Working with The Entity
I've recently got to thinking of the multiple ways The Entity users to get The Killers to work for her.
Torture.
We know this is the most consistent or at least most frequently used method of getting The Killers to comply.
Some of the killers tend to fall on this bubble for various different reasons but still tend to get the same effect.
Trapper: Evan MacMillan. Is currently the most notable example the entity's torturous persuasions. The devs have already stated that this was simply because Evan simply refuse to follow orders that he didn't want to do
Doctor: Herman Carter. Seems to be probably the second notable torture victim and the Devs have confirmed that it was the entity's doing and he didn't do it to himself. I've always assumed his reasoning for not complying was he care more about experiments and research than wasting time attacking survivors.
Nurse and Wraith: Sally Smithson and Phillip Ojomo. Despite not being very noticeable these two have also been confirmed to have been victims of torture.
I feel like this is more because they showed too much compassion rather the outright stubborn refusal that Herman and Evan most likely showed.
Incentives
So far we only know of two Killers who seem to have been given incentives for working with the entity.
Clown: Kenneth Chase the incentive given to him was simply not only was he allowed to bring Maurice with him but he also seems to be granted the ability to set up wherever he wants and can freely traverse the realms as he pleases.
Legion: Frank Morrison, Susie Joey and Julie. The Entity seems to be leveraging their group as their incentive for example you guys do good in your individual trials and you guys get to hang out with each other when you're free.
The fact that their group is the incentive is giving more credit when you consider The Entity has already long since taken Frank before Julie Susie and Joey.
As these three finished up burying the custodian and waited for Frank before they decided to search for him and were taken by this time Frank had long since gone.
Obligation
This seems to be reflected in The Killers that made a deal with The Entity.
No need to waste time with incentives or torture when someone's already contracted to work with you
Hag: Lisa Sherwood. Was on her dying breath when she made a pact of The Entity for revenge.
Meaning Lisa is working under obligation so torture or incentives is unnecessary.
Spirit: Rin Yamaoka. It's a little person who made a pact with her dying breath and is now working because of the obligation interestingly enough it's unknown whether the entity actually honoured her end of the deal like she did with Lisa.
Also considering Rin wasn't the initial target, it does really highlight the entity as an opportunist
Willing compliance
Honestly probably the easiest to explain these are all the killers who went along of The Entity no torture incentives or contracts needed they just agree to work
Shape, ghost face and nightmare or Michael Myers, Danny Johnson and Freddy Krueger. As I said above no individual explanations really needed they all just are Psychopaths who agreed to work with The Entity in the case of Danny and Freddy rather happily as for Myers just for the sake of Killing.
Fear
These are killers who haven't been tortured but entity has instilled fear with her presence to make them work.
Cannibal and Hillbilly or Bubba Sawyer Jr and Max Thompson Jr respectively like with the section above there's not much to really explain of this one not because it is straight forward mainly because the only evidence to it is the addons they possess
Others
Mislead these two are probably the hardest as I can't really find any section they fit into. They weren't tortured there's no real incentive for them to work and there wasn't an any contracts or pacts. Looking deeper into weird there's no implication of Fear or the fact that they immediately complied
Pig: Amanda Young. Her reasonings for with The Entity is the practical definition of Mental gymnastics. Considering she already has a lot of mental and emotional issues which is quite evident through the films Amanda somehow manages to double down on her nobody can change so they deserve to die mentality even though John outright condemned it and told her it wasn't the way.
Only for her to then earn gold in the mental gymnastics league when she's somehow theorized that this was John's intent for her all along and that The Entity is supposed to be her new guardian / mentor.
It's also baffles me as when she was initially brought to the entity's realm she clearly didn't want to be there and saw it as a form of punishment so I can't really give it willing compliance and is clearly lasted a long while before she managed to earn her gold medals.
( Don't get me wrong I still love Amanda from the films and I love her in game but oh god does it make my head hurt trying to think how she came to that conclusion the mental and emotional issues or not)
Huntress: Anna. I really don't know with her I honestly thought about placing her in the willing compliance section but we really don't get enough information on her.
Going off beast of prey you can make the argument that she just does her own thing and The Entity kinda just let's it happen but then it doesn't explain why she goes for the whole hooking process rather than just killing.
You could also making an argument for incentive as The Entity allows her to hunt to her heart's desire provided she just uses the hooks.
As I said these two tend to massively confuse me as you can make argument for them going into one side but bits of their lore conflicts with that.

You forgot the Plague.
I would also put the Clown into the the category "Willing compliance" because he went into the Entitys realm and just did what he did before killing and as a reward the Entity allowed him to bring Maurice into the Entitys world.
Regarding the Pig I think she also should be put into "Willing compliance". All the things she thinks in her lore are right after she got taken. So she understandably is unsure where she is and tries to theorize where she is and what happened to her as one moment before she was on the verge of dying inside a building and now she is healthy in a dark forest. She knows she isn't in the real world anymore and thinks all the things she did were correct and now continues her work but even more deadly as before.
In case of the Huntress I could imagine that the same happend to her as the Hillbilly, and Leatherface. All three have in common that they aren't educated/smart and because of this the Entity couldn't really make deals with them, she also doesn't look like she was tortured and willing compliance would say that she does it because she wants to, which i can't imagine to be the case.
Another point for the argument she kills because of fear is her humming. Her mother always did this when she was a kid to comfort the Huntress and then she started humming in the realm of the Entity to make her forget her fear.
Furthermore if she would have hummed in the real world while hunting, her prey would have known where she is and then run away.

I love the amount of work put into this. There are never enough of these lore posts, really good job! 👍️

It all just goes to show how Malevolent she (The Entity) is.
She needs nutrition and food, and will not hesitate to go great lengths to get it.
