Do you think Hex:Ruin is needed?

Personally I don’t use it on my spirit and don’t think top tier killers need it that much. I do think on lower tier killers it can be needed though.

@dragobv I would much prefer PGTW, Thana is also pretty decent, discordance and bloodwarden are also nice.

2Gens done from 5 befor you got 1st hook so yes ruin is need. But this is a throw a coin how long time you get from this perk.

    Just depends on the killer.

I don't think anyone 'needs' any perk, but against good players with weak killers I would say it's necessary yes.

I like to run it on legion, but it isn't necessary. I've had it go down and still end up with generators on the map left. I just use it to relax a bit at the start. When it goes down, I just up my game and tighten my patrols. I could switch it, but I'm lazy.

Full build: Ruin, BBQ, Thana, Sloppy

I would say Nurse and Billy can play reliably without it.

Huntress can as well to some degree.

Spirit and Hag could also potentially play without it.

The rest of the killer should have Ruin equipped tho.

I've actually been tearing up the Purple ranks the last couple nights with a 3 gen Trapper Daddy strategy using PGtW. It requires you to actively beat off Survivors from your side of the map and let the rest go. Once you have dominance of that side though(broken pallets, traps on windows), there isn't much they can do.

Probably won't work on a SWF squad, but it's doing ok so far.

Ruin doesn't always pop in 5 seconds, and why would you not use both? I run both on some killers incase it does get popped, but since you aren't guaranteed a hook at all if you get looped, then PGTW is wasted as well. Plus with things such as purple toolboxes and Prove Thyself, 25% doesn't change much.

Never use it, but there is a very noticeable difference without it once teams get more on point.

Call me crazy, but I've been using PGTW & OVERCHARGE on Billy! Gens rarely get done!

@KaoMinerva that combination actually sounds good.

I don't use ruin even on low tier killers because it is garbage I would much rather use perks that give me pressure

I think it depends on your killer and your skill for the most part, and if the survivors your against wanna just ######### around.

Personally i haven't been using it, I prefer corrupt intervention. Works out well for me, tend to run myc + thanta.

Really I think we just need more perks like ruin that can help slow the game down.

Only killers who NEED it are trapper and Clown.

Only killer who need's* it is trapper

every other killer can get away with using discordance or pop goes the weasel to prevent gen rushing.

discordance is a far more useful perk. stops people going through a single gen too fast and gives survivor locations, along with a gen to smack.

pop goes the weasel allows you to hugely play into 3 gen strats/ along with the ability to apply huge map pressure and with its recent buff, survivors can't really take you half way across the map so that you can't pop it (smart survivors would do this so swf could gen rush.) also its a genuinely powerful perk that denys progression.

huntress lullaby comes free and people undersell its ability to be useful. the mere fact that this perk has to gain tokens makes it a little bit harder, but people tend to ignore it if theres no ruin until its too late.

sloppy butcher is incredibly good at wasting survivors time, and paired with discordance can lead to a lot of one hit downs on gen rushers, along with slowing the game down for the people who want to heal. it makes bloodstains more prominent as well i believe so on maps like lerys and the game it becomes a godsend.

and finally corrupt intervention... while survivors can just hard hide to counter it instead of doing gens in the shorter patrol area, i still find it a godsend on most killers for slowing down the game in order to find an initial survivor. only problem is it only lasts for the start of the match allowing you early game pressure. its incredibly good on trapper, and just as good as ruin to start your match up. however neither are really needed on trapper. there just needed to ensure merciless victory, though you can still 4k.

Honestly my fav anti gen perk is deffinately discordance. on any charecter its just gold. on spirit and nurse its broken levels of viable, and on stealth killers like myers and ghostface it allows you to become super powerful early on
