Stealth tactics against the doctor?

Whenever I play as survivor, I prefer to play stealthy. The less focused the killer is on me, the better. It's worked really well for me so far, but it's not as easy against the doctor. I was curious if there were any good tips for evading the doctor or staying out of his way entirely if at all possible. :)

A lot of people say lockers and I heavily disagree with that. The best advice I can give is to simply avoid the terror radius. At the beginning of the match run towards the doctor as he chases his first catch and get into madness one. It takes much longer to get from 1 to 2 than 0 to 1. If you're feeling really ballsy go to madness two, you'll get some illusions but it takes forever to get into madness 3 and scream again. After you get to madness one or two go back to playing stealth how you normally would or leave the TR when you hear it. If he has distressing just stealth normally.

Keep your distance, you can jump in a locker for a few seconds to drop your madness meter to stave off the scream. If you run SS and OoO you can tell right away by the outline of the killer who it is, and just stay out of his terror radius constantly.
If he catches you, every doctor ever is going to shock you into oblivion, when they start doing this, run towards, or behind them, the treatment attack is almost always straight ahead unless they have addons changing it. Then just buy time for your teammates if you're caught and gen rush if not. In my experience, most doctors heavily shock the area around the hook and camp/patrol, so make them pay for it. Do your best and realize it's ok to die once in a while because we're all pawns in the entities game.

Stay away from his terror radius period as a long as possible. When you see him shocking people just run away. Before he can get close run away. Just keep running away. Do gens in a circle if you have to. Eventually they’ll get done? Maybe , hopefully.

Stay out of his terror radius instead of ignoring it until he's right on you.

Wait for him to chase someone, and get in his TR to scream to get to madness 1.
Then just play regularly and genrush.

As someone who plays a ton of Killer (Doctor being top 3) here are some pointers I try to do to find survivors and ways to counter them.

1: As soon as I get someone to scream in tier 1 I get out of "treatment" mode. I do this so I can pop level one on the next survivor I want to find easily. Not every Doctor will do this method as there are advantages to getting people into tier 2/3.

To combat this (unless you are the one caught first and being chased) try to follow the killer to pop your tier 1 while the killer is distracted. Since tier 1 has no meter you can see, and is very fast to pop its a good idea to get into tier 1 to save yourself the hassle of being caught/screaming too fast.

2: I will often send my shock therapy around obstacles I know survivors like to loop/hide around frequently, to see if I can catch someone I didn't actually see.

To combat this try to hide in obscure places that you may not think "ideal". Since Doctor can shock through objects most of the time they will check around hooks/pallets with their power to try and sniff out a survivor who might be hiding.

3: We love to roam in treatment mode to raise your madness and make you scream.

To combat this simply keep an eye out for electric shocks under your feet. This means you are within his terror radius and are slowly building up madness tier. You can spend a surprising amount of time in tier 1 before getting tier 2 and even longer in tier 2 before hitting 3. Do your best to get out of his radius or skirt the edge as it will decrease the buildup significantly. In the event you cannot get out of his radius fast enough a locker might save you from screaming as you gain no madness when in one. Keep in mind being in a locker brings about its own dangers.

Madness does not decrease when in a locker or withing the doctors terror radius when in treatment mode. Crouching also help madness go down faster.

Playing stealth against a Doctor is far more difficult because his power is meant to counter such a playstyle. Until you really get a feel for the map you are on and how that particular Doctor plays you may find that stealth isn't the best option and knowing where the nearest window/pallet is might save your life.

I hope this helps somewhat as I know Doctor can seem frustrating to some survivors. Just remember his power doesn't really help him in a chase unless you spend too much time looping one window/pallet as his shock can interrupt your vault.

You can avoid madness by crouching, you dont get mad in lockers.

Always try to get into madness 1 as fast as possible, it would be perfect if you manage that while doc is chasing someone else and zaps at a pallet

    Just use Calm spirit 3.

Very useful tool against the doctor now! I'm super happy about that. At the time this post was made before the mid-chapter patch so that wasn't always an option.

One problem playing stealthy is the map rotation ahs been stupid since I get the farms maps a lot and Doctor just destroys on there. This is really difficult when they run the extended terror radius which makes his treatment mode range insane. Get him on Gideons and he can nuke you both above floor and below floors.

But the Calm Spirit rework is really nice, tested it out on kyf and even tier III you don't actually scream out. The animation goes off but not the actual scream.
