The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

Hatch should be first come first served.

So.. pretty much title. The fact that a survivor can be halfway through the hole and have the hatch slammed closed is a bit silly. If killer gets there first, close it. If survivor gets there first, jump in. Killer usually finds it first anyway, so i don't understand why it needs to be so heavily tuned to the killer's favor.

Whoever interacts first wins, it's latency otherwise

I'd prefer that the killer get's priority. You already lost, that hatch is your second chance at that point. You're alone in the trial, you're not meant to have any power.

If they brought back hatch grabs then sure, survivor can have priority.

Killer already does get priority. I was spectating a match yesterday where the survivor was literally halfway into the hole when the legion sprinted over and slammed it shut. This is nonsense. You cannot blame latency for that.

Also your excuse "you've already lost" makes no sense. Once upon a time BHVR stated that their idea of a balanced game was 2 loss 2 escape. So 1 person getting away is not imbalanced. Which is why it's so confusing as to why killer has priority on it now.

Actually it's not, the killer can interrupt your hatch escape mid progress.
