This game is seriously poorly optimized
I honestly never really realized how bad the optimization has gotten, but FPS drops are absolutely crazy this time around. I have to have this game run for about 30 minutes just so all maps could render and not cause me insane drops whenever I move even a few meters into the game. It becomes basically unplayable until you've played the game for at least an hour. :/

What is your specs though ? You can't blame the game if you buy it ignoring the required system specs. It is like someone saying they will shoot if you run and you run anyway and complain lol.
Low settings is

one thing i've noticed that is specific to this patch is there seems to be a memory leak; the longer the game is open the more it freezes when transitioning between menus, though this has little in-game consequences

I know it's been doing it since 3.0.1 and maybe even the patch before that but I can't remember for sure.

Comparing different games for how much fps it gets is very stupid tbh it depends on the game engine and the textures game uses like monster hunter world literally same game but has different texture packs and makes drastic change to your fps and that game has literally very crap textures lol. The game you showed has Team fortress 2 like textures very easy to render for graphic cards. I get like 200 fps on tf2
Probably I can't say non biased answer because I have a gtx 1060 3gb and I get over 60 fps on ultra everything. Only this freddy map the school has low fps in the basement of the school for some reason, it goes to 47fps
I think you would agree that you can't expect to play on high settings with minimum required specs and complain you know. It says "MINIMUM" lol.

right, i understand you. i've definitely noticed the memory leak myself, and i even noticed that dbd tends to suck up more and more of my cpu as time goes on. its gotten so bad to the point that it 99'd both my ram and cpu after playing for about 4 hours. i was forced to restart the game.

regardless of my specs, the issue at hand is that this has been an ongoing thing after the recent update. i don't exactly have the best specs, but they're decent enough to run the game at a medium setting without tinkering with .ini files.

triple post, but to add onto my statement; it seems like more players are experiencing this issue as well, as well as commonly experiencing more crashes and infinite uploads again. dbd also seems to go unresponsive quite easily. something is going on here.

I mean I have been playing this game since 2017 winter and I haven't had any issues with fps or freezing. Still I have no issues literally 0 but it might be because I have a high end budget GPU so I don't know. But if there was a serious problem I think half the forum would be filled with similar posts I think you just saw like 5-10 posts and it is giving you there is an issue. I might be wrong so I will leave it here lol. Internet gives you the delusion of everybody think the same way you do very easily that is all I am saying. Infinite loading was a thing for a while it is all luck too. Sometimes I get 100 games with 2 infinite sometimes 10 games with 5 infinite loading. 50/50.

you don't needs to have expensive parts to run this game 100+ frames
haswell series now super cheap and enough for most games and this one too
card of mine is 1070 and still no problem
its kinda fair cause dbd had few of big graphic update from released
