DS won't work if you are near a hook
Didn't know if this was common knowledge or if it would be considered a recent bug, but I just discovered that if you are down right next to a hook and the killer immediately goes for the hook, once the hooking animation begins it will cancel out DS even if you hit the skill check. I think another poster who was writing about a lag switcher mentioned this happening to him and I just found out myself it is true.

Unlikely. The reason it doesn’t work is because the killer is currently in animation when ds triggers. You can’t interrupt the killers hook animation, and they are immune to stuns at the time.
it was the same with ds before the change too, but was a bit more common since the skillcheck didn’t happen during the pick up.

Yeah this always sucks when it happens because it kind of negates the whole point of ds. I feel like if the skillcheck prompt appeared just a little bit sooner that would fix the problem.

if you go down right nexg to the hook its your own fault. Play better instead of whining that your crutches dont save you

Points to killers that stand to the side of the unhookie and immediately slug and hook * I think they mean when people do this giving no chance to escape like in the alpha days of trapper placing traps right under you you got no way out

yeah just outskill the person literally hitting you off hook before you can go anywhere

Yeah, I started noticing that.
I would say if you were just unhooked, then perhaps the skill check should override the hooking animation.
But if 20-30 seconds or more have passed, then tough luck.
