WOW WOW WOW WOW
Freddy's Red Paint Brush starts all survivors in Dream World and skill checks do not wake you up.
I might like the new Freddy after all.

Keep in mind there's no aura reading and no base slow down in dream state. That is worth A LOT less in his new context.
All that's giving you is a lullaby instead of heartbeat and you can use your pallets or traps against them now..that's it. Dream state really doesn't seem like much of a downside in his new format.

You act like fake pallets is worse than aura reading...

Do we know any other perks besides that one?

Glad the Aura reading is gone, my Claudette's ass is tired of t-bagging every time I hear the Heart Beat fade just to hear it again.

We already know how good fake pallets are from playing Doctor.

Those fake pallets disappear when you get near them. Freddy is able to place pallets that look and act just like regular pallets, only they explode into blood when dropped (and do not stun the killer). This means that a survivor could end up looping a pallet that isn't actually there, making it very easy to get a hit.

Will it have any interaction with Windows of Opportunity? Having a fake pallet not glow would be a nice bonus.
3 -
Ah well they didn't specify that.
I guess this all depends on its cooldown then as to whether it's effective enough or not.
Same for the traps with cooldown, how much they slow by and whether or not the trap and the killers animation putting it down are visible to them.

omg i choked on my drink to that lol

We don't need to already start nerfing Freddy before he's even finished.

Tut Tut should of watched the stream 😉
But no he doesn't he moves full speed. The pallet or trap appears over a second or so however
1 -
They said no on todays stream, full speed.

I thought that was with his traps.

Well, killers spammed the forum af when MoM was leaked..

I wouldn't quite call those comparable.
Freddy has been in a garbage state for ages, survivors are not.
1 -
And? In both cases, you gotta wait until stuff is official/set in stone
2 -
I know we should wait to stuff be released.
Im just dropping that here :)

I guess I interpreted that phrase from the stream differently.
Anywho it's too early to tell without having any numbers or specifics yet. We'll have to wait on more details.

And he still has add-ons that slow down action speed (less than the stupid amount right now).
As for the aura reading going away, they merely took power out of his dream world, which is fair because his ENTIRE POWER BUDGET is there in the current iteration (since he does nothing to awake survivors, that's a necessity). Now that he's gonna be a normal killer when survs are awake and will be able to warp to gens, it's only fair that dream world doesn't have as much loaded in it as it does in live.
I love the direction they're taking with the updates (first Legion, now Freddy). Making the killers more powerful baseline so that their powers don't have to be overloaded for them to exist in the game.

Having some that can be added from perks is nice, it just has me worried about addon dependency which is a huge issue already that the majority of killers have.

@Peanits wait a sec. Does the blood pallet (that's what I'm calling the pallets freddy leaves btw) stun freddy if it hits him kinda like spirit furry? Since presumably it explodes after they are done throwing the pallet.
0 -
He said they do not stun the killer.
0 -
Did... did you seriously not read his post? He literally says it does not stun the killer at all.
My question was if the pallet blood'splotion hurt the survivor, but from what @Peanits said it does not seem that way. To be honest I'm not quite sure using an add-on slot to change from Snares to Dream Pallets is going to be worth it (depending how many you can actually place of each).
The Dream Pallets don't particularly sound strong if all they do is trick the survivors into thinking they're there, assuming they weren't paying attention while awake and don't know it's fake, which is a real possibility.
Dropping a fake pallet should have another effect besides the blood VFX. If injured is too strong, then perhaps hindered or blurred vision or something.

Freddy nerfed into oblivion. Called it

The new meme for Freddy will be Spirit Fury/Enduring but respect pallets, even the fake ones.

Dream State is the new Plague sickness and Legion deep wounds. Oh boy. Raise your hand if you have no intention of trying to wake up anymore. #NappinGenRushFTW

Well, add-on dependency is a problem with the weaker killers, sure. I think a lot of the problems with them could be solved if you just added some of them as baseline (Trapper Bag for Trapper, Windstorm for Wraith, and please for the love of god everything that affects Pig's crouch).
I hope that instead of add-on dependecy Freddy ends up like Spirit who has a ton of really cool add-ons but isn't overly reliant on any of them. A man can dream.

Honestly after seeing them talk about Freddy on stream, I worry they may be walking a tightrope. It's sounding like Nu-Freddy is going to be more addon reliant than the Doctor, especially with the awful 60 second passive sleep. Action Speed Reducers are going to be useless with that insanely long sleep time, and even then they're pointless with the Wake Up Objects scattered around.
Also, since I got a chance to see the stream now, the fact that you have no way to control your intermittent appearances in the micronaps means that it's basically Spirit's passive phase, rather than a proper tool. Frankly, the only thing that's sounding even remotely threatening about Nu-Freddy is the Gen TP, and that has a ton of warning on it so it's whatever.
1 -
Meh, weak for the ultra rare. Plus survivors will still have an ability to gtfo from the dream world by using cloacks.
1 -
We're not sure how much warning it has atm. Even with like 4s-ish warning it's still a good map pressure tool depending on the range.
I know that losing stuff on his current kit can be frustrating, but everything about Freddy without add-ons is largely number dependent. We'll only have an idea of how good/bad it is until we have numbers on his abilities, on the intermitent image distance (I swear the dev on stream was more confused than us when talking about that, he said both 16m and 32m in various circumstances) and on how many traps he's gonna be able to place.
I think at least the concept of his abilities is solid enough that number changes can balance him quite well, unlike the current iteration.

But Dream State will no longer be Aura Read by Freddy, so it's seriously no big deal.
This is a huge step in the right direction, the less killer aura-reading in this game, the better.
