All these disrespectful threads need to stop.
Seriously people, this is supposed to be an M rated game.
All these threads bashing and insulting the developers - even calling them by their actual names and saying personal stuff - saying their work is worthless garbage, that they're clueless, this and that.
Man. This just shows how much of a spoiled, disrespectful, narrowminded community this game has. I guess you would all love to be bashed and insulted in a public forum. But sarcasm aside, I already know you'd be crying about being cyber-bullied and needing hugs and little pats in the back.
You're the ones actually being a disgrace. Not to your jobs (because I bet most of you don't even have one) but a disgrace to decency and basic good manners.
There's a huge difference between being vocal about criticism on one hand and being disgustingly rude on the other one. You're only guaranteeing absolutely no one takes you seriously. You know, like a spoiled 4 year old kid throwing tantrums, yelling, spitting, kicking, drooling. Just like that.
If you're used to acting like jerks to each other in the threads and you allow it/promote it, don't take the same attitude to the devs, which have never participated in any name calling or disrespected you in a personal level.
Many will argue that criticism gets ignored time and again and that they have to act like punks to get their point across.
I disagree. If you are tired of trying to provide constructive feedback just to get ignored, you should:
a) Leave, since you're convinced you're getting ignored, and there's no point
or
b) Stay, voice your inconformity in a respectful manner and then vote with your wallet. So many of you just rush and trip on your way to the store every time a cosmetic or DLC is released, and will be the first ones throwing money at the battle pass or whatever the name will be.
I didn't like Legion, I'm not fully convinced about Plague, and I don't like Ghostface. Guess what, I won't buy any of them until I actually like them, if ever. But there's no need to be an idiot about it.
If you dislike the game, the decisions, or even the devs in a personal level and you're willing to be a jerk about it, do everyone a favor and take your bad manners somewhere else. Like your own house, where they surely belong.

When being civil has absolutely no impact, people turn to being more direct/aggressive. I went with the sarcastic approach in my thread.
But nobody should be surprised about this. They refuse to listen, we'll call them out for it.
22 -
I don't like people being vulgar and rude either. You can voice your opinion and give suggestions without bad words. It is not hard thing to do no matter how angry you are. Lashing out doesn't help anyone nor change anything except someones feelings. How would you feel if someone calls you dumb idiot and what not? Yeah thought so.
23 -
Despite your intentions of stopping toxicity towards the developers you're basically just running against a wall like a rank 20 Meg because people who act disrespectfully do it regardless of wether they get called out for it or not as they're not in control of their manners due to poor socialisation and/or bad personality.

Sure, because we're treating matters of the utmost importance here. You know, we're fixing poverty, hunger, human rights and stuff alike.
It's a videogame. Let that sink in.
11 -
It's not about it being a video game; the dev team actually doesn't think highly of their community's members as people. This is shown by their unwillingness to communicate with us or take any kind of feedback. They just do whatever they want and spit in our face.
But keep assuming I can't live without DBD, man.
5 -
And you are acting just like them now. How is that a good example?
6 -
Constructive criticism has previously been met with open scorn(remember the Spirit PTB was only 2 hours old) and complete disregard (Plague 4ks at rank 1 and you all need to learn how to use her).
Not much left to turn to after that.
4 -
Take option A) if you're really convinced about that. No need to be rude about it.
If half the things that are being said here behind anonimity were said in a real life neighborhood, teeth would fly all over the place.
3 -
Sounds like a party to me.
Seriously though, I've thought about going to a Con and asking BHVR respectful, yet difficult and uncomfortable questions about their process so that they can't run away from the issue without forcing me out of the Con.
Very few of the developers actually speak with us. It's mostly liaisons between us and them. Pretty ineffective imo.
Corey Barlog for instance was very open about their process for God of War, and would directly respond to and speak with people about the game.
Dave Richard hardly ever shows his face anymore.

DbD has a forum, a twitter account, streams, and people whose job is actually communicating with the playerbase.
If you think you've been ignored and their job is not good, stop paying for it and look for a better game. My guess is you've already milked enough hours out of an entertainment product with a price tag around $20 - $80 USD for the full stuff.
No one has spit in your face, ever. Stop it.
4 -
Your option a) is for quitters and those who don't want the game to improve. Those people leave without a word and you never see them again.
The most vocal are those who appreciate the game and want it to succeed.
2 -
Being vocal does not equal being disrespectful. There's a huge difference.
And those people actually interested in the game improving, may take option B)
5 -
And when option b) is met with open ridicule?
1 -
Excuse me, but when did that even happen? Being met with open ridicule? I've never seen or heard that from them.
You may not like their decisions, I agree though. I happened to log in around the pre-release Legion stream where they ACTUALLY said not every killer was meant to be viable. Give or take words, they said "if you want to kill people pick Billy or Nurse".
At that moment I understood Legion was not my kind of killer. I knew what was their mindset at the time and decided not to buy it. No amount of crying and kicking the wall would turn Legion into a killer I would pick to play, ever. I'm not fully convinced about Plague yet, and looks like not many players pick her so there's not much info around effective ways of playing her, so I'm still sitting in the fence.
And there's no problem, I already play Billy, Huntress, Spirit, Leatherface, Myers, Wraith, Trapper, Doc, Piggy, all of whom I highly like.
Then MoM came and compromised my ability to enjoy playing half of them, and I voiced my opinion a hundred times in these forums. Not a single time I called them any names. I just expressed my dislike at the perk and proposed (along with a lot of players) ideas to change it. Peanits was participating in most of those threads (unsurprisingly, the ones not swearing and bashing them), and never ridiculed any player.
Guess what, they listened and they're trying to rework it and strike balance.
Either way, you choose what kind of person you are, because your actions define you.
I choose to be respectful, and if my inconformity ever gets to the point of going over my head, and there's nothing else I can do to communicate effectively, I'll just leave, instead of becoming aggressive with the devs.
It's a videogame. Not life and death. Not malnourished kids working 16 hours a day. Nothing worth being aggressive over, to summarize it.

Bang on the money. Bumping back to front page.

Being quiet is being complicit with everything that's happening.
NO company or developer should be immune to criticism.
6 -
There's criticism and down right disrespect.
A lot of what's on these forums falls into the latter category.
I often gauge it by "would they say it to their faces"...
5 -
With their actions the past half year, they deserve being bashed as long as it's not a personal insult. They've had it coming. Their stream yesterday was refreshingly open and transparent again, maybe it's a sign that they're rethinking how they treated their community lately. However, they've done so much bad that it'll take a lot of time and effort for them to regain the trust and civility of their community veterans.
9 -
On the one hand, I agree and honestly in spite of my massive salt regarding certain recent reveals, I'm not the kind of person to go after people personally, and I think that the people that go full personal bash are probably hurting their willingness to deal with the community.
On the other hand though, this time due to my massive salt, I'm starting to actually enjoy watching the saltstorms manifest. Honestly, I'm not surprised people are fed up with them though, and when valid concerns get hand waved away with stats I can definitely see why people get the way they do. I think BHVR can rebuild the trust they had with most of the community around 2.0, but it'd be a long, rough road with very little room for error.
4 -
@DocOctober They have received a ton of criticism lately, for sure. I haven't agreed with many decisions they've made either. I've posted my inconformity in a civilized manner and I've already voted with my wallet about some of those decisions.
You said it right, it will take some effort to fully regain the trust of their community veterans.
What I'm just saying is there's no need to get personal or rude with them. It shows a lack of maturity from many forum members, and it only guarantees that whatever is being said just gets discarded and ignored as a childish rant.

Look I have my own issues with the game but I don't openly harass the Dev team. I have voiced concerns, made my own opinions and even suggested changes I'd personally like to see. At the end of the day its their game and they can do with it what they will. I have to say the team at BHVR is one of the most socially active/engaged teams I have ever seen. They have frequent streams and are always interacting with the community. The issue isn't that they "aren't listening" but that everyone wants to see exactly what THEY want implemented and if that isn't the case they lash out like children.
Sure not everyone is like this as we have some great people on these forums but due to so many people living in "echo chambers" where they can feel empowered by screaming online with no penalty for their words they continue to foster this toxic behavior.
I'm not a huge fan of the current direction of the game (although I do like some of the changes that are in the works, we shall see) and thus have taken a big break from the game, only playing a couple matches every now and then. I'm not quitting the game as I love it as a whole product and really do enjoy the team behind it.
I wish them all the best as nobody wants a project they poured all their time and passion into destroyed, and I know BHVR wants to see this game continue to grow.
2 -
As I said, I too am against personal attacks, but considering how Feedback got ignored in general, constructive or not, I get why people turn to the less civil version of it out of frustration.
3 -
Well the majority of this is just people have had it with products released in a awful state or even put in ptb at a bad state. There is a limit to patience
0 -
Mate can you climb on down from your high horse for a quick second?
Maybe if you actually open your eyes and see the games current state, you might be able to see why the community is as outraged as it is. Yeah im also against personal attacks on the devs, but sometimes they need to be told what to do and how to do it by their community, actually open their eyes and do what the community wants.
Not gut killers that didn't need gutting or releasing killers half finished. If the devs cared enough to release working content (not necessarily bug-free from the get-go because mistakes happen) but at least a functional product, then i think the community would care enough to address them with a bit more dignity.
3 -
Just nailed it.

I'm torn on how common these posts are. On one hand, I'm happy more of them are showing up so that the general discontent of some players can have a chance to be heard. On the other hand, I'm seriously sad it has gotten to this point when it could've been prevented by the developers if they were only willing to listen from the very start.
2 -
couldn't agree more mate. Sad that it has gotten to this state but at this point it has to otherwise i don't see any way how the game can be improved upon if things carried on as they have been.
3 -
If enough people just stop playing and buying their #########, then they'll wise up. All they care about is money.

Basically mini EA without star wars....

three years and most issues is still here sure most of them will get fixed. Wanna some example to why the forums is angry simple.
- DS took three to be reworked.
- Same goes for Freddy.
- Before MoM was released we told devs that he would be broken. (in KYF there was a 4 hit requirement which was changed to three). then they released it now they gonna kill it because they don't know to fix it not that i care.
- Ghostface is the first DLC on the year and he is LITERALLY worst than Freddy himself darn.
- rank system haven't changed in three years and will only be changed between C14-15.
- Matchmaking we all know what's the problem (Dedicated servers is coming between chp12-13) after two years of 30min queues on PS4.
- 95% of the perks aren't used at red ranks because the meta perks destroy the others.
as for punishment they are almost inexistant ( derank , DC ) those should be punished sure DC will be fixed soon but still.
Anyway a lot of you don't want to see the truth and downvote peoples.
My final words on this thread.
Devs are cowards they don't want this game to be balanced for both sides (that's why there is so much hate). I might be mean but, i'm not insulting anyone and try to stay civil.
2 -
They are extremely slow fixing anything mount st helens will erupt again before they do.
