Why do I always get genrushed to ######### with GF at red ranks?

He's the only Killer with which I've actually ever DC'd and wanted to DC. I am running a full anti gen built but I get gen rushed litterly every game the only time that didn't happen since he's been released was today and that was because they've had an AFK and a rank 10 in their SWF group.


I allready think it's sad that the Devs have planned to nerf him, even if it is a super tiny nerf and Bug-fix, these changes will probably completly make him unviable in red ranks where he allready needs to fight for his dear life.


The Devs need to focus on actual problems that concern all ranks across the board and that is the still to fast game speed, because there are only a handful of Killers that actually can work with this incredibly fast pace. They shouldn't focus on rolling out a hotfix nerfing an allready mediocre Killer.

The sad truth is it doesn't matter how many times we tell the Devs the game goes to quickly they still won't listen. A problem concerning the Low-ranks will always be fixed in an instant, a problem concerning everybody get's pushed to the side. We've waited about 1,5 years for freddy to be reworked and we are still waiting for a new Objective or a new game mode which is extremely sad.

Devs if you need help with ideas or you need proper playtesting just ask your Fog whisperers they're there for a reason and I'm sure they'd gadly assist you but I'm definetly done for now with playing Ghostface till the next Rank reset because this is unbearable as much as I love him and his concept.

    He gets pallet looped and is limited to 115% me; so he’s automatically going to get gen rushed.

    The funny thing is you'd actually expect pallet loooping not to be such a problem and chases do feel short but they actually take forever on him even with a mark on them GF will still need to refresh it in some occasions and even if he doesn't his average chase time is around 40 to 45 seconds from rank 5-1 which I could notice from the Mark expiration and some perk like Pop and Thrilling tremors which is extremly sad

    The gimick of his power is sadly needed to make him pretty fun (on anything below rank 8) and fair but it's also the biggest problem ontop of that his presence does not feel threatening while his power is on it's 30 second cooldown which was a unasked for and not needed change and that he doesn't get something like a let's just say 5-10% speedboost while out of a chase and standing up while using night shroud, that would make him so much better he would be really unpredictable and it would make him scary as #########

    I mean he does have an accessable one hit down but he's especially struggling because of his extremely long cooldown on his power, his lack of a MS boost during his power while out of a chase, and an extremely buggy detection gimick and then there is that normal M1 Killer stuff like getting looped and stunned 24/7

    Because killers not named Nurse have 0 margin for error at red ranks when Ruin isn't there. Like none whatsoever. One mistake in a chase can result in a loss. It's insane.

    The only killers with the ability to force an end to pallet loops (in their base kit) way earlier than average are the Nurse, Hag, Clown, and Spirit. Trapper doesn't count because they can just run to another pallet and he can only carry 1 trap by base.

    The only killers with a good enough ability to mitigate getting pallet looped somewhat are Hillbilly and Huntress.

    Right now the top of my killer Tier List would look like:

    1. Nurse
    2. Spirit
    3. Hillbilly
    4. Hag
    5. Clown
    6. Huntress

    Everyone else is just going to get pallet looped without really good add-ons; and even the Huntress and Hillbilly are somewhat map dependent. I mean..... we are currently in a meta where the Plague's ability currently reads "All survivors are broken and can't hide from you inside of your terror radius." And she's considered bad because she can get pallet looped. Myers can insta-down people out of a 4 meter terror radius (basically stealth) yet would only end up as my #7 or #8. Because Myers can get pallet looped. Stealth and Insta-Downs just aren't good enough in the current meta-game. You need some way to stop them from pallet-looping you; or at higher ranks you are just going to get gen rushed.

    Even Spirit can still get genrushed without Ruin. The math is still against you depending on the size of the map. I've had games where I find a survivor, land a hit, immediately phase and hit, hook, rinse/repeat with no downtime, and still have all the gens get done.

    The problem its that gen rush its still a thing devs should focus the lower killers to buff them and make an 2nd objective, ghostface should give some buff but he will get nerfed and he will take place as freddy shame that devs dont even bother the community

    Because he's not strong like some people think

    He is a decent stealth killer, but lacks in all other aspects

    People just cried wolf before learning how to go against him, so he's already getting nerfed

    The devs care too much about low rank players that they never consider high ranks when making killers, at least that's what it seems from the latest releases

    @LCGaster I wonder how nerfed Ghost Face will do.

    If that hotfix hasn't been cancelled yet i haven't been paying much attention.

    They care about low rank players because they are low rank players.

    The community managers are the best players the devs have. Peanits/Queen specifically

    Over reliance on statistics and monitoring instead of reacting to feedback.

    And yes, they are pretty bad at DBD, at least most of them

    I should become a community manager or something, at least I can say I reached rank 1


    Edit: Exactly, they probably saw that buffed GF was having too many 4ks because people didn't know how to react to him, now people are learning and they're gonna make it even easier

    Cause it's red ranks, do you wonder why most people play Nurse, Spirit and maybe Billy?

    It's not the Killers which aren't viable, most of them are fine besides Trapper and maybe Freddy. It's the red ranks which aren't balanced at all. Ghostface does fine on every rank beside red ranks because the other ranks are at least balanced for Killers and Survivors.

    He suffers the same as plague, He has the potential to one shot which on paper seems dangerous but in actuality it takes valuable time to actually get someone into this position and even then they become an m1 killer that can be looped. The both also have no map pressure.

    Ghostface gets genrushed because people spend too much time inchase. What people don't realize is that Ghostface is a mindgame master, only bested by Spirit. His ability removes his Terror Radius and The Stain. What does this mean? A survivor cannot anticipate youcoming around a corner, and in a lot of cases must assume which way you will go. This mindgame in and of itself can even force survivors out into the open if used correctly.

    In chase, trigger Night Shroud. Even if they'll just look at you, that just means they're not looking at where they're going. They either remove your mindgames or risk running into a wall, or even you in some cases. However, do the exact opposite against someone with OoO, and mindgame normally. If you trigger it, then your terror radius is gone, and that means they have wallhacks on you. Do a quick swing if need be to disable NS.

    Never rush a gen either, sneak up on it, even if it means different angles, with the only exception is an emergency need of pressure on that one gen


    All in short, Ghostface has little gen pressure, but insane chase pressure if you're willing to utilize his power for mindgames, and not just stalking.

    I know that there is his big strength with mindgames the main problem is that it is extremly map dependent and it depends heavily on the playtime of the survivor if you get a fairly smart survivor he will know exactly what you might want to do or he will just break you out before you get close enough. I appreciate all survs tho that stand still to break me out while they're marked

    I think the reason why the gen rush is so bad right now is because Wake Up is bugged. I think we need to start reporting people using it.

    Actually no, because the "stealth" noises he makes while in Night Shroud are directional, so you can hear if he double backs or not. Even when not in a chase, the wind sounds are directional. It's pretty hard to mindgame as Ghostface

    Yeah I play him on high ranks too and many games I get genrushed and there isn't much you can do with it unless survivors make A LOT of mistakes or you get amazing 3 gen placement.

    And even when I manage to dominate and kill all 4 or at least 3, it still counts as loss or blackpip. Our great ranking system that doesn't reward actuall killing but rather farming potatoe survivors. Not that I mind, I'd rather derank to actually enjoy a few matches with GF against less tryhardy survivors but I still win more then I lose so I'm stuck here at red ranks.

    A lot of frustration comes from Survivors controlling whenever he can use his power or not. That coupled with his generic M1 115% killer stats makes him pretty underwhelming in a chase.

    He's not a killer who's valid in the higher ranks. He's simply not a good killer if the survivors want to win.

    It’s Bc everyone(survivor) is using spine chill now to counter him. Before that he was doing fairly decent. He’s not bad, but at red ranks with a team full of skilled players he’s certainly not going to fair well against a team full of spine chill and gen rushing pallet loopers.

    After playing at rank 1 as Freddy and doing just fine, I think ALL killers can be played at any rank. Stop looking at the game as a 1v1 where you take turns. The other 3 will then be free to work on gens. Don't be afraid to hit and swap targets often, as this'll keep survivors off gens and often times your new target won't know which pallets your old target already used. I got really good at juggling survivors by playing Freddy...
