IMO We don't need more new content, just fix the stuff we have.
Ever since Legion the content BHVR puts out has been sub par too horrid. DS has been horrid since launch, and even now with the 5 second stun timer it's still pretty bad, Legion was bad and completely un counterable before the rework, especially with cold dirt, and now is just a joke of a killer with no pressure whatsoever, Plague is controlled completely by survivors, so her one claim too fame, her corrupt Vomit, is never used unless the survivors are bad and cleanse early. Ashe's old MoM should never have made it past the idea phase. The Multiple Killers exploit and Infinite mending exploit that were "fixed" are both back with a new exploit with Wake Up. And now Ghostface is being nerfed when he has been out for just under a week.
This seems more then just coincidence for me, this has been a steady stream of bad content that seems rushed and untested. I ask that BHVR stops making new content for a while and start weekly bug fixes. All companies do this, Blizzard the most note worthy. I say do this with only 2 chapters a year. There is more then enough content in the game right now that could keep any new person interested for years with perk and addon builds, different playstyles, and playing both Survivor and Killer. Buff killers for high ranks, All killers should be SOMEWHAT close too each other, clearly that isn't going too happen with Nurse, Billy, and Spirit's ability, but the average killers viable at high ranks. Make maps have long loops, but get rid of infinite's that not even bamboozle can counter, such as the ones on Badham, Coldwind, and Macmillans.

Agreed. As much as i love new content in the game, i feel as its just grown into quantity over quality at this point.
13 -
@BunnyTheHutt As long as they keep adding new perks for both sides, new cosmetics and such, I'm cool with that.

Yeah I agree. The roster is already pretty large as it is so it’d be nice if they could touch up the killers and improve/give them new abilities so they don’t feel so stale. And of course bug fixes.
1 -
i've been saying this for a while but what this game desperately needs is a huge QoL/bug fix update. take a look at everything that doesn't work like it should and address it as well as you can. with each patch comes bug fixes but those tend to be outnumbered by the number of new bugs. right now several perks and addons are bugged to the point of breaking the game, during an event. instead of just fixing bugs alongside new content releases, there should be a serious focus on fixing the sheer number of bugs that currently exist
14 -
I am more like done with ammout of bugs each patch brings. Seriously, I just found out that when I play Plague and use her power when is game about to end, your game will always crash. Nice. Also, Furtive Chase doesn't work how it should - it's still bad perk anyway, but they can't even test if their new stuff is working as it should. I was so suprised when I found out that they have their own testing team...haha, good joke. I don't even talk about new Wake Up and Blade add-ons for legion (again lol) or other stuff that are buggy as hell. I understand that you can't find every single bug, but the ammout (and also so many of them can be easy found out!) of them in game is just so huge!
Every single new patch, new bugs coming in. They will fix them, but next big patch here we go again with something new. I feel like "Bugs" are part of new contect as well.

How are they gonna earn money without new content, smart person?
0 -
They should dedicate a chapter to fixing bug and buffing perks and killers that need it, i would be pretty ok with that
1 -
Spirit isn't op
0 -
Agreed
This game needs a Operation Health like Rainbow Six: Siege did
1 -
Yes, let's stop for a moment and dedicate 3 months just on the health of the game

I'm quite honest, even if we hadn't all the issues I feel like bhvr is jumping the gun with new content. It's a bit to much. So I would welcome it of they stop with new content, fix killers, perks, bloodweb, maps and only create new maps and new cosmetics.
3 -
New sales through word of mouth e.g.? If someone talks to me about a game and it's buggy af, I'm very likely not to buy it. If it's a good game AND people think it's solid on a technical level, I'm definitely more likely (personally). It's not like you need to add more monetized dlc past the, uh idk 101,83€ on Steam alone, to extract more money.
3 -
I'm ok with cosmetics as it's the design team handling it. It's a separate team so they're not wasting time and it doesn't affect gameplay
But the last thing we need is new perks until everything is balanced and sort it out.
Don't get me wrong I love this game and appreciate how much work is being put into it. But I feel like everything needs just do good go over before we could start adding new stuff
Perks
There are still perk that are practically useless like left behind and monstrous shrine
Some perk have become beyond conditional and niche especially for the restrictions placed on them furtive Chase and dark devotion.
Add-on
Lots of Killers need a good add-on pass.
Legion has multiple addons that work with the old kit and are severely detrimental to the new one. One of which is terrible on both legion's old kit and with the new kit but it was at least passable on the old kit (fuming mixtape)
Amanda's add-ons besides combat straps medical file and video tape are severely underwhelming especially of the change to her endgame traps it practically made most of the Trap related ones useless. Common and uncommon add-ons should not be outperforming Ultra rares in Amanda's case they definitely do.
Some nurse's add-ons make it extremely frustrating to go against her especially if you're up against a good nurse it practically turns the match into a hatch game there and then.
There are still multiple Killers who don't fit the full add-on pattern
And that's only few killers examples that I previously talked about before.
Baseline kit
A lot of Killers need improvements or alterations to the baseline kit.
Plauge is too survivor controlled
Legion is too heavily restricted by their own power
Don't even get me started on Bubba at this stage he only really excels at camping.
Amanda's Crouch and ambush feels lackluster and her traps received a massive nerf to where they could apply the most pressure without any compensation.
If the design team wants to put out cosmetics I'm happy with this they're not the ones who are typically handling these types of problems however adding new perks when there's already so many issues is just going to add even more stuff to the list.

Half the perks right now don't work, or are bugged too give unfair advantages. Bamboozle i know doesn't work at all right now, It doesn't block vaults or makes you vault faster. Wake Up is busted Af and Infinite mending Legion is back, even when they said they fixed it. Plus every new content patch it breaks the game even more then the last.

IIT: people who totally know how the industry work
0 -
1: They have over 100 dollars worth of chapters and paragraphs, so they won't be short on money soon.
2: even if that didn't work they still get tons of money from cosmetics with Auric Cells.
3: I'm not saying end All content, I'm saying cut the chapters a year too two, so more focus can be on bug fixes and QoL changes instead of pushing content that's rushed and half assed.
1 -
If you want an operation health where all hands on deck are fixing visual, audio, balancing, and other things - I can get behind that.
3 -
I don't know how the industry works, all I know is that most games have weekly patches too fix bugs. BHVR has 6 week patches which usually add more bugs then fix.
3 -
Ok I'm not crazy. My game always ends or crashes the last few seconds of playing as Plague. I've even had people upload videos claiming I rage quit. You don't even have to be vomiting. The last time I was merely walking as one died and one escaped... Then crash!
2 -
I'm not sure whether or not this will lead to a rabbit hole, but why not stop the new characters development for a while and sell us new perks in the shrine?
Draft up some perk idea for both side and open up a session in shrine for these new perks and sell us with shards and auric cell. Meanwhile, QC team keep the bug fixes and balance going, the art team can touch up/put out new animation and cosmetic. This way they can keep the cash flowing in and fix bugs at the same time.
Not sure whether or not this is feasible though, I'm not an expert on this matter.

Something people seem to ignore a lot.
They're a business, and not a huge business at that. They need to keep ######### working, dedicated servers are coming, and they need to pay their employees.
Have you guys even seen the playerbase graphics when new content comes out? That ######### is crazy. They'll never break the "new content every 3 months" cycle because that's what boosts the player numbers. They'll never stop pumping out cosmetics either because it's one of their main sources of income.
I want many things with the game fixed, as much as any of you do. But the "stop with the new content and fix your game" suggestions are, and I'm sorry to put it that way, useless. They'll never do it. Never ever. I guarantee you guys. And that's smart from them, because it would harm the game, and most people here aren't in a position to understand that.
If you want the game to prosper and last, wanting new content to stop is counterproductive. Yes, there are plenty of things to fix. But if they don't put out new stuff, they won't have the resources to fix anything. As simple as that.
0 -
Wrong. Overwatch doesn't produce a new hero every 3 months and they are incredibly profitable. Also, I never said too stop all production on new content, only slow it down. They have over 100$ worth of DLC chapters and Paragraphs right now, and this isn't even including skins that need auric cells. But if they keep rushing out content that is horrid and doesn't even work right, the playerbase will die off. No one want's too play a buggy mess when it SHOULD be mostly complete for 3 years of being out. Plus, they can push out how every many cosmetics they want too since it's a different team that does it. So they really wouldn't be short on money.
0 -
If your logic was correct people would have stopped playing a long time ago. This game has never been not buggy.
DLCs are still a large part of their sales. Most players I know personally buy every single one of them, even if they don't buy skins.
Say whatever you want, suggesting something they'll NEVER do - proved by their plans for the next year, which already include one chapter every 3 months and a rework - is pointless and repetitive. Not gonna happen.
And stop comparing DBD to a huge game from a huge company which has a dramatically bigger playerbase, thank you.
1 -
They should change their ways if one of these things happen:
Competition: Some competitor finally makes a good a-sym game that can compete with the player base. Since they are currently a monopoly, they can do whatever they want without a viable competitor to worry about.
Consumers: So the burden falls onto us as the consumers. As long as they make more than lose off of us, they will not change their tactics. Consumers have the power to destroy a company if they stop giving it money. If they feel threatened by a potential loss, they will change course.
But good luck getting any of these things to happen.

"Never been buggy" when I know of 5 perks that are broken ATM. Both BBQ and WGLF don't go too 4 stacks, Wake Up affects all actions, Bamboozle just doesn't work, and Furtive Chase changes too any survivor who saves another, even if the one on the hook isn't the obsession. And I'm not dumb, I know they won't change their stance, but I can still voice my opinion on what I feel the game needs too help it succeed.
0 -
I said never been NOT buggy lol. Read my comment properly before replying nonsense.
Your stance is exactly what the game needs to not make money anymore, so it's bad.
0 -
This.
1 -
True, i misread, but my point is proven in the fact it has never NOT been buggy. If they spent a good 3-6 months pushing out bug fixes, then this game would be so much better, and it would bring more players in since people don't want too play a game that feels like it's in beta then released.
0 -
Agreed. I'm just waiting for someone too do the 4v1 game right so BHVR does get their crap together. I thought Last Year would of done it, but that game fell under the radar since it's Discord only xD
0 -
@BadMrFrosty Can you please stop following me and taking my ideas. xD
0 -
You clearly have no understanding of how the real world works with both money and businesses.
They have a system and a timeframe that works for them. No company would ever opt into making half the money they normally make for half a year.
The way the game is made probably assures that there will ALWAYS be bugs every time you change anything. The only way to change that is to make a DBD 2 from the ground up.
What keeps this game alive is the new content. As long as it's playable, they will not stop with the content, and rightfully so. If you exclude the 20 people raging on the forums no one will stop playing because of a few bugged perks, while being deprived of new content would surely push many players away.
0 -
Besides, dude, you just compared DBD with Overwatch. With a game that's declining like crazy and still probably has 10 times more players than DBD and is made by a huge company. That shows you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
That's why they as a business don't listen to their playerbase on business matters. They probably have an entire team to debate their timeframe, their finances and everything they need to do to keep running smoothly and they're not gonna change it because some players think, in their magical rainbow land, that 6 months without financial income would allow them to magically fix the game.
0 -
The forums are filled with people complaining about the state of the game. If they truly listen too the community about thing as they say they do, they would take steps too improve the game for QoL. Sometimes you'll make more money by fixing things for the long run over just rushing out patch jobs that will bite you in the ass eventually.
0 -
If they follow every command from people who have no clue on how to run a business, there will be no game to fix.
0 -
You are not getting it at all. It was an example, not a comparison. And THEY ARE NOT POOR. If you watched the anniversary livestream then you would see that they have tons of money too spend on extra things. And again, they still make tons of money off of new players buying the current DLC and cosmetics. They will not go poor in 6 months. It's unrealistic and naive too think so.
0 -
Agreed, but if a few 100 people are saying "this is bugged please fix" there is something that is wrong and should be looked at.
0 -
Unless you somehow start a revolution and there's a mass exodus, gantes is right.
Too many suckers are sticking around for them to worry about the minority that will actually leave if x thing happens.
1 -
It's unrealistic and naive to think ANY company would give up their main source of income for six months to spend a lot of resources on something that POTENTIALLY increase their costumer base marginally.
0 -
I agree with the OP.
Throne of lies just did something like this (taking a break from balancing and content to fix the back-end stuff and bugs) and it did the game wonders.
To be fair that's sort of what the mid-chapter updates are supposed to be. So it's good that they do that.
1 -
While I agree a big bug and QoL pass would be fantastic, I think it's a bit of a pipe dream.
Have to remember always that they are a company - a company that needs to maintain steady income and keep trying to find new ways to increase profits. Like they can't just miss out on their regular content release income, especially not ones as huge as chapter releases. There's way too much to be gained in them.
1 -
Well yea, I never disagreed that they will continue too spam out bad content. But I can still voice that they SHOULD fix the bugs in the game for a better future.
0 -
I agree
All I want to do is play normally. It sucks when I see survivors with issues, some of them was telling me that they are stucked in the scenario, some perks aren't working and also the gates has bugs
1 -
Year 3 bug fix only
1 -
The devs wouldn't make money from it so they could care less about it
0 -
In the long run they would make more profit, so they should care about it a lot.
