Penalty when a Killer is near the hook needs to be much higher
This still happen way too often when you ever want to play as a Survivor (Forced to atm since Killer queues are 30 minutes long) and you always gets camped when you play as Solo on higher rank
This will reduce the level of tunneling and camping
If the emblem system punish campers more killers will less likely to do it

Why not a rewording killer for leaving the hook instead of punishing them if they are close?
For example, you get more point base on who far you are from the hooked survivor.

Sounds good, more point when they go for a new survivor instead of old. I don't ever camp so its really annoying to see fellow killers doing the same, the penalty to emblem is very little atm and doesn't seem to do anything to discourage killers
Note this was on Rank 7 and Killers are still doing it. Circling around the hook for 1-2 minutes until the Survivor on the hook is dead. I have to be forced to play survivor now since the killer queues are insane atm
(30 minutes per game, then someone DC at loading and you wait another 30 min)
or you get a bugged lobby then another restart required/ infinite loading

Here's the honest truth.
A camper will camp, no matter what sort of punishment you inflict upon them. Camping is a mindset most of the time.

Then they will lower their rank, I mean as a Survivor on Rank 7 normally ppl would expect less camping, but people still do it and still on this Rank
Penalty as in Emblem points, so it won't affect killers who go for new survivors, but it will only affect campers

It will because campers like them really shouldn't belong to this Rank, they will get derank back to 10-12+ to where they belong. Less emblem points for camping means they will derank and lose pips

To the OP, while I share your dislike of camping the counter already exists. Your team doing the gens. If survivors didn't reward camping, it would be all but gone. While there will always be those who camp to ruin someone's game, the majority do it because it works.

They're gonna keep doing it because survivors will continue to feed them points even if you 'punish' the killer. Then again, those who hard camp don't care about pipping anyways. You'll see it anywhere as long as survivors don't adapt and punish them. That's why they will continue to rank up with camping.

I haven't gotten camped all week, what are you on about? All my survivor games have been pretty fair, I'm rank 5 survivor btw atm.

Yeah I understand since i am a killer main, but i play Survivors solo only, and Killers still camp on high rank, at least 7/10 of all Killers i faced on this rank Camps

purposely camping, i only play Solo so i don't get altruistic players often, most ppl just leave me on the hook to die, but most of the time killers still camp on high rank

If you really want camping and tunneling gone the game needs to be balanced better. We should also give better blood points to incentivize leaving the hook.
Punishing campers and tunnelers is the last thing we should be doing. A majority of them don't camp and tunnel because they want to, they do it because they don't have a choice.

You are lucky then, UK here so EU players, i don't camp like these killers do when i play Killers, so its disheartening to see people resort to such tactic. 3-4 Gens popped, and then the killer just camp on the hooked survivor, leaves when hes dead on hook

I also want to see something like 500+ points for hitting a new survivor instead of the old one, something like that could help with tunneling. Killer is unplayable right now, i suggest all killer main to try out survivors, solo its quite hard to rank up when there are idiot teammates/ people who keep farming hooks

I play survivor at rank 1 as well almost exclusively solo. It's quite easy to consistently pip. You may die from potato teammates, but it's easy to rank up.

lol you think killers give a ######### about a meaningless emblem? Rank does not matter in this game. Any sensible player understands that depipping as killer = good. Making the emblems more punishing for camping does absolutely nothing. A better idea is dont give the killer a reason to camp. Dont bum rush the hooks, dont 3 gen yourself, if he is proxying then pressure gens. Give the killer a reason to leave. If the killer is camping to troll well your suggestion is still pointless because they dont care about rank if it meant something or not.

This guy gets it. If you're playing killer and gens are popping left and right, sometimes that's the only way to slow the game down because obviously survivors are going to keep going. It doesn't even look like survivors get penalized for that since the broken killer emblem tries to force killers to play nice with survivors that have no reason to do the same. It forces groups with diametrically opposed objectives to somehow work as a team. Furthermore, there comes a time in the game where rank doesn't matter to a killer if they know they will already lose the game and not even fulfill their actual reason for existing, which is to kill and sacrifice. So what if they de-pip? You're not rewarded for rank anyway.

Perhaps a solution isn't to punish it, but rather encourage the opposite? Earn more BP when you don't stay at hook, like 20% more, per person on hook? People don't care about being punished, but they will care about rewards.

A built-in incentive is not the same thing as a perk you have to buy a DLC for, unlock the teachable, and then get it on every single killer you play.

When they released BBQ they said thsmelves that they was hoping it would give killers the icentive to stop camping. They've also got rid of facecamping, killers still camp. You currently lose points in your emblem if you camp dude. They did all this to stop camping and it hasn't stop. It was a built in incentive by the devs. they added BBQ to rewards killers who didn't camp. I'm not the devs, go tell them it's not a built in incentive, not me, thanks.

I assumed it was your opinion because you presented it as such. You didn't say "the devs consider BBQ to be an incentive not to camp" or "according to the devs, BBQ is an incentive not to camp". You presented it without any indication that you might not agree with it.

So you're telling me, you make a comment on someone's post that's asking for campers to be punish which they're and not know what the devs have tried to do to prevent camping? Then proceed to question my statement about BBQ? Then you proceed to straight up downvote my posts? Then assume that my comment on BBQ was an opinion when it was STATED in a DEV STREAM that the devs wanted to make a perk that rewards killers for not camping and eventually with the cannibal release, BBQ was that perk? The devs have also stated that camping was a VALID Strat and that they wouldn't punish camping then turn around and do it. I'm not sure where you been in this community yet camping has been a heated topic and dicussed by the devs and community IMMENSELY since the start.
Perhaps next time, instead of assuming the statement was my opinion and downvoting me, you should do your own research on the lovely history of camping in Dead by Daylight & how the devs how tackled the problems since you clearly didn't know that BBQ was once again, the perk made by the devs with the attempt to reduce camping and to reward killers who did not camp.

I've been playing this game since it launched. I know all about camping, including the devs failed attempts to fix it.
I assumed your statement was your opinion because you presented it as such. No more, no less. And you can try to deflect as much as you'd like, but if you'd been clear from the start about it not being your opinion, but the devs', we could've avoided this unpleasantness.

There isnt much else you can do tbh, we have plenty of perks on both sides that either discourage camping, require the killer to be a distance from the hook to activate or encourage hooking all 4 survivors in a game, borrowed time etc to try and play around a camper.
If you start inteoducing harsher penaltys it will only affect the killers that dont try and camp and tunnel as a sole playstyle, and just hurt those who sometimes in a game might need to be near a hook. Killers who camp already get hardly any points, get genrushed and derank. What else can you do that wouldnt break the game in terms of balance.

Do you really believe that points matters at that points?
The ultra competitive killers don't camp in the first place, because it is inefficient to rank up, unless the other 3 survivors dances around the hook like strippers around a pole.
So the casual happy camper will camp you no matter what.
If you have a camper just do gens and force him of the hook. otherwise be happy that he wasted all his time on one hook.
And if you are the one on the hook.
You misplayed on the first place and now just take one for the team and buy them some time.
But I am open for creative solutions.

It's not a problem for swf that can go on gen and handle the situation.
But its very frustrative when you're playing solo since a team can sometimes be good and sometimes terrible.
On the survivor side I think solo survivors should have a native Kindred or Borrowed time, this could help a little bit against campers.
Killer side maybed they'll have a malus for staying for too long in the hook radius they'd have their movement speed reduced for an amount of time proportional to the time they've spent camping with no other surv around.
