Camping?
So I just started playing this game on pc....it is horrible on here. I main killer and trying to level up. EVERY match I am in the players are levels way above my own. I was just in a lobby with three 12's and and 8? I am level 19. I have never been a camper, but these kind of placements make to where the only way I can level up is to be a scumbag? Am I missing something? Any tips yall could give me? What should I focus on for bloodpoints without being a camper? I am starting with leatherface for the bbqc.

You get more points if you leave the hook and go for someone else.
People will still call you a camper, no matter what.
Tomorrow is the Rank reset. Prepare for some terrible matches against high rank survivors.
Avoid survivors that spam their flashlight into your direction. They usually know what they do and will keep you busy for the rest of the match.

I was just in a match with a level 4 survivor...rank reset my ass. The rest of them were 16s so I guess that is something. The level 4 got the hatch. I ddn't camp. I just locked off the gens correctly and the chips fell.

Tips:
Level him up and get better perks, don't camp, destroy pallets, they give you good amount of BP, learn which perks you need to own people, basic owning perks are BBQ, Nurses calling and NOED, if you can add Freddy's Blood Warden they ar f$%&/$

Sweet! Thanks for the tips! It is making me be more aware of map control on PC and making sure I don't let them get generators all over the map.

Keep in mind that if you see/hear a survivor close to a hooked survivor, you don't need to leave. You will still be called camper nonetheless however it will be the best play.
Also, you can play whatever the way you want if you have fun. If getting 4k's gives you fun, try to get 4k's despite depips and the post-game chat meltdown it may cause. If playing for bloodpoints give you fun, go for it despite depiping and losing some matches. And so on. Just try not to be an a**hole, that being you facecamp someone or intentionaly letting them bleed out on the ground. Everything else, if you have fun, is game.

Sounds like you have been getting screwed by the matchmaking. Sorry about that.
I'll go ahead and give you some good advice. Try not to camp. The more you chase people, the faster you'll get better at catching survivors.
And don't feel bad about losing. Everyone has to learn the ropes at some point. Just keep at it.

Absolutely! It seems lame to camp someone on the hook. Waste of time. Yeah, the matchmaking has been ridiculous! I play on xbox and thought that PC would be cooler.

@Mister_Holdout @GuineaGamer The funny thing is what nobody will ever tell you is that half the chase is in not chasing the Survivor but leaving the chase and heading them off having predicted the route they would most likely take.

Nah, matchmaking sucks on PC too.

hag for ruin. that massively helps you slow down the game.
other than that, try getting your hands on sloppy butcher. that also works great.
the only thing you then need is experience tbh... learn about safe and unsafe loops, mindgames, how survivors hide, etc.
its a long journey, but it sure pays off.
oh, and if you find yourself having too much trouble, run NOED. they wont like it, but if they dont cleanse those totems, you can turn the entire game by 180 degrees.

Don’t be ashamed for using every trick in the book. Camping may suck for both you and the survivor but it’s part of the game so don’t worry about camping

Matchmaking is fine on xbox, never have that many issues. Every game I played on PC so far has been redonkulous!

I've started just yanking out all of my addons and offerings when I start getting impossible matchups. Play however high-risk you want because you have nothing to lose.
Camping should only be for the end of a game, though. Camping is basically admitting you won't be able to get another down. At least "camp" by staying close enough to chase rescuers instead of just sitting on your sacrifice.

i understand when killers camp 4 gens are done and one or two hooks because then he needs a kill. i don't understand braindead camping (if you have no reason to camp).

So, are you enjoying the rank reset so far?

LOL! It seems about the same today actually. Still getting jacked up lobbies. I am still learning, so It is actually good i'm getting stomped. The community has been really cool. LOL! Most feel bad for me, especially a group of friends.

I mean, you could always see if they wanna farm for the meantime (if you're okay with it) to help you get points. Sometimes you'll run into nice survivors who are okay with a farm. Otherwise I'd wait until people move up from the rank they were put back into so that you get more actual rank 15 players. I'd also look into getting Hag next for Ruin.

Yeah, that was my plan. Bubba first then the hagatha. So BBQ chili and Ruin, what should on focus on after those two?

What killer are you thinking of maining? I think your perk set-up will probably depend on your weaknesses and the killers weaknesses. My killers tend to have tracking perks, for instance, since I'm really bad at tracking. I quite like Spies and Discordance. There's a lot of really solid choices, though, depending on what you're looking for. I'm currently trying to get them all so that I can play with different builds than the one I'm used to. ^^

It depends on your playstyle. During a sale (once per month on steam or humble bundle) the dlcs get reduced by 40%.
Nurse is the unrivaled master on high ranks. But she has a huge learning curve, and it can take you 50-200 hours to master her.
Spirit is close second, then Hillbilly. He's the easiest to learn of those 3.
Myers can do some nice jump scares. But requires a Doctor perk (monitor&abuse) to be fully efficient.
Doctor can be annoying af. Some like the screams.
Hag can be very stressful. But is strong with her traps.
Most people started with the trapper who is okay on mid ranks, but loses pressure on high ranks.
The majority of the killer mains have every killer on lvl 50.

I been playing leatherface to rush BBQ. It is VERY difficult right now to progress. LOL! I have the worst luck with lobbies. I am not great at tracking either. Question: Does "I'm all ears" proc with the spirit while she is phasing? If that makes sense. Like can you see the outline while in the phase realm?

Yeah, I got all the DLC's awhile ago when they were on sale. I just picked up Plague and Ghostface as well. Although I haven't played them much yet.

I am a veteran killer, everyone on here will say, don't camp and tunnel, hell with that, if you are playing all those lower level players and possibly swf groups, then camping is the way to go, get a silent killer, one with no terror radius or one they can't see and get some good perks and add ons that Grant bps. Then camp and tunnel all you want, there is no rule saying you can't, all survivors just want to get out so they'll tell you not to camp, don't do what they want want you to, don't make it easy for them. My devotion level is 4 so I be been playing this a long, long time, the main objective of killer is to hook and sacrifice survivors, doesn't matter how, so camping and tunneling is part of that, people just get mad when they don't get to make it out, it's just a game, lol.

Maybe because it's not fun, a survivor can be written out of a game in a few minutes whereas the killer is in the game for how long they want to be. That's why survivors think tunnelling isn't fun, neither do the devs (thus Borrowed Time and new Decisive).

I camped today. Just one guy. He kept running around me and flashlighting my face. It was SOOOOO annoying. So I tunneled him down and camped him. I like BBQ and chili because you get the points by going after all four. I seem to get better the more that I chase people. Some of these survivors are hella good. I do hate sprint burst...I also really loathe iron will.

That does make sense. I guess it wouldn't be much fun to get camped and singled out. I think it depends is all.

I don't believe you can see auras while you're phasing, so it wouldn't proc. Is Leather Face your killer with your best perks that you're most comfortable with? I would recommend playing a different killer in the meantime if you have one that's better and just dump points into him when you have them.

Yeah, bubba has max BBQ so that helps me farm points. I just got rank 3 whispers too! it helps out a TON. I see a huge difference in my tracking ability with that perk. I enjoy bubba, I haven't even utilized his good addons yet. I just been using the crappy grey ones while I farm. I been getting people disconnecting from my games since I put on Whispers? usually the first person I down. Is that normal?

That title: "Camping?" With a Cannibal profile pic. Are you asking for permission? Camp the first survivor you catch and see if the rest come swarming to the rescue. If they don't, go find them. If you think that camping is a scummy move that's just because you have allowed the survivor's propaganda to poison your mind. Camp when you think is a good idea or when you feel like it! And most importantly: Have fun bathing on their innards

I love it! "Survivor Propaganda!" Yeah, I am still learning how to take advantage of the altruism in this game.
