A few suggestions to make Ghostface's gameplay more interactive

I think Ghostface is in a good place after the PTB changes, maybe he's even a little bit too strong, partially because of how little clearly defined counterplay he offers. I think in his current state he isnt very fun to go up against because it's kinda frustrating to lock your camera onto him and still just gain permanent stalk charge on you that wont go away until he downs you with it.

A few minor changes, any of which would help give him a more defined range of counterplay, any of which i'd be gratefull for would be:

  • Survivors who reveal Ghostface get their stalk-progress deleted as a reward. Considering Ghostface can literally gain additional stalk on you while you're revealing him, sometimes even enough for a FULL stalk with the correct addons, giving the survivors some form of removal on it seems necessary
  • Make Ghostfaces Power gage deplete while he's being revealed. Being able to duck in and out of particularly corn and just completely avoid detection from people who are 100% aware where you are and 100% TRYING to reveal you but simply unable to is kinda silly. Corn is the biggest offender here, but it's also a bit easy to punish-free just spam short corner-peaks to get stalks on people who want to reveal you but can't do anything about it
  • Make survivor emotes boost the reveal ratio drastically? Maybe Survivors should have a way of actively trying to reveal Ghostface when they are certain of his current position. Commiting to an entire emote gesture could be the way to do this.
  • Making the Stalk effect last way longer outside of chases and shorter in them. Currently it's possible for Ghostface to enter lengthy chases while sticking in stealth mode after stalking someone because revealing him even while you are sprinting away from him is kinda difficult. That's obviously silly

Damn, that's a lot of suggestions on how to weaken him. But maybe there are other ways to more clearly define his power as well?

  • Increase the rate at which survivors become stalked, but have the stalk ratio SLOWLY decline over time. It shouldnt be possible to stack up two to three fast-recovery stalk activations during a chase to get a simple one-hit down on someone who is aware of your presence at all times - that goes against the characters design and just makes you a better Meyers with no earlygame weakness
  • Increase the range at which he's able to stalk survivors, but tie his reveal range to the same range. Again, i'm just really opposed to him having his stalk in a punish-free way where there is literally nothing survivors can do against it because he used X addon, Killers need clearly defined windows of counterplay, we've been here twice before with Spirit and Release Legion

Why am i suggesting so many Nerfs and Tweaks, am i just a salty survivor? Quite the opposite. I'm actually a killer main who prefers to run Doctor and Hillbilly - however, Ghostfaces less-than-interactive gameplay has made killer queue times RIDICOLOUSLY long. Waiting 20 minutes for a match during a bloodpoint even with additional massive bloodpoint offerings because noone wants to play survivor is... pretty bad. Im literally in the green ranks and my last 3 queues have taken 13, 11 and 21 minutes to find a lobby and survivors. That's not good for the game health, and im 99% sure Ghostface is to blame. Heck, i tried survivor, queue times of under half a minute, and the aforementioned counterplay-free "gameplay experience" made me quickly wanting to go back to killer ^^

It's always been a problem. The difference is now they've created an abuse case where effectively a T3 Meyers with a 4 second chargetime is on the loose ^^ You tell me it's good for the game's health when im sitting in killer queues for literally more than half of my playtime because im not the only one not interested whatsoever in playing vs GF.

Not to mention he seems to have GLARING detection bugs. I played another match where he sat at a fire barrel on MacMillain - we literally exchanged views for over 20 seconds. I went behind a rock and had him dead pan in the middle of my screen on the other side of the rock for quite literally enough time to do a quarter of a generator (because that's what the semi-AFK dwight did behind me).

And i could not break him out of stealth. The only time it even BEGAN breaking him out of stealth was when i intentionally put myself in his line of sight - the very instance i did that, i was able to start breaking him out - and in return he was able to stalk me. Normally that doesnt sound too bad, does it? Well it was, because as previously mentioned, the stalk simply sticks. And because this guy ran stalking speed addons he could literally DUEL my reveal, marking me (and anyone else) while being BLATANTLY obvious before we even finished revealing him. You tell me that's good for the game and not a repeat of release legion all over again.

I just wanna be able to play Dead by Daylight without sitting in queues forever. I've currently been queued since 3:08 and it's 3:30, so ive sat in this queue for 22 minutes, at killer rank 11, and completed an entire control warrior Hearthstone match, on the live servers, during a double bloodpoint event with MASS amounts of extra 103% bloodpoint offerings available. Let me reiterate: does that sound like a healthy game state to you?

Take the liberty to check the SteamStats page for Dead by Daylight. On Ghostfaces release day, 36000 people played. Literally the day after, it's 22000, the lowest it's been in over two weeks. The numbers don't lie.

I wish i had that rock ridicolousness on video. I'll try to recreate it in KYF tomorrow just to make a point. In this current state, GhostFace is Release Legion, if Legion got to instadown people after going into Frenzy and hitting someone else to reveal them.

I'm actually really happy to see Survivors anguishing over a Killer instead of the Killers anguishing over another ######### release.

Having a strong killer is not affecting queue times.Every time there is an event that grants bonus bloodpoints, killer queue times go up. Killers get far more bloodpoints than survivors so many survivors switch to killer during this time. Nerfing Ghost Face will not fix this. Events in general have this problem, so expect it to continue. The problem lies in how hard it is to get bloodpoints as survivor.
