Does the Plague need to be played like Freddy?
I've been messing around with the Plague today, and I noticed some similarities between her power and Freddy's playstyle. Both need to keep multiple survivors sick or in dream state and face penalties or be forced to stall the game to a certain degree. She's definitely not the strongest killer on the roster, but I'm noticing that she can be decently effective if I use her exactly like I use Freddy.

she can get them to injured without hitting them, just saying Freddy still has to M1 them 2 times and deal with the speed boost they get from first hit to down them, although depending on the survivors they still have the same weaknesses as all other M1 killers. Unless they cleanse vs Plague then she's a better midranged Huntress and doesn't care about loops for atleast a minute.

Spread the sickness dont commit too long to a chase. If they feel forced to give you corrupt purge you can snowball superhard. If they deny you purge then simply play loops as you would a 115% killer. Its a lose, lose situation for survivours.

Result:
Survivors gen rush you and the game is over.
Nobody cleanses themselves in rank 1. They all just rush the gens, they only cleanse if someone's getting hooked.

Tbh she plays almost identical to Legion against high rank players.

If Black Incense was baseline for Plague then I would agree with you. But the fact she is NOT stealth and has no way to naturally track survivors, she is indeed different than Freddy. IMO she's more like Trapper where you have to plan out what you will do before you do it. Taking Corrupt any time it's available is an easy way to lose. Taking it when you are in the best position to use it will get you the win.

I've taken to focusing on just infecting survivors early on, not even chasing or fully breaking them. Once they're infected, they'll either have to clense or they'll stay injured, either way they're giving you power and all you had to do was hit them with a puke.

If her stall was good and she had built-in tracking then she would be more like Freddy. Sadly she has non of these,so that puts her in a rubbish low tier spot.Freddy on the other has insane tracking and the best stall in the game.

I've started playing her, and I'm having severe issues with putting enough pressure on the gens. Starting at level 1 (I never store up BP because I want experience at a Killer's baseline) it's a pretty nasty slog trying to level up and get some decent Perks.
Is she really that Perk/Add-on dependant or am I missing some part of her gameplay that makes it easier?
I've only managed to actually sacrifice 2 Survivors total with her so far, an enormously different experience than I had with the Spirit whom I just P1'd. Going from Spirit -> Plague was a major gameplay change.

I agree she is vulnerable to gen rush since her plague has no effect on gen speed but if you make hook saves difficult by patrolling a small bit you can punish heavily any survivours who dont cleanse and go for the save.
Having M&A helps massively when using this style of play. Often i find once you start snowballing players will cleanse and then your in position to stomp the rest of the survivours.
In ways she reminds me of myers where getting your purge becomes less frequent as you climb the ranks so making it count is super important. Slugging with the plague also helps a lot.
Always be looking to snowball with the plague. Multiple downs with a one or two slugs to slow the game down. Shes not billy, spirit or nurse level good but like myers has her power spikes that can make her extremely dangerous.

Dream World slows progress, forces skill check failures to lose some progress, and provides tracking so you interrupt progress.
Sickness does literally none of that. Getting the Survivor sick and leaving them does literally nothing.

Play her like Billy with Vile Purge. You gotta get right on the survivors tail and puke on them. In an open area it is basically an insta down. Just don’t constantly puke on them to get them to broken, if you can do an M1 attack then do it. It can be a lot easier to simply M1 then puke on survivors and try getting them to broken.
Play her like Huntress with Corrupt Purge. Just spew your puke and you’re bound to hit them, it isn’t hard to down survivors with Corrupt Purge.
She is a combination of Myers, Huntress, Billy, and Leatherface. She is upper mid tier. I personally love Plague. However she is very vulnerable to gen rushing because she has no tracking abilities, no map control, and is not stealthy at all. Monitor and Abuse is perfect for her. She is a solid killer but she isn’t as viable at the top tier killers...Nurse, Spirit, Billy, and Hag.
