Mettle of Man nerf!!

Nothing has been confirmed for changing insta-heals yet. It might seem like a waste at first, but all things considered, if that first chase lasts a decent amount (at least 80 seconds), that's a quick three generators right away. If that guy goes down and a second guy saves with a styptic and MoM, all they'd have to do is stall for another 80 seconds or so and the remaining two survivors could get the last two generators. It's got a real potential to snowball out of control if it's too easy to use early on.

If this cha ge goes through I feel like the number of required hits should go down to 2 or maybe even 1.
3 -
I'm impressed. Such a great change. No more lingering around for the killer to hit you bull. With this, DS changes, and end game collapse you guys are on a roll.

I feel like a Mettle of Man change is unnecessary. I ran it for a few weeks as survivor, and quickly learned how situational it was. Sure, its effect is powerful, but it activated in only about half my games, less than my adrenaline would activate. As killer, I didn’t really mind it because seeing the survivor’s aura after activation has been a great boon, and has won me some games. If the devs want to rework brain-dead perks, then so be it, but I would also suggest they not allow Spirit Fury and Enduring to stack or rework NOED.
2 -
And how often did you see this happen with current MoM?
Actually, further, how often are matches actually < 3 minutes to finish gens?
0 -
You guys should also fix protection hits to actually register properly.
Survivors that run WGLF know that the mechanic is pretty bugged.
1 -
Good changes.
Not all perks need to be meta and fit on every single build yknow.
3 -
Please don't presume the presence of instaheals in the equation. Your team has already stated that instaheals were subject to change, and extrapolating from the other ultra rare survivor add ons (Odd Bulb and BNP), I highly doubt Syptic Agent or Syringe will be at all relevant in the future.

not everyone plays swf (n)

Were you one of those who said Pinky Finger or moris were good enough of a counter for MoM?

This is proof the devs listen to us. I've been saying since MOM came out that it should only count protection hits. Thanks for listening guys! @Peanits @Almo @not_Queen

Devs: We might change how MoM works
Survs:
Pretty ironic as well because i remember alot of theses people going all out " Just relax the changes aren't made yet" when we talked about the Legion PTB and the bad changes to his power.

Hey guys.
Survivors.
Old friend old pal.
I got something to tell you...
6 -
@PigNRun No.

I wouldn't really call the changes a really good change, more like underwhelming. Its necassary to change aperk with little counterplay yes, but the changes they said they are testing internally (assuming its final version) really looks lackluster, more or less meant for survivors whom are trying to be the distraction type, maybe the type that runs borrowed time and/or WGLF?
2 -
You say that like its a bad thing. No perk should be an uncounterable catch all "I goofed, good thing I have a get out of jail free card"
2 -
I never said it was a bad thing. Just looks really underwhelming to me, and seems to me be a perk to fit a really niche role that might not come up a lot.
3 -
"if that first chase lasts a decent amount (at least 80 seconds), that's a quick three generators right away."
When are we gonna address that?

1 -
Yeah ideally how long is the average chase?
2 -
If they make it require a protection hit then it should only take one protection hit to activate. Otherwise this perk is dead.
3 -
I guess now people can't claim that they're too greedy to change OP perks if they're willing to so quickly considering gutting MoM.
3 -
It's been like this for a long time.

@Eninya According to reddit, only the first survivor can get the WGLF stack from taking a hit, and only the first hit will count. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/bpdb9o/developer_update_may_2019/enrt35j/
Which explains why so many people feel that it's horribly inconsistent, and adds on another layer of why this proposed rendition of MoM will make it absolute #########. (Oh wait, this thread's consensus is that MoM will be amazeballs. My bad!)
Also, @Peanits, is this interaction intentional?
3 -
I thought it was broken so I said something then found the thread about it five minutes later.
Derp.
1 -
Cry me a river will ya?

@Peanits In this hypothetical situation, I would say that the player massively misplayed. Yes, it is possible to do that. But for what gain? You wasted your heal item and MoM perk, left yourself injured and for what? To save one survivor from being hooked. Hello, I could do that with a flashlight and not get hit! Now I'm injured and if I heal myself, I'll give away my location constantly for the killer until I'm downed. And odds are that the survivor that I went to such great lengths to save got downed 10 seconds later. So OP for survivors to do this...
2 -
Yeah it wouldn't be that bad to have it be 2 hits. Especially since instaheals need work anyways.
Actually with an instant heal you can do this anyways. Because if you time an instant heal correctly you can tank a hit from injured and go to full health. Thus right now you can do:
- Take a hit
- Take a hit AND instant heal (has to be at the same time)
- Take a hit
- Take a hit. MoM activates.
0 -
Also if that becomes meta then you can either
A: Drop the survivor to deal with it
or
B: Run Mad Grit

Typical Survivor main who never played a game of killer in his life. Old MoM was horrid in every way and never should of hit live. Just reading it out loud sounds like complete lunacy and the nerfs were very justified.

Pretty much this^^
