Question about dedicated servers - Will survivors see killer profiles?
Will survivors be able to see the killer's Steam profile before the game starts?
Edit: Fixed the title

Highly doubt it.

Their reason for that being impossible now wouldn’t change; do probably not.

@Redd What is their reasoning behind it?

Yes, you can see my profile and leave me another trophy I mean comment AFTER I've watch you fight in vain and die screaming

survivors looked at things to try and figure out which killers they were going to face. This is intended to be hidden information, so they made you unable to see it.

Survivors used to be able to see who was in the lobbies using the community tab.
Survivors could block a killer through steam and then check the lobby once they joined to see if that killer was on their block list. Then dodge.
The Devs removed that ability, cause survivors would dodge a killer all the time...
Then MLGA was born... The Devs whitelisted it for awhile, until a new feature was added that could allow a blanket block of an entire SWF group.
The Devs removed MLGA from the whitelist because of that.
MLGA will be useless once dedicated servers come out.
Survivors dodge and block for small reasons...
Killers can do the same... their ability to still block players in steam and then look them up when in the lobby.. is an issue I think.. but not as big as survivors doing it.
...
Who knows what will happen once dedicated servers come in.. it will probably stay the same for awhile, until there is an up roar about it and the Devs remove the ability from anyone seeing who is in the lobby.
..
Allowing survivors to see who the killer player is, probably isn't a good idea, since it has been shown it wasn't in the earlier days.

People can leave msgs on your wall saying who you play. And the point is probably that’s some people might not know this is a thing and or shouldn’t be forced to alter their profiles to avoid a disadvantage.

Yeah, I could see that. But wouldn't this apply to survivors as well?

Probably not. When survivors could see the killers' profiles, many of them dodged for every reason they could think of, but basically they dodged because the killer killed them. This broke lobbies (literally, it bugged lobbies so they would never be filled) and massively increased queue times for everyone who didn't dodge.

If there was considerable variety in survivor builds, or if killers actually went to the trouble of doing that, you might have a point, but neither is true.

The killer can already see your items, and it mainly exists for other survivors to look at.

@Orion We're venturing slightly off topic (my fault), and this isn't a major issue for me. But: while there are no point in trying to figure out survivors' different builds, there are a lot of killers dodging lobbies based on friend lists/countries when they suspect SWF-teams. I've seen it multiple times and I'll admit I've done it a few times myself.

I've been dodged myself. Trust me, I know. However, that's still nothing compared to the major shitstorm that occurred when survivors were dodging lobbies left and right, believe me.

I believe you!

Just hide everybody's names. Problem solved.

But killer can dodge a survivor?
It's exactly the same..
Oh a survivor I dont like Leave lobby
You think that's healthy for the game?

By your logic, survivor should see the killer too, so if it is a doctor CALM SPIRIT.
You like it?, I guess not.
Why should killers be allowed to see the survivor loadout?
That's an unfair unadvantage, because if I use a item > franklin's demise.
(And im talking by your logic btw), because I know this is not healthy for the game
