I mean I agree and disagree.
I agree because all of what you mentioned, are indeed doable with Poised and can work SUPER DUPER well with a Houdini build.
I also disagree because its very situational, and it can only work with the Houdini build, nothing else.

My standard build is:
Sprint Burst
Self Care
Urban Evasion
Borrowed Time / Bond / Iron Will / Quick & Quiet
Why should I run Poised over one of those?

Like I said in other threads:
The majority of survivor perks are "underrated", this happens because average survivors only like second chance OP perks.

They aren't underrated. They just aren't as good as the super ultra meta perks. For better or worse, a few very powerful perks mean the rest are kind of hard to justify past a certain rank.

Uuuuh, talk to your average survivor main and they will tell you how "useless" and "garbage" the majority of survivor perks are.

Because Sprint Burst is garbage.
And Urban Evasion.
And Self Care to a degree.
That's like the full new-player-trap build.

Or maybe you just dont know when and how to use them.

To be honest, none of the survivor perks are so necessary that you can't run anything you want. It's not like killer where you need perks to do really well.

I run poised w/ sprint burst and it works wonders on losing the killers trail, not to mention the moments when a generator gets completed mid-chase.
And no sprint burst isn’t garbage as long as you’re not one of those people who crouch walk everywhere to save it.

It's great when it works. But often times gens pop right after another, and timing is practically random (unless you're using it to pop a gen right next to the killer).
It's not useless, it's inconsistent.

@Redd swap out self care for a med kit, and then run poised in the free slot. Use QaQ as the 4th.

You know what's even better? Distortion.
If you're injured and the killer has Nurse's Calling, you can activate Distortion while in a chase by healing yourself for a split second. Boom, no scratch marks for 10 seconds without the need of a generator! Try doing this while the killer is breaking the pallet, and you can be sure that they won't find you! :)

I would rather bring a flashlight or key.
If you're injured a good killer will hear where you went. You can blame that one on those people who use flashlights at every pallet.

It's a real good idea. But since a lot of killer have B&C, the 3 tokens for distortion are gone very fast sometimes. And that the killer have nurse calling isn't a guarantee as well.

You can combine Distortion with Object Of Obsession to bully Ghost Face

Why should I run poised? The issue with poised is, that it can just get used 5 times, you can't controle then to use it and sometimes you don't need the effect.
The idea behind the perk is not bad: multiple 10 seconds without leaving scratch marks doesn't sound bad, but sadly the reality looks different.

Personally if I have a survivor with urban evasion in my lobby I instantly think they are bad. 9/10 I'm correct about this but any good survivor can make a bad perk work.
But poised is definitely underrated. I used it for a month after it was released and it saved my life a lot of time. If MoM wasnt released I'd probably still be running it now. Also works well with Adrenaline

@anarchy753 it isn't tho. It has a diffrent use than other exhaustion perks

lul, talking about "this is garbage, that is garbage" thanks for proving my point :3

My problem with Poised is that is so random because I play most of time solo. Also, I prefer other perks like Kindred, Aftercare, Tenacity, etc.

Urban Evasion lets you be far more stealthy in situations where you wouldn't run anyways, because you don't want to leave scratch marks. It effectively halves your profile size as one of the female survivors while allowing you to move at walking speed crouched. This is useful for mind-gaming killers who by definition have to lose line of sight of you temporarily (i.e. Nurse, Spirit) or killers who haven't gained full sight of you yet. It allows you to do some things in stealth that aren't otherwise possible. It's also invaluable against the Hag, it makes it a very slight amount easier to dodge hatchets while looping, and it lets you recover from Madness faster against the Doctor without sacrificing all of your speed. Combine that with the ability to break los just that little bit easier, and Urban Evasion is a situational but great perk that is useful versus a wide range of killers. The main problem with the perk is that people use it 24/7 even when they are in no danger (I personally rarely use it outside of terror radius and/or LOS of the killer), which is sacrificing speed for no good reason. But if you have good reason to walk in any given situation, than this perk is invaluable.

Sprint Burst hard counters the initial surprise attack from Pig and Legion. It also soft counters the initial attack from Freddy, Wraith, Michael, Nurse, Huntress, Clown, Plague, and Spirit. Basically it soft counters anyone who wants to sneak up on you invisibly or anyone who is going to try to initiate a chase with a targeted projectile (which includes the Nurse for sake of this particular example). The extra time bought while initiating a chase is very invaluable, because it makes it effectively impossible to catch you out of position. That initial burst of speed, used properly, is almost always enough to get to some nearby loop before you would go down.
Sprint Burst is the only exhaustion perk you can trigger immediately after being unhooked or immediately after getting off of a generator while healthy. These are the two most valuable and likely situations in which you'll use the perk. Sprint Burst comes off cooldown when you get hooked, and it should come off cooldown while you are doing a generator. Unless you are not paying proper attention to where the killer is, it is very rare for you to be caught off cooldown completely unprepared. In the situations where you are caught off cooldown, the remaining cool down timer should often be low enough that there are still ways to recover that small amount of exhaustion while looping, and the perk is still useful in loops because of this unless you are playing badly. While the perk DOES require some cooldown management, it is nowhere near as bad as some people have come to think, and it is completely wrong to walk everywhere in order to "save it". In fact, one of the appeals is that sometimes you can smartly use it outside of a chase to get to other places faster. The other really big appeal is that you can use Sprint Burst 3-5 times in chases alone in most games with 3 being almost guaranteed, while other exhaustion perks are not quite at that level of consistency on every single map against every single killer. And the use of Sprint Burst is on demand not something you have to do an action or be injured to trigger.
Like all the other exhaustion perks there are some situational conditions to it, but Sprint Burst is a very good perk I use 8+ times in a very large number of my games. I consider it completely irreplaceable.
