Stealth killers

Should stealth killers be completely countered by Object of obsession?

It feels kind of weird that we get another stealth killer who's power gets nullified by a perk.

Ghostface needs to sneak up to someone that sees him at all times and don't even get me started on wraith....

Why is that a thing?

No, I think Kindred should be the only perk to trump killer via aura, but then Spine Chill & Premonition should still proc on all stealth killers

Those who already run OoO will also run it when Ghost Face is live.

But other than a short peak when he is new, not many more players will run Detection Perks. So in the end, you will not notify any change after a few weeks, when not everyone is playing Ghost Face.

@RotBb Spine chill and premonition still warn you a stealth killer is coming defeating the purpose of stealth killers.

Especially Ghost since you turn off his entire power by knowing he's coming and looking at him.

But that’s their entire purpose. There is no point in having them in the game without being able to do that.

@RotBb That's not 100% true. They warn you from 36 meters away. Your perk would go off before any non-stealth killer is in TR range (32m) giving you slightly more time to hide from them.

    Chill also has speed bonuses.

Stealth killers are not countered by OOO. They just need to hunt the OOO down and tunnel him into the grave.

If you can't even do that when you have perfect knowledge of your prey.... GIT GUD.

But in the grand scheme of things, they are ONLY truly effective against stealth killers. The heartbeat gives every other killer away, stealth killers rely on no heartbeat. Those TWO perks aren’t used enough to be effective, anyways

Imagine complaining about less than mediocre Perks like Spine Chill or Premonition.

@Aven_Fallen How do you not see an issue with perks warning you a killer is coming.

Specifically when said killers entire power is all about sneaking up on people?

Spine Chill and Premonition are garbage. They're not garbage when they tell you

"hey the killer is coming better look at him to take his entire power away!" Instantly removing all strategy/stealth approaches from the killer

Even the devs admit they defeat the purpose of the stealth killers so they're looking into changing them.

They are quite situational. And they are only worth mentioning because Ghost Face is coming out soon. But, while indeed more people will run those Perks during the days after Release, once people are not playing that much Ghost Face anymore (either because they grinded him or because he simply is not new and they prefer their favorite Killers), people will not use those Perks in such a high number as they will when he is fresh on Live.

And in the end, it is true - this is the purpose of those Perks. And using those less than mediocre Perks will remove a Perk Slot for an actual good Perk.

(Also from my experience, the people who are using Premonition right now are...not really those kind of Survivors a Killer should fear)

Your fears will last less than a week, then people will find Billy and regret their choice to use Object of Immediate Hook. XD

Should stealth survivors be countered by Nurse's Calling, B&C, Bitter murmur, Blood Warden, Deerstalker, Discordance, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, I'm All Ears, Infectious Fright, Iron Maiden, Rancor, Spies from the Shadows, Stridor, Surveillance, Territorial Imperative, Tinkerer, Thrilling Tremors and Whispers?

And also OoO, noises, scratch marks, crows or even doing nothing?

    @prayer_survivor

Nurses calling:You're loud as ######### healing anyway.

B&C: Soft countered by lockers, pretty much hard countered by how far a survivor can get before you can reach them.

Blood Warden: Doesn't break stealth, just stalls the game and actually encourages going back to stealth mode

Deerstalker: This only finds downed survivors, and is way more useful for finding them so they don't bleed out and waste your time forever.

Discordance: Promotes individuality, you'll learn they have it and make sure there's not 2+ people on a gen.

Hex: TOTH: A defense perk. This is to pull you out of stealth and expose you to possibly remove a kllers perk. It's a Risk/Reward.

I'm All Ears: Like BBQ, they're usually too far away for it to be useful And who quickvaults out of the terror radius anyway?

Infectious Fright: A defense against flashlight saves most of the time, and more discourages working together.

Iron Maiden: A true stealth killer, but can be outplayed easily once you know it's there.

Rancor: Triggers 5 times, and it's a notification. Try getting that to pop when you need it.

Spies from the Shadows: Well you aint exactly being stealthy if you're scaring crows, this is just a noob perk for those who don't pay attention. A good killer can track you by crows alone sometimes.

Stridor: Requires you to be very near a survivor to have any effectiveness.

Surveillance: A patrol tool more then a stealth killer. Tap the gen and run, see what happens. At most you'll only have 1 survivor who has to break stealth to keep the killer unaware.

Territorial Imperative: An area control perk for the basement, it's more for guarding then breaking stealth

Tinkerer: Triggered by survivors, and it's main bonus, the terror radius, is useless on low mobility killers, and high mobility killers are loud af

Thrilling Tremors: Most of the time is wasted when you pick someone up, and survivors will adapt and rather wait for the block then be detected.

Whispers: The most ineffective perk I've ever seen to find a survivor. Only works for new killers who haven't found any better detection perks.

I'm only saying that killers can't protest for survivors using 1 perk against a killer, when they have dozens.

    @prayer_survivor

"Should stealth survivors be countered by Nurse's Calling..."

Don't heal in the killer's Terror Radius. If the killer happens to be a 24 and under terror radius killer, make peace with your god and pray as you heal.

    "...BB&C..."

Lockers, going in range, hiding behind a gen (this still works, you just need to have awareness how BB&C works), faking your direction, Distortion.

    "...Bitter murmur..."

Who runs this? Also this only takes effect if you are in range/complete the generators except for the last one.

    "...Blood Warden..."

    Negligible. This requires:

    A) For you to be in the exit area

    B) The killer having to hook someone

This is not to mention you already basically won and you don't need stealth anymore. Leaving is a valid option.

    "...Deerstalker..."

You're down at that point, the killer would find you eventually anyways.

    "...Discordance..."

This perk has the prerequisite of requiring two people on a generator at the same time. That, and it doesn't show YOUR aura, just the generator.

    "...Hex: Thrill of the Hunt..."

... Do I really have t- Urgh. Fine. Thrill of the Hunt doesn't reveal your aura, in fact it does little besides telling the killer you are on it or another Hexed totem. I don't know why you included this here.

    "...I'm All Ears..."

This perk will only be useful on the off chance a survivor is specifically running perks that deal with trying to be stealthy in a chase. Even then it's negligible enough it wouldn't be ran very often.

    "...Infectious Fright..."

    Doesn't reveal aura.

    "...Iron Maiden..."

Doesn't reveal aura and doesn't last long enough to actually be effective. You won't see this unless you are against a Doctor or Speed Reloader Huntress.

    "...Rancor..."

Reveals YOUR aura, but not survivor auras. Rancor is used to murder the obsession to death in endgame.

    "...Spies from the Shadows..."

Was a great perk, then got nerfed to the ground again. Also doesn't reveal auras.

    "...Stridor..."

    Now I know you're reaching.

    "...Surveillance..."

Doesn't reveal your aura, it's a gen protector perk.

    "...Territorial Imperative..."

    When does this get used?

    "...Tinkerer...

At that point the generator is gonna get down before the killer can stop you, and it stops the killer's Terror Radius. Doesn't reveal the survivors aura.

    "...Thrilling Tremors..."

Long Cooldown and countered by not touching the gens. Doesn't show survivor aura.

    "...and Whispers?"

Doesn't show survivor auras, can be overpowered with Scratch Mirror Myers but otherwise just helps you generalize survivor location.

"And also OoO, noises, scratch marks, crows or even doing nothing?"

    What?

@RotBb pleaseelaborate. Going "You're wrong" without evidence isn't helping your case.

Surveillance for one, how are you going to play stealthily if you can’t do the objective, it’s either you tell the killer you’re on the gen, or you sit And wait For them to give up. Thrilling tremors, how are you supposed to know when another survivor Is going to be pulled? You won’t, so if you’re on a gen, you’re instantly screwed. Rancor tells where all survivors are. Infectious fright does reveal auras (test it).

Not even talking about ghostface as he kind of has different thing to his power but wraith is 100% useless while stealthing around....

AND FLIPPING EW1 MYERS CAN SOMEHOW HIDE FROM IT.
