In what situation or playstyles are the "Phantasm Trap range" addons actually useful for?
I've just mostly avoided these and just go literally for any other one, as I have no clue how to get any use out of it. As I see it having a big radius just means more chances of the trap being triggered 'accidentally' or behind a wall which the traps occasionally do.

Literally about every situation? These are some of my favourite addons, you don't need to play a specific style with it, it is just nice to be able to teleport to a tripped trap on the other side of the map, especially if you haven't found a survivor.

those are completely different set of addons. the ones i mentioned increase the radius of the traps not how far you can teleport to them.

@Chi You clearly have no idea what those addons do :D
Those addons increase radius around trap from which survivor triggers trap. It can be very useful against ppl who like to run through traps at full speed since trap triggers earlier and you can teleport to it and hit their face.
Or it can be very annoying against ppl who like to change their direction at once since you will be further from them when you teleport. But, you can use it in chases when you have vaults/pallets trapped or for mindgames.

No idea, the only time I've ever seen them in use is Streamers trolling the Hag player by setting off the trap from the safe side of a window because of the extended range.

The second match in this video is one where I use those addons. There are others, but I don't remember where they are.
I usually use those to cover a wider area. Imagine the size of a trigger circle around a trap near a hooked survivor. You can crouch away and then run pretty quickly right? Now imagine if that circle is bigger.
I also like to use these in the middle of a pallet instead of one side or the other. A survivor will trigger the trap sooner giving me time to teleport and prevent the pallet drop while still getting a hit in.
It's tricky, but think about a bigger trigger circle and you can find ways to use them :)

It can help against people who crouch last second at hooks. Since it might trigger.

@SpaceCoconut flexing with the NOED picture huh? 🤣🤣🤣

Completely misread it, my bad.

What can I say? I was in a **rush** to change it ;)

You can catch Survivors off guard. They see you place a trap and try to go around it, thinking that'll save them. Due to the increased trigger range, they won't expect to trigger it and you can take advantage of that to get a hit in.

They really help cover larger areas allowing for pretty ridiculous scenarios. During the BBQ event I once filled the entire Groaning Storehouse structure with traps I even had few left over for the windows.
When that one guy ran in for the gen I think I must've shaved a year off of their life with all of the traps.
I dunno, I just like clustering traps.

@SpaceCoconut lol. I just run Surveillance and Thanatophobia to combat genrush. Works a charm on Spirit and Hag.

I remember watching Space Coconut and he said something about how when traps get triggered, the camera of the survivor gets shifted to the trap, screwing with movement. Saw him use it too. You put it on the ground near the loop instead of in it and when the survivor triggers it, they run for a second or two in the open, making them an easy hit.

Oh, i like that idea! Might have to put those addons in the rotation and give it a try!
