Monstrous Shrine Rework Suggestion
Monstrous Shrine has always been a niche perk but it’s never really been rewarding enough for how situational it is. Why not take away some of its power and make it less situational to compensate.
Current version:
Basement Hooks are granted the following.
- 3/6/9% Faster Entity progression
- 5/10/15% increase on difficulty escape attempts
- 3/6/9% Increased penalty on escape failed attempts.
New Version:
All Hooks are granted the following.
- 12/14/16% Faster Entity progression while you’re outside the killers terror radius.
- Gain 10/15/20% more bloodpoints for actions in the Sacrifice category.
Not only would these changes make Monstrous Shrine less situational but it would encourage killers to not camp hooks.

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the perks namesake? Its a monstrous shrine aka the basement hooks. wouldn't they have to rename the perk also to fit this new suggestion?
Don't get me wrong it makes the perk more useful, it just doesn't stay true to what its meant for...

Still wouldn't be worth it. 12% faster progression would cut down a little under 13 seconds.

I feel like it would depend on how much pressure you’re putting on the other survivors. It would still be an improvement compared to the current version.

It's 13 seconds. It's not significant. Also, do you want to improve the perk, or make it worthwhile to use?

It’s a passive perk, it’s not meant to be significant. Also certain killers would benefit from this more than others. It would be worth while to use for certain killers.

If it's not meant to be significant, then why are we even talking about buffing it? By your own admission, it should always be something that's not worth using.

Again, what's the point if it's still gonna be irrelevant? If the point of buffing it is just to buff it, then you can just apply it to all the hooks. If the point is to make it useful, however, then it needs to actually do something.

Idk what to tell you, other than I disagree on it being irrelevant. In a game where time is everything this could be very crutch. Especially if the survivors are gen rushing.

The perk as it is now shaves off a little under 10 seconds and is utterly worthless in everything it does. So you're telling me that shaving off an additional 3 seconds is incredibly significant?

The reason why Monstrous Shrine doesn't work:
In DBD the ability to fast shut down chases and apply map/genpressure is king.
MS don't do that.
Some meme basement build are using MS for the theme but I know not a single player that would use MS on a regular basis on every killer.
If you want to make MS viable with counter options for the survivors, make it so, that MS gives you haste or action speed bonus in general.
Additional movement speed can be utilized by almost every killer and would buff all m1 killers.
It would give the killers a big incentive to hook someone in the basement.
High mobility would also counteract camping.
Right now you want the to die asap and use MS often together with Territorial as bait.
4% movement speed buff would incentives the killers to stop camping and hunt other survivors.
Faster games are good for everyone and the current MS just promotes camping and for the survivors it's unfun to die faster with no real counterplay.
MS could also become some sort of Devour Hope 2.0 like MoM replaced old DS.

Nope someone made a thread yesterday about a lot of perks that needed changes and Monstrous Shrine was one of those perks.
Their idea was kind of like if a survivor is hooked in the basement, every other survivor suffer from a debuff to repair speed, healing, sabotage & etc.
I like that better.

Would still top unpopular perk~
I would suggest the survs trying to rescue u need to pass a difficult skill check, if fail they give exhausted for 10/20/30 secs and can't unhook while then
