Here's How To Achieve Balance, Without Nerfs!

Hello, CallMeSpidey here and Sloppy Bitchslap on Steam.

Love the game, addicting, blah blah you know. So, I've been around the forums a few time and one of the main issues about this game or about any complaints is perk balancing. I'm not sure if anyone has brought this idea up but, here's my take and my way to balancing things out.

  1. Keep Individual Meta Perks Locked To That One Character.

Example A.

image.png

Claudette's 3 perks, and it's obvious Self Care if the most used perk in Dead by Daylight and people have an issue with this.

Self Care would be locked to Claudette only, while Empathy and Botany Knowledge will be allowed to be teachable.

Same with Meg.

Adrenaline is the alpha of her perks and would be locked only to her.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Killer perks are a tricky one as well because we all know Ruin is the #1 used perk but it's not Hag's 3rd teachable perk but Devour Hope. My take on killers are a bit different, and it's been killing me but with Killers either have 2 Perks locked or a simple 1 perk lockout would be sufficient.

Franklin's Demise isn't Leatherface's Meta perk, this is why I suggested a 2 perk lockout but Killer mains like myself Love the double Bloodpoints that BBQ&Chili offers which is why I'm still stuck on this part.

Hag is another example, a 2 perk lockout would only have Hag have Devour Hope and Hex:Ruin exclusively on Hag while Third Seal is her only teachable, but Ruin helps with the infamous "Gen Rush" so believe a 1 perk lockout per killer would be sufficient.

I don't like this tbh. People will just only play the claudette for the self care.

No, as a player I say no to both the lock down for survivors and killers. What I would like are Empowered Perks based on who you use. (Example, playing Claudette and using at least one of her perks will empower that perk in some way, you can run anything else but they won't become empowered, just her own perks.)

Honestly much more fair and would give a reason to main survivors. Empowered perks also go for killers as well.

@CallMeSpidey If you lock individual Meta perks to their specific Survivors isn't that kind of redundant since you can still combine specific perks with those Survivors to still create a meta build?

Like if people want to use MoM they'll just use Ash and give him specific perks that would be useful for him. Depending on how restrictive this is, you could still use DH, BL, etc to make a meta build regardless if their locked to specific Survivors.

I guess this would make more specific Survivors to be used for their unique perks instead of just using say Claudette every match.

Then they don't get Adrenaline, Dead Hard, etc.

If you want Dead Hard, use David and bring a Medkit.

Balancing it out, if you want Adrenaline, get Meg but you won't get Self Care.

Exactly, it's still restricting THE Meta Perk build that's known right now.

It's giving a change. Killers will have to adjust as well.

This type of change has been suggested a lot already. It ruins the survivor diversity as you'd be forced to run the survivor with the better ultra rare perk.

An easier solution without buffing or nerfing is map reworks. You could fix a lot of the games problems just by fixing the map designs.

The same way Legion mains got their Bloodpoint refunds back after the nerf.

So this thread was made to appeal to Killer mains? Survivors love Adrenaline but since it's "meta" (like BBQ for Killers) it should be locked? But BBQ shouldn't?

I really like the way teachables are set up right now and changing that up wouldn't achieve balance, it would just push Survivors towards playing Claudette (for a perk that sucks anyways.)
