Unpopular yet but the feature I want THE MOST

I find this website useful for build construction. http://www.dbdbuilder.net/
I doubt we will get more "generic" perk slots. (But I'm holding out hope for special situational perks that can affect the environment in some way. (might be combined with an offering.)

The devs try to balance around 4 perk slots. An additional perk slot would lead to sooo many necessary changes...
5 -
hi again Shiny girl :) the point is... it is not the same having 4 slots and 15 perks (when DBD was born) than 4 slots and 51 (x3+)
If we talked about balance, the logic would be having 12+ slots today
is that much hard to understand? :=D
0 -
Sure, let's make the game even more unbalanced.
4 -
it is not unbalanced if both sides have more slots, just give us 5 slots to start
1 -
For both Survivors and Killers...
Prestige 1: get a 2nd Offering slot
Prestige 2: Get a 3rd Add-on slot
Prestige 3: Get a 5th Perk slot
Time to break the game!
11 -
Adding more perk slots would be like opening the Pandora Box: broken combos, unexpected interactions, bugs and so on and so forth
5 -
you guys are waaaay to negative, nothing is gonna happen for having 5 slotz
2 -
just this to reward the loyal vet players
- Prestige 3: Get a 5th Perk slot

@hahugow A 5th perk slot would open the door to more powerful perk combinations. I'm not sure if the killer or the survivor side would benefit more from that, but it probably won't be a balanced outcome.

oh no i dont want no noed, ruin, moris, devour hope ,nurses and bbq

Limiting perk slots is by design. It forces you to pick something you want to specialize rather than letting you be a jack of all trades. While there are more perks in the game, you are not meant to equip a whole bunch at once, you're meant to make sacrifices and swap out one for another.
5 -
It is. 4 vs. 16 becomes 5 vs. 20.

Yea go for easy mode all the time. What are you used to, monstrous shrine? Unrelenting?
1 -
No thanks i dont wanna deal with more noeds ruins spirit fury enduring and other broken perks
1 -
Yes, so for every one slot the Killer gets, Survivors get four. So the ratio shows that such a change benefits the Survivor side four times as much as the Killer side.
1 -
The ability to toggle between OG Freddy and this new Freddy,.;

No survivors have always had 4x as many perks. The change doesn't benefit the survivors more than the original ratio. (Besides perks being stronger/weaker is a different debate) If the ratio doesn't change its effects as far as the math goes doesn't change it is still a 1/4 ratio.
1 -
I don't think you understand how ratios function in this scenario.

If the devs ever was to insert a 5th perk slot. Then I would say that these should be built in perks for every character. Which will make them more unique. These perks should be the under rated perks or at least not the meta perks
Meg - Quick and Quiet
Claudette - Botany Knowledge
Nurse - Stridor
... etc. Some perks numbers may need to be tweaked if we was to go this route.

@Peanits Yes, I agree with the idea of limiting the available perk slots, but proportions should follow the perk pool increase: the game was born with 3 killers and 4 survivors, now they are 16 and 17, respectively. There is no hope to fully specialise in a specific playstyle with 4 perks only: for example, a stealthy non-META build may include Spine Chill, Premonition, Iron Will, Urban Evasion, Lightweight, Calm Spirit, Distortion, Sole Survivor, Quick & Quiet, Dance With Me, Posed... Couldn't we have six perks each, as I asked for in https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/28160/six-perks-system with the balance changes there explained? :)

No, I don't think you understand how ratios work. It is currently a 1:4 ratio. Meaning survivors have 4x as many perks as the killer. a 5:20 which breaks down to 1:4 which means the survivors still has 4x as many perks as killer. As I stated earlier without considering who's perks are better. The survivors are still 4x the perks as killer nothing changes. Although, I would agree a 5th survivor perk would make more survivors god tier rather than making god tier killers. I am simply saying math 1:4 = 1:4 it doesn't change.
Similar if we only had the following perks:
1:4
2:8
3:12
4:16
5:20
They all break down to 1:4 they are the same ratio. Similar to fractions 1/2 cup is 2/4 cup equivalent.
2 -
"(Besides perks being stronger/weaker is a different debate)" I was simply saying the ratio of killer to survivor perks would still be equivalent the balance as far as math goes is the same. Only change is as you stated survivor perks are more game changers than killer perks. Which was also not my debate.

Would it be crazy having an option of unlocking a 5th perk slot? But it would be like a really big cost, like a million BPs, or prestige 3 plus 1M BP's.
I just thought of this a sec ago.

Like me I run iron self care hope and technician which I change out if I'm in a group to hope so I can juke the killer about endgame buying them time

I don't think you understand your own point.
The game started by being balanced around survivors being able to bring 4 perks into the match.
The amount of perks available to bring in had nothing to do with the actual gameplay mechanics of how many perks were brought into a match.
15 or 51 total perks able to be used, the balance is still the same when you can still only bring 4. If you can't think of different builds after so long, that's not the Dev's fault. It's yours for being unable to make new builds with so many various perks.

What about a dedicated hex slot a slot for hexs only they break easy so they wont affect the game that bad
0 -
So, the exact same mathematical difference of 1:4 weight of one side to the other. Where one killer perk is as powerful as 4 survivors.
0 -
If a 4-person SWF pick different information perks, they aren't bound by this design.
Killers need 16 perk slots to be even close to equal.
0 -
I am not disagreeing that Survivors would still have 4x as many perks. What I am saying is that the impact of giving each player a perk is not equal on both sides because you are not adding the same number of perks on both sides (not that I am advocating that such a thing should happen).

I simply think you don't know the purpose of ratios. If you added 4 perk slots to killer and one to each survivor you would have.
8/20 which would break down to a 2:5 ratio which if you compared it to a 1:4 ratio for every extra perk a survivor has the killer has double from the previous ratio rendering killers op. When you balance around a ratio you keep it consistent in terms of balance between the two. You are looking at the power of perks between killer and survivor which you are right in this 4v1 the perks of the 4 out perform the perks of the 1.
0 -
All of this is correct. The thing that you are missing is that adding one slot to each player would still throw off the balance because of the number of perks each side is effectively gaining, even if the ratio is still the same.

But is a hex slot really that bad since they get found pretty easily and destroyed quick the risk outways the reward really
0 -
excellent, but do you understand that:
- having 20 perks and 4 slots is not the same has having 51 perks and 4 slots
- What will happen in 5 years with 200 persk, we will still have to pick 4?
This is a bad game design, with no future planning of equivalent proportions "number of perks/slots"
0 -
Do you understand that:
- it is not the same picking 4among 20 perks that among 200 (in 5+years)?
Im sorry, but am I the only who sees no "number of perks/slots" equivalency ??
