I'm surprised that there's only one thread talking about the reworks.
For those who missed the initial discussion:
-Freddy no longer manually puts people to sleep and can hit non-sleeping people normally now
-Being asleep no longer causes an action speed debuff
-Survivors now have sleep cycles: Microsleep and Actual Sleep; I think Survivors normally start in microsleep and automatically fall fully asleep after a minute?
-During Microsleep, Freddy can only be seen phasing in and out when outside a certain radius and is invisible when outside a certain bigger radius
-During Actual Sleep, Freddy's Heartbeat is replaced with the Lullaby
-Freddy can manually place down fake pallets that I think only fully asleep Survivors can see and explode in blood when a fully asleep Survivor tries to use one
-Devs are also considering giving Freddy Dream Snare Traps that will slow down a fully asleep Survivor for a certain period of time if said fully asleep Survivor steps in one; they are deciding if they want to make either this one or the fake pallet ability an add-on instead or if they want to just have them both be base kit
-Freddy can also charge up for 5 seconds to instantly teleport to a generator (I think this is where the Power Bar comes in?). The teleport is telegraphed by the generator he's targeting spewing blood everywhere.
-In addition to the current methods of waking up, asleep Survivors can wake up from the dream world by finding a drawer with a clock on it hidden in the trial

First impression he looks quite weak. We already know how effective a slowing trap will look from Clown.

Killers powers just keep getting more and more complex. Personally I rather a simple m2, He seems like he's got a lot going on and will probably have a lot of drawback too. I think i'll pass.

I don't think so. The teleport is quite long and the survivors can see it coming.

@Blueberry think of that with Surveillance though. He'd be a top tier gen protector maybe even better than Hag. And the best 3 gen killer.
But he can place it down in routes to make survivors lose map pressure and to make survivors slow down in chase.
That placing fake pallets is soooo strong. Think of that with STBFL and Brutal strength. With his ability to protect gens, stick to one half of the map, clear the pallets, place fake ones and use STBFL to have ridiculously short chasing.
And this is all in his base. Omg I might main him.

I just think it looks too gimmicky and not practical. The traps would have to be extreme to counter looping effectively.
I also dislike that his invisibility is basically gone. He's only really getting it from far away which is pretty irrelevant. If he had the stuttering in and out at close range now that might be a loooping counter, but alas it doesn't.
Unless their power counters looping they are stuck to mid tier.

Just to add, I think survivor action speeds are no longer slowed in Dream Mode.

I dont like the idea. Freddy is not that kind of killer who places "traps", IMO

I honestly was expecting to be more excited for Ghostface, but I really might be a Freddy main once this goes live.

I love how is teleport while chasing Dwight looked like something straight out of the original Nightmare on Elm Street

@Blueberry Billy can't counter looping and he was top tier. Same for PTB PLAG :D
Btw, ik Billy can curve, I've been learning it it's fun to try. But a good survivor will do a 180 turn the opposite way and avoid his saw.
Also the fake pallets helps with loops a lot. I genuinely might main him alongside Billy and Spirit. Hag bores me nowadays, too effortless like Nurse. I used to main Nurse too btw, her and Hag are too easy once mastered to be fun.
But Freddy, he sounds like a beast and a lot of fun.

Billy is the only exception, not the rule. They don't make killers like Billy anymore.
Plague was PTB, not actual release, so irrelevant.

Traps counter looping aka: Hag/Clown
The question is how practical they are. If it's too limiting we might have a Trapper scenario.
Regardless I like that we are getting more stealth and zoning Killers.

Not so much good survivors as good survivors do gens and wouldn't be watching him 24/7 but it will probably be close to useless against SWF comm players.

You're using the word trap extremely loosely.
Hag is a teleport and hit..which isn't at all what were working with here.
Clown is the better comparison and we know how bad he is. Seeing as the trap would be an additional ability to his main I can't imagine it being a better version of Clowns slow.

The problem is the map designs don't allow for stealth killer rank 1 viability.

Ok, so first off, gen teleporting sounds awesome, but 5 seconds with lots of visual warning means it basically gives survivors a full sprint burst away and whatever exhaustion they have on top of that.
Second, to do anything beyond being an M1 killer in a chase, I'm reliant on Dream Abilities to slow or trick survivors. Sure. BUT I have no actual way to force a survivor to sleep. It's just luck if I find a sleeping survivor, or if they fall asleep in a chase. It'd be like Plague having to wait for survivors to catch a cold rather than being able to infect them. Dream snares had better not be add ons only, as your whole power being fake pallets would be garbage, it so rarely matters with Doctor's add ons already.
It sounds decent to start with, but there's some big issues overall.

I imagine there'll be add-ons for his passive phasing when someone isn't in deep sleep; kind of like passive phasing on spirit. That would be cool.

They really didn't go into much detail. We have no idea if he did or not.

Don't forget, you have to look at the whole package. His traps alone won't be as good as clown bottles or trapper traps, but he also can teleport while they can't.
His fake pallets alone may not be as good as docs (not sure), but he has other powers.
I think they're really trying to emphasize map pressure and mind games with the new Freddy.
