Is there any perk that you thought did something completely different as a noob?

For me I thought that borrowed time would transfer the damage from the unhooked to the unhooker.

I thought Autodidact gave you a flat speed bonus to your healing speed.

I thought Thrill of the Hunt alerted killers of your exact location when you tried to blow up a totem.

I thought "Exposed" meant that, too, back when I first started playing.😂

I thought that teachable perks transfer to other players. So if I unlock that teachable, everyone who plays with me learns that perk from me. To be fair, though, the ######### German translation makes it sound like that.

I thought Iron Maiden would let me see survivors in the lockers, like okay they changed the aura reading mechanic and offer now a counter...but nooo.

And Thanatophobia would work with dead survivors... because of thanatos=death and phobia = fear...but fear of death don't make you afraid of the death...nooo.

Thought Boil Over made my wiggle bar speed up quicker. I also thought Plunderers Instinct was only for finding chests.

My ever growing collection of keys and maps is glad that is no longer the case.

My first perk unlocked years ago in the Shrine was Lithe and I forgot, so I always thought Lithe was available as a perk like Deja Vu, or We'll Make It and wondered why it had a Feng comment underneath it.

@CallMeSpidey I was really angry when my Claudette didn’t have dead hard.😂

I didn't understand how Whispers worked for the longest time since the perk says "Sporadically hear the Entity's Whisper when standing within a 48/40/32 metres of a Survivor."

I thought I had to listen for the Entity's voice and could never figure out when it was happening.

Realized at some point the perk icon itself was lighting up whenever someone was nearby and going dim when they weren't.......

I didn't realize you could hit through something like the picket fences on Haddonfield. So if the survivor is too close to them on the other side they will still get hit.

    This is a good topic.

Whispers procs for hooked and dying state survivors. That's a fact.

Does anyone know if whispers procs when someone is inside a locker?

And if slugs are treated as "survivors being around", why do killers get camping-penalized when there's one hooked guy and a crawling survivor is near?

Lol. I feel better to know I'm not the only one who thought this. I also thought you ran slower while injured.

Stridor: I thought I will hear survivals breathing...

Reality: I did not hear anything...

I thought Lightborn made you immune to:

    • being burnt out of cloak as Wraith
    • drop survivors when flashlighted

    Turns out it prevents none

I thought No one left behind applied to all unhooks throughout the whole trial

If I knew as a noob what I know now,

I wouldn't have unlocked almost any teachables, except for 2 or 3.

I thought Boil Over increased your struggle speed, not struggle effects. :(

But hey, at least we have flip-flop! :)

I could swear to God that Boil Over slowed the time to get out of the foe's grasp by 75%. Is that the portuguese translations isn't very explanatory.

I thought technician actually helped with gen repair speed because I was a dummy and didn't read it beforehand lol at the same time I didn't even know self care existed!! I just bought the game and had never been really told about it or watched gameplay I just thought it looked like an awesome game , I wasn't wrong about the awesome game part at least lol

I actually thought BBQ showed auras of survivors around gens... Constantly.

Everyone used it so I thought it was THAT busted.

Increases chances of finding rarer items like keys, maps, good medkits and toolboxes.
