The Blindness Status Effect
Blindness Introduction:
Let's admit it, Blindness is pretty useless besides being a slugging tool and no one likes slugging. Furthermore, it drastically punishes solo survivors because they can't counter Blindness like SWF can so therefore, SWF will thrive while solo survivors suffer. It's time that we change the status effect so that it has an equal affect on all parties.
The New Blindness Tier I Status Effect:
- Blindness will now hide all progress bars
- Blindness will now hide your item's remaining charges
- Blindness will now hide your perks (but will not deactivate them).
- Blindness will now hide all status effect notifications, progress bar modifiers (Ex: Increased Skill Check Chance), and perk modifiers (Ex: You won't see if you're affected by Dying Light or Leader).
- Being in direct contact with someone who's not affected by Blindness will cause them to be affected by Blindness, until you're no longer in direct contact.
The New Blindness Tier II Status Effect:
- Includes everything in Blindness Tier I, but it also hides all auras.
The only time you'll receive Blindness Tier II is when you hide in lockers, while you'll always Blindness Tier I from everything else.
So, what are your thoughts?

Sounds great the blindness effect has always felt a bit underwhelming and would like to see any possible build this would bring

I would say yes, if it wouldn't destroy every slugging build. If this is to be a thing, you'd have to destroy survivor builds with it somehow as well.

I still don’t think this would make a huge impact but it is better than the current one.

Yeah, its better than nothing tbh.
(Which is what current Blindness does, literally nothing useful except for slugging which rarely is put into practice unless situational.)

Imagine not knowing when the DS timer would expire because Blindness hides your perks. Imagine not knowing when you're about to use your toolbox which causes survivors to be too safe by not using it.

@FireHazard I rely pretty heavily on slugging as killer but blindness doesn’t help it too much since two man swf isn’t uncommon.

Updated the original post.
Holy moly my English is terrible! 😂 I need to stop staying up so late tbh!

We’d already know about dying light though and we’ve probably met our teammate with leader. It would be very hard to make blindness worth it.

I don’t think your English is terrible, may be that I also stay up too late.😂

Blindness also hides status effect notifications. This means you won't know when you borrow time will run out, or when your MYC exposed will run out.

It still seems just not worth it imo, what is stopping me from counting sixty seconds? As for bt I don’t think this would effect survivors very much since I could just count the full timer and try to take a hit.(probably better to keep looping though).

Tbh, unless the build is centered around slugging the effect is pretty situational.

Add a visual distortion and black fog at the edges of the survivor screen to lessen their field of vision. Boom blindness that actually (somewhat) blinds survivors.

As for counting 60 seconds, it won't be accurate since humans are known for their errors. Also, with Blindness, you can't tell when you're exposed, when you're cursed by a Hex, when you're item is about to be used up, when you're about to finish healing, when you're affected by leader, when MYC will expire, when you're affected by Blindness, when your exhaustion is about to expire, how many stacks you have a certain perk, and etc.

Soooooo basically this then
I would hate having to deal with something like this on a regular basis >_>

Hiding pretty much the whole UI (except the important things like skill checks and actions you can do) would be pretty interesting.
Your items could run out at any second but you wouldn't know that. You would also have to listen to the generators rather than rely on the progress bars.
The only problem with this would probably be the status effects with SWF groups. The other players could notify the blinded player how there's a NOED or Devour Hope active. They can also tell a person who's blinded and going to get unhooked that the rescuer has Borrowed Time or something.

How does that work?
Is this from huntresses Lullaby or Blindness itself?

This is a dumb bug that removes everything hud related except for auras. The map name just stays on the screen for the entire match.
More or less it's what the TC wants although I'm sure we'll still see skill checks.... maybe lol
