghostface killer if the gameplay is interesting. the killer itself as in status and appearance it's totally lame. But if the game elements are cool (perks etc) then who cares right? it's an arcade game and its about the gameplay so you can have freddy michael and other major iconics ingame but ultimately he must be fun to play
1 -
I feel like Michael Myers is more overrated than Ghostface.
Michael has no personality , he just stares at you then kill you. Ghostface taunts his victims , plays with them and hides among them. There's just so much than they can do about Ghostface.

My first time on this thread. That's crazy that Angelicus and I saw the same things on Variety and the Lionsgate Scream distribution deal from years ago. Great minds think alike. :)
I'm honestly surprised that the Ghostface and Hellraiser threads are live here on the forums.

For all the kiddos saying Scream is overrated... they must be young millennials.
Scream is/was responsible for bring back the slasher genre/thriller horror movie. The genre really started to stagnate badly around Jason Goes to Hell or so in 1993. And it had been in decline before that for years. It started to fizzle out in populatrity and mass appeal in the late 80s. Around 1988 or so.
Scream was a good franchise, while dull at times, and not great, it was good. And the 1st movie was fantastic.
Scream isn't overrated. It's rated just fine. The Ghostface killer would be a cool addition, but his power is basically what the Legion's power is now. Quick stabs... as it is spoofed in movie off of a "Stab" movie.
The phone calling thing could work, and while I'd love to get Prescott in the film, I think it would be really cool to get Drew Barrymore's character instead.

^THIS! Thank you!

Scream did a LOT for the slasher subgenre of horror, by subverting the expectations of the genre.
Slashers were always this being who was infused with pure evil. And unstoppable. But in scream, it was a couple fanboys copycatting their favorite genre. This let them add a bit of comedy into the equasion, which worked wonders. It's hard to have fear, without happiness.
As for power, on my thread someone suggested being able to "call" a generator, and appear there. If they went that route, it would be a nice twist for a power.
But i predict it will be a better version of Legion. Like Hillbilly is a better Leatherface. But backwards, like most people think it should be.
3 -
Yeah it was kind of a spoof in a way.

ok, but those leaked audio files that belong to the killer 16 with code name Oman what are they? certainly they not seem to belong to ghostface..
those file audio remember hellraiser saga, and lionsgate have produced a hellraiser film in 2018..

i'm an 80'ies boy and i think this "ghostface" is lame.
I did enjoy the parody movie based on scream titled "scary movie" from 2000. That ######### was funny
1 -
@Jimsalabim Born in 1972, raised primarily in the 80s when the slasher genre really found its feet. I never cared much for Scream at all. I have to admit, if there is a Scream DLC, it will be the first DLC from Behavior I would definitely not purchase. I don't care what Perks it has.
There are so many better licensed killer choices still out there.
1 -
This /\.... it's the exact reason why I haven't bought Freddy.... he plan and simple boring.... nothing like the movies
1 -
Myers would hunt him as a survivor and an imposter.
1 -
Yeah he doesn't attract me too as a killer, but if his gameplay is interesting (i mean it can't be worse than legion can it?) than i will probably just buy it like all the rest of the chapters.
I heard the rumours of Pinhead possibly coming and tbh i like this idea way more. But again it will greatly depend on the playstyle and perks that are introduced.
I mean i think freddy is a great horror icon but I never play him because he is just boring and uninteresting to play (and vs. also).

oh ######### guys we need to be careful what we're gonna say now; they have added a vote down option.... :P

Not only that, who as a killer would even have time to "taunt" survivors with such an unremarkable killer? Let this speculation die with dignity.
1 -
@Niitosky You do know about the icon you can look into your folders and find right now, for an offering for a highschool, right? It just recently appeared, and was not part of the "teacher" files of old.
If you are so certain these sounds, these very generic late 80's or early 90's slasher sounds, are hellraiser based. Please, post me a clip of the sounds from a movie.
The sound clips for Halloween and Nightmare on Elm street are very easily identified as from their respective series. The melody of girls singing in the meter of "1-2, freddies coming for you" The sound when Myers levels up his power, the chase music, i can find those in movies easy.
1 -
Scream will be the next chapter. The hints and leaks are too much for anyone to deny it. A Hellraiser paragraph in May is a possibility. It would balance out the killer-survivor roster (excluding Bill who is a PC exclusive).
1 -
As long as we get Kirby Reed for a survivor 😍
0 -
it is written everywhere that reminds of hellraisers, in the youtube comments of the video with audio, in the steam hub in the dedicated posts, and here on the forum in the dedicated posts, listen for example to the sounds in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5_-ZqJKzNc
but, of course, it's nothing official, so even if it wasn't hellraiser, those sounds are in a folder called Killer_16, so if it's not hellraiser, it means that in June there will be a chapter with an original killer, and therefore that the announcement of May 28 dedicated to Ghostface does not concern dbd, don't you think things are a bit unlikely after all the evidence released in the last period?
That's why I am convinced that we will have a paragraph in May and the chapter in June
maybe that is not hellraiser but the sounds of their original killer, and the Paragraph will be the dlc of ghostface with only the killer, but in this case I wouldn't explain the number 16, because if so, the killer 16 would be ghostface, and those sounds instead would be of the killer 17, but that sounds not remember absolutely ghostface

Scream barely registers as a horror movie. Whiney teens kill some people while talking about rules of a horror movie. I laughed more than anything else. Ghostface is low tier in the horror lineup. All I hear when I see him is the two main killers whining about who cut who too deep, and how one was upset because his mommy was gone.
Yeah, scary. Scream movies are another version of 90s teenage angst films.

Drew Barrymore was a cameo appearance in that movie. Prescott nailed the entire series. It would be travesty to disregard her as the counterpiece to Ghostface.

@Warlock_2020 My brother and I used to call that era of films the yuppie horror films. Then we proceeded to pretend they didn't exist.
But I'm 46 and he's 39. We were both raised on the real slasher genre. 😋
