It finally happened
Tonight very few killers are playing.
My Survivor Queues for the first time in all the time I've been playing are taking more than a minute. This does not bode well.

I think something is wrong with the matchmaking - again. I'm trying to play killer but have to wait like 10 minutes for people to get into my lobby and they always happen to have random ranks (everything from 1 to 20).

Be patient, you'll get a game eventually.... then 1-3 people will disconnect/leave the game. Have fun!

It is reaching a point where I'm feeling penalized for playing the killers I enjoy the most. The only killer I can consistently do well with against good survivors is Spirit, but even then survivors randomly get Iron Will halfway through matches on some maps. Matches are pretty much over by the time I get set up with Trapper in red ranks, and he's probably my favorite killer in the game. Good survivors just abuse Myers in red ranks. Freddy...we already know. Plague is fun with Corrupt Purge but nobody cleanses. I like Billy but I'm not particularly good with him. Never learned Nurse. Hag is super exploitable but stomps uncoordinated solos. I love Spirit, and I usually pip up to red ranks with her, start to play lower tier killers that I also enjoy, and depip out of red ranks. I just feel like I should be able to play killers I like but also have fair games.

When you say they randomly get Iron Will you are referring tohe soundbug right?
Anyway I think I just realized the problem. My rank has been slowly climbing up I'm in purple ranks again. Maybe killers are sparse in the purples these days? I mean killers have it tough in the higher ranks. Hopefully I get smashed so I rank back down to Green.

It fluctuates back and forth based on various factors. The only time the game has ever had a serious problem was back when the Halloween chapter released.

Yeah, Yamaoka Estate is the worst offender. On that map in particular, I've noticed survivors sometimes stop crying out in pain for the rest of the match after the first hook, and sounds tend to echo back and forth in my headset on the killer shack corner of the map. It's really hard to describe, but the survivor noises "bounce" from left to right if they're near the shack.
I know for a fact killers are rare in the purple-red ranks, because I often get yellow rank killers in my purple survivor rank games, and I get red rank to yellow rank survivors (like rank 1 all the way to rank 13 in some games) in my killer games.

You act as if I have never played Killer.
And no, not a joke. Survivor Queues for me are usually 5 seconds. Tonight my queues are going 2 mins or so. And I'm playing Solo. Very unusual.

There could be several reasons for this. One of the two main reasons is maybe there are not enough people playing killers. Another reason might be you're just unlucky.

By the way, does this mean on PS4 nobody plays Killer? I'd imagine playing killer is significantly harder on PS4 compared to PC.
As for luck, well, one or two games would be luck. But tonight all my survivor games take more than a minute to get into a lobby.

@Mochan When your frames constantly drop for all the little things it can get pretty annoying. We don't even have consistent 40 fps yet ;-;

On PS4 red ranks survivor I get about 2-3 games in one hour if I'm lucky. Mostly because the killers their love to cherry pick and dodge constantly. It's honestly rarely enjoyable.
I finally started using DS to defend myself from other survivors and I usually just get hit by a mori immediately lol. I seriously am starting to hate always ending up in this rank. And wish they would just lower the max rank to like 5 or something. That way i can actually play against more than the same 8 players..

I don't derank on purpose like killers do.
I derank because I get killed. I.e. -- I wasn't good enough so I lost pips.
Man I still haven't found a game. I'm pushing 3 minutes now. I have an awful lot of time to post as a result.

I play killer on ps4. We don’t even have to wait very long for lobbies on release dlc days.

Being a killer on PS4 is very stressful. My secret to success is that I ready up immediately and don’t pay attention to the lobby. Then I ignore pips and whack survivors with blunt objects until I get me points. It’s quite therapeutic.

Yeah I don't really play seriously enough to study lobby etc. I play the game to have fun. If I die or if the survivors don't die so be it. When I'm in lobby I am basically posting here hehe.

Assuming 1 minute is a huge delay, and assuming the delay is caused by Killer (mains) not playing, isn't that what people speaking out about it wanted?
You know, "these whiny Killers should just leave" and stuff...

I'm a PS4 players some seasons back i was used to getting 30min queues with SwF. i've always been rank 1 killer and survivor even with the queues. whatever reasons you derank you deserve the salt mine.

At least for me, I found another game well more interesting, it is the other one from the other developer team.
And sure, in Dead by Daylight I also started to play survivor to see how life is on the sunny side of life.

Im one of the ps4 players that went from playing surviour to killer because of long wait times. I became a devoted pig main but do my dailys of course but that being said i used to play alot now resorted to one night a week because yeah its not fun personally and the one night i play is after alot of drinking so that says alot lol killer isn't a fun experience not in the slightest its stressful and i see the same perks used over all 4 players just different faces lol its getting stale even with new end game. I still love my girl enjoy the one night a week but even then im like ok ugh... 😕🐷
i love the idea of the game it has such promise but when playing its just uuuhhh hey brick wall heres my face by the end of it.
I am blessed tho shout out to ps4 players i get alot of positive messages and thanks for that 🐷❤️

I think it's a bug. I've had the same issue this week as both killer and survivor. They're at similar ranks, too.

Wouldn't surprise me. I'm a killer main and have been slowly realizing I don't like the game anymore. Bming/toxicity from both sides in general, "gen rush" etc leaves me questioning why I even play when it leaves me frustrated.
Wouldn't doubt if others are starting to feel this way. I played survivor to understand that side of the fame but I never enjoyed playing as a survivor.
They need to completely revamp the survivors objective in powering the gate so it's not hold r1 simulator, requires more focus, and more in depth.
