The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

Are there currently too many killers in the game?
Not that this will ever change as we get about 3-4 new killers a year but do you prefer more killers or do you prefer the simpler times when there were less than 5 killers. This is something I always wonder about and it'd be nice to know everyone's thoughts!

Variety is the spice of life!
Only thing is I wish some of that variety was a bit more viable, bit spicier per say

I like the fact that we get 3-4 killers a year more powers for how different people want to play I am still looking for a killer I actually enjoy spirit and nurse are fun but it's meh. What I don't like is the fact that to new players most these new killers that come out will be locked behind a pay wall for them which doesn't look good when you just get a game and drives them away. They'll think "Why did I buy this game if more than half the killer roster I either have to play without to earn play time for them or pay up for all of them?"

I think for a new player it could be very confusing. When I started it was very easy to understand the trapsy one, the invisible one etc. and what they all did. Not so straight forward now.

Never enough killers imo. 20-25 would be a nice line up imo. Like a fighting game roster

The problem for me isn't that there are too many killers but rather that there are too many Killers that aren't terribly viable against good Survivors.

I like having the variety. If it were just a small group of killers, once survivors figured out how to counter them, it would make for a very boring game. Having said that, I haven't bought them all (or all the survivors) as I want to level up the ones I have already. I tend to play as one particular survivor (unless I've a ritual or some good items when leveling them up) but will use various killers as I don't have a firm favourite.

Variety is good. Not sure why the devs insist on not bringing any to the red ranks.

I like having more options. I started playing about a month after Doctor's release, and none of the killers really interested me at that time, even with a roster of 7 different killers. When Huntress released, I suddenly found myself interested in playing killer, and I had a blast! More options means it's more likely for someone to find a killer that fits their play style.
Luckily I started early enough that the paywall to get all of them wasn't too big an issue, but I definitely understand that complaint (it's a lot, looking back on it) - then I look at other games that release characters more frequently with higher costs (MOBAs especially!) and don't think it's that bad. As far as viability goes - the top tier killers are largely not behind pay walls. Nurse and Hillbilly are free, and you can unlock some of the other better ones with playtime if you can't spend the money.

The problem is not too many killers, the problem is that most killers aren't viable in the higher ranks and are therefore played less than others.

As a player that hasn't sunk hundreds of hours into DBD yet, the issue with the release schedule is the Perk grind. It is completely asinine at this stage. It's the absolute primary reason my wife, other family, and friends, won't touch DBD after trying the free weekends. There are far too many Perks to grind, never mind the grind being RNG on top of it, for them to bother with the game. Especially when the rank brackets mean next to nothing, so you'll be going up against Vet players with full builds before you even get a decent 2-Perk build, never mind a full build.
As far as the number of characters, it's what generates their revenue. But just like in Overwatch, there is a decent roster but I only play 3 or 4 of the characters. The others just don't appeal to my play style.
(Disclaimer: I play more than 3-4 in Overwatch, I play about that many from each category, but it also has more characters as well.)

More killers means more variety and different ways a game can play out. With a Game like DBD where the main objectives and overall gameplay have stayed the same for years more killers are a must.
It's a shame most the killers aren't viable at red ranks though, The game really needs some more variety up there.

Man this community complains about everything

I'm glad there's more options.
For example, imagine finding the first 4 Killers to be mediocre to you in terms of fun, but then the Shape comes out and you love it.

Yeah, dbd is currently going full quantity over quality.

Cant blame them survivor gameplay is just boring and frustrating. Killer is where the fun is at
2 -
You can never have enough killers

There are enough for us to skip an entire chapter and dedicate it to fixing the game.

Total # is good, but variety in ranks are to low

It's not so much that there are too many killers, but going through 3 tiers for every perk until you get the perk you want can be a bit ridiculous sometimes.
