I don't see how people fail to understand that preventing people from disconnecting with punishments is not going to fix the problem. It's just going to ######### it to a different problem. If you stop people from disconnecting by force, they aren't going to magically become better teammates and play the games out like they should. They are going to suicide on hook immediately, annoy/troll/sandbag teammates, or they are going to do absolutely nothing to help their team. People look at games like LoL and similar games and see that they don't have a disconnect problem because they have punishments. What they have instead are people who get mad 10 minutes into the game and then "soft int" by only pushing their lane the entire game and dying any time someone breaths on them. Or they run it down mid lane and screw over their teammate. This happens far more often then you might think. Also, if someone gets annoyed enough to DC and doesn't want to wait to suicide and you give them a long queue time for leaving, it will lead to longer queue times for killers and likely survivors. Queue times for killers are already bad enough. Do you want to potentially add another 3 or 4 minuets to killer queue times? (The number could be higher or lower. No way of actually judging this) Punishments aren't going to give you a better gameplay experience. If they want to implement this then the devs have to come up with a way to punish people for suiciding/taking away that option entirely. They would also need to add a way to track if people are playing in toxic ways (such as purposely farming teammates or popping gens over and over that someone is working on) If they don't do any of these things adding a punishment for disconnecting isn't going to make much of a difference.
