So another Survivor perk is bugged
Apparently another survivor perk is bugged and it is abused to holy hell as always.
Funny that every time any perk is bugged it finds it's way into meta but clearly everyone picked it accidently so no one get's banned...
Unless it's a killer ofc.

Which perk and how is it bugged?
0 -
Funny that anytime there is a bugged perk, people come and inform everyone on the forums instead of reporting it.
and if it's in PTB, definitely report it so it doesn't go to the live game?

After the legion double blades incident it has become pretty clear they'd rather just try to prevent the spread of such bugs and then patch them when they can as opposed to banning. Just like they learned from the Freddy release fiasco they learned that banning isn't what they want to do (like how they didn't ban for stuff like wake up, PWYF, legion blades bug #2, thana bug and so on)

Sprint burst? Because NOBODY used it before the patch right?
6 -
It's funny right.
Killers: "WHY ARE YOU BANNING KILLERS FOR THINGS YOU BROKE"
Also Killers: "WHY AREN'T YOU BANNING SURVIVORS FOR THINGS YOU BROKE?"

I'd rather have them be consistent about it and ban everyone for exploiting bugs.
OF COURSE they aren't intentional and devs can see that barely ever used perk suddenly is used in every game.

Actually it wasn't used before this patch if only anyone had anything else.
I'm not counting low ranks and new players because they don't know any better but purple and red ranks usually run meta perks and now instead of balanced landing and dead hard we have perk that prevents them from running ....

Killers abuse bugs too, yet I didn't see a dozen threads a day calling to ban all the killers that went out of their way to load up into matches together to slaughter 3 survivors.
Bugs happen, report it & move on, especially if it's in PTB. If it's in PTB it should be a non-issue if you report it.

I'm pretty sure people were actually banned for exploiting double blades.
I don't know about thana bug but I remember clown bug with his finger licking fog of insta down.
1 -
It's not ptb and people actually get banned for it (supposedly) if it's killer exploiting.

Imagine victimizing yourself this much. How do you get through each day knowing the devs are secretly conspiring to ruin killer mains' lives?
7 -
Yeah, they were banned after the devs put out an announcement. What I mean is that after that incident it seems like the devs realized that's not how they want to deal with bugged perks and the like. They would rather try to at least stop people from posting literal guides on how to do it here on the forums, and patch it in their next patch as OPPOSED to banning for it.
I just mean that it's not some sort of bias (while Wake Up! was bugged there were MORE killer-side things that were bugged, and none were bannable), but a change in their approach to dealing with exploitable bugs.

I'm just looking at history of bugs and exploits in this game and so far people getting banned for killer related things are only complains I have seen whine none for survivor ones.
Also, QA is a heresy and whoever says that word in behaviour office gets burned at the stake.

What?
What does post has to do with anything?
0 -
If complaining was a sport we could fill out an Olympics committee with only forum users
6 -
If you mean Sprint Burst, that #########'s been going on way before this PTB.
1 -
The old Asylum out-of-bounds exploit as well as the dropdown exploits that allowed survivors to trap killers as long as they wanted both led to bans I'm pretty sure.
Not that it would make much sense to complain about people getting banned for any of those, as they both were extreme cases of taking the game hostage. Pretty obviously something that should be punished.
1 -
Didn't they revert those bans?
0 -
I thought that was just one incident, did they revert all of them? They certainly posted a ban warning (on Twitter of all places, not sure where else) similar to what they did for the Legion blades exploit in-game.
And did people banned for the Legion blades get anything beyond a "standard" ban as dictated by the system with escalating ban length for repeat offenses or what?
2 -
They banned alot of people for abusing that bug though
0 -
I'm fairly certain Asylum exploiters were excused later on.
That's all i know though.
1 -
Did they? Do we know how many?
0 -
It did lead to bans but they were unbanned/excused later and not because of the stardard ban expiring.
0 -
Because that was amazing.
I played survivor mostly at the time because killer without damn airhorn is actually spooky.
0 -
So you get to decide which exploits are fun and acceptable?
0 -
I dictate which exploits are fun and acceptable for myself yes.
At the same time I have no power whatsoever to the rules enforcing in dead by daylight but I can talk on forums on stuff I don't like.
It isn't black and white. Exploit that makes survivors finish gens 15% faster is big, just as was infinite mending legion.
How are they different enough that one makes it worth a ban while other doesn't?

Just got some toxic SWF with sprint burst. That makes me pissed off. Maybe, i could just ignore it, but ffs, im trying to do adept leatherface.

Actually the devs quickly made a public post stating they would autoban killers who did that and you didnt even need to report them for it.
