Why does playing well as killer
Get you punished? Specifically on Billy, since that was the match I just played.
I chainsawed all the survivors and got a bronze chaser, never lost a survivor, and the chases did not go on long at all, why doesn't chainsaw get double the points since you are essentially hitting them twice. This is the only category I suffer in the most because the power isn't viable for this emblem?

Because behavior really took into account every playstyle possible for each killer :)
Honestly thats why i dont play as much billy anymore its boring basically dominating only to get a middle finger from the emblems.

because unfortunately they haven't yet figured out how to integrate enough nuance into the emblem system for it to account for the different playstyles of different killers
specifically, killers that don't down with M1s (sans huntress) suffer in the chaser emblem and are punished for using their powers effectively and ending chases quickly. trapper also suffers in this way if he places traps well and survivors step in them. i've noticed bubbas who use their chainsaws often suffer the same way
the gatekeeper emblem also needs re-evaluating. good survivors will get generators done and unless people screw up horribly you'll probably end up wrapping the game up once the gates are powered. the game shouldn't punish you so harshly for this and should instead take into account how the game was paced (how many hooks did you get throughout the game and how much did you slow down gen progress overall despite them all being finished) but again, nuance

You aren't supposed to dominate the Survivors, you are supposed to entertain them with a long match.

Exactly. The emblem system for killers punishes you for doing your primary job and being efficient at it. Like survivors are going to stand still and share campfire stories with you so you can get your emblems up if you care about rank.

The emblems don’t reflect how people play.

because the emblem system doesn't note you on your skill as a killer but on your skill at entertaining the survivor

This in a nutshell.
The current emblem system is gauges your "skill" by how well you can extend the game rather than playing efficiently.
Gatekeeper is heavily weighed for the first 9 mins of the game. You will get most of your points in this emblem if you hold all the gens for at least 9-10 mins.
Devout emblem is influenced by the amount of hooks you get and weights sacrifices higher in points. If you use mori kills through offerings or Devour Hope you instantly cripple this emblem to staying at silver. 9-10 hooks is what you need for gold.
Malicious is about get hits. A lot of them. If you are instadowning too much you're crippling your score and if survivors don't save each other from hooks and heal you're going to have a harder time. 15-20 hits ensures a gold.
Chaser wants you to play with survivors. You get more points for short chases, but it wants you to have multiple short chases that you win. I'm not exactly sure what ensures a gold in this category, but instadowns hurt it, trapper and plague have trouble scoring in it. As their powers don't get counted in that category even though they should.

They should go back to the original point based pip system.
The emblems try to enforce a certain playstyle, that feels like a rodeo clown show.

I don't even care about the emblems and rank. I just want to have a little fun and get some BP. Anything beyond that is just taking this type of game too seriously. My personal perspective is that if I want to worry about climbing a rank ever again, I'll just fire-up Overwatch competitive mode again. Or the symmetrical game of your choice.

They should really just add a %increase of "emblem points" if the trial ends under certain time limits. 10 mins, 5 mins, etc. Faster it's done, the higher the bonus to compensate your efficiency for lack of actual points.

Saw a video earlier of a guy winning as Myers on coldwind farm in 2 minutes, but since every survivor died on first hook, hes OBVIOUSLY trash at killer

If i understood it right, and i´m quite sure i did, the Chaser emblem works that way:
U find a survivor, chase starts. U need to hit him as soon as possible, and the emblem system counts the seconds from the start to the hit. Than, it starts again, when u continue the chase, same way as mentioned before.
Now, the big deal with Billy is, if u chainsaw someone, u dont have the second part off the chase, cause the survivor is already down. So, u "loose" the second part of the chase, counting for the emblem.
Apparently a big problem for every insta-doown killer

I believe the theory is that if you kill everyone quickly then BHVR think you were versing easy survivors and don't deserve a pip.
I don't agree with this system because if I play survivor, I don't want to be playing really good Hillbillys that are struggling to get to the rank they deserve to be at.
