Red Rank Problem Acknowledgement?

Hi

I found a few threads about this but I wanted to be more clear on my question.

There has been a lot of debate around the ethics of deranking within the community, which I'm not interested in touching now, but I would like to know if devs acknowledge that there's a significant problem in red ranks and that there are plans to solve it.

The game is pretty much unplayable right now in terms of finding a match.

1) All of the lobbies seem to revolve around the same killers, most of which I have bad ping against. I have to end up playing with 180-250 ping due to lack of matches.

2) Deranking now is pretty tough, it takes a lot of time and I have to play the game so that I don't screw up everybody in the team and at the same time I can lose a pip. It's frustrating.

3) Add to that cocktail the fact that half of the matches include 1 or 2 survivor DCs, or a killer DC.

4) Let alone the other problems mentioned many times: no killer variety (yesterday, for example, was a "nurse day"), moris, excessive competitiveness to the detriment of fun, etc. But let's not go through that now.

All in all, despite the big potential the game has due to upcoming features and technical changes, it's making the game experience completely frustrating.

What options do I have as a red rank survivor to play this game?

Thanks and regards.

It's kind of a mess right now. Hopefully all the issues you mentioned will be addressed. They are working toward dedicated servers which should fix the lag issues. They've also been working on matchmaking for a while now.

I do have one suggestion for you though. It's obviously not something you'll be able to or want to do all the time though. But I strongly recommend giving Kill Your Friends a chance. If you get 5 people that just want to play and have fun, it is the best way to play the game. No wait times between games. You can actually make agreements ahead of time.

The downside is that you don't earn bloodpoints. But if you are just playing to have fun then that isn't an issue. The upside is that there aren't any bloodpoints so there isn't any motivation to play like a jerk. If you play on console, you can join communities which makes it easier to find people.

Red ranks seem like a pain to be in, the long wait times and better pings would all fix themselves out if there were more players up there but there's no real reason for people to try and reach red ranks, quite the opposite actually. Maybe if they added a 1.5x Bloodpoints for players in red ranks It might give incentive for players to stay and reach for red ranks. or maybe a cosmetic reward each month for reaching rank 1.

As for Variety of Killers, this is something the Devs actually decided. They said themselves they don't make killers to be viable and as a result of this you only have a very small portion of the killers being played in the high ranks. I hope they change their mindset on this and make all killers viable at red ranks, It'd give the game so much more variety and make the game a lot less boring. Playing the same killers over and over all while doing the same objective of gens over and over gets stale quickly, at least if there were every killer up in red ranks you'd have to play the objective differently.

What really disappoints in the game is that either for killer or survivor you struggle the whole month to get back to the 1st rank, and then get deranked to ~10 with no reward for that. You got no acknowledgement in your profile, that you achieved 1st rank several times, you don't get in-game currency for that or blood-points as it's done in any other competitive game. You just try hard and then lose it all and after achieving 1st rank once there's no any reason to do it again.

    Please make it.

Honestly, I don't care about rank, and I don't struggle at all to get there. Not because I'm very good at the game; I just have a lot of hours and play often, so eventually you get there very naturally.

If I could choose, I would 100% pick playability/entertainment over reward, but at least a reward of some kind (in the form of bloodpoints/shards/whatever) would make it a bit better.

It's completely unfair from every point of view to be in red ranks, and every time there's an event, you are screwed. You feel left out of the party. Everybody having fun at mid-ranks while you are stuck with the same few people "up" there, waiting long to find a match, only to die very soon for not playing SWF.

Since ranking up is thankfully more difficult now, surely it is time to revisit how far rank reset drops you. Rank 1s should only be dropped to rank 5.
