Hook sabotage counterplay

I don't feel that hook sabotaging is quite balanced. There really isn't a reasonable counterplay from a killer perspective if a group decides to create hook deadzones and all run to that area during chases. Yes, Hangman's Trick exists, but I don't feel that a perk is a reasonable counter to something a group might do once every 30 games, and would otherwise be a wasted perk slot. A coordinated group of survivors will always be able to reset a slug or two with relative ease, and if not, then the killer was sacrificing gens to camp a slug. Again, it's rare that a group does this, but it is super unfun to play against with little counterplay.

If you see a group with 4 toolboxes prepare yourself for either super gen popping or sabotage.

I do feel that the ability to sabotage never even gets used.

I believe the objective there is to make it so its a viable option to stop a hook from happening without making it so amazing that its all people do.

While a purple repair kit will make this easier it seems like there are hooks every freaking 5 feet and even when you sabotage a hook it doesn't last very long.

So you factor in wiggle time (Which is insane) distance of hooks (One right by every objective with 3 more in view) and the time it takes to sabotage (years) and the time it takes for hooks to come back (you blink and there it is).

While this can be irritating for killers there are other things you can do to make the killers game more enjoyable while balancing this and not making it an issue.

Like how about the killer can pick that hook up and repair a hook while holding a survivor.

it provides extra wiggle but also lets the killer have a chance to get a hook.

This; also perks that could make it better like Boil Over and Flip Flop are so worthless that they're not worth running. Honestly both of those perks just need minor adjustments, BO needs a larger radius of hook obscuring (say 42 meters at tier 3) and it's wiggle effectiveness needs to be 100%, and FF should have it so that half of your recovery equals half of your wiggle (instead of converting a while recovery bar to 50% wiggle, so basically recovering equals 100% of your wiggle, but maxes at 50%).

Rather then hangman's trick I would run Franklin's and if they sabo direct in front of me, they get slapped, drop my carried survivor and down the saboteur.

If the downed one don't have Unbreakable I would lock in 3 survivors.

    1 on the ground

    1 in a chase and

    1 healing the downed

And they need to pick up their boxes.

    Works for me.

Sabotaging is in a terrible place right now.

What do you mean? If you sabotage a hook it just springs back up again before it even matters that you sabotaged it.

And you have basement hooks which cant be sabotaged.

You'd literally need all 4 Survivors running Sabotage perk doing nothing but hook sabotage for it to matter. And even then Killer wins because no gens are being done and eventually they'd just slug everyone.

Drop them and down the person sabboing. Hook that person. They often put themselves in a place to get hit easily and making people pick up the person on the ground is still providing pressure. The hooks respawn, give it a few minutes. Otherwise take them to another hook if you can find another close run. Don't run in the direction of survivors, go the opposite. They won't be able to catch up unless they have a SB.

Also remember the lovely point that if they're sabboing, they're wasting time. If one-two people are busy sabboing, that means there's one-two people not doing gens. It really isn't that bad.

I believe what we are all getting at here is the same

Sabotage is dead right now and has been for a long time.

Hangman's Trick helps with sabotage and makes it so you never have to worry about hook positioning ever again.

Hook positioning hasn't been much of a threat since the hook placement changes, funny enough. I can kill 4 people in the same area in the majority of the maps in the game. HT is just to sneeze on people's already niche team build tbh.

Hook sabo is really only something I do to troll. And I have to have like different hooks in the same area at 99% for it to even matter because when i drop the first hook, there's like 4 or 5 more within walking distance.

You don't need counterplay for something that is already weak
